The girl quickly said I would need to go to the customer service area. I know from past experiences you can return an item at any counter. I've had mixed customer service experience at this location. The employees are nice, all of them but not all are willing to help. I have been searching dresses for a few weddings I have to attend. One employee didn't feel like helping me when I expressed my concerns: have to feel comfortable, long dress, arms mostly covered, I hate shopping ... lol I think that might have sacred her. She went in the back and never came out. I asked for a manager, Lara D., she was very helpful. Super patient, very kind, actually helpful with suggestions. Lara knew which fabrics fit a particular way and which designers will work best for my concerns. She waited by the fitting room, gave me great feedback, which dresses look good and which don't. I felt like I was shopping with a good, honest friend who wants me to look spectacular. Lara also helped me purchase home goods stuff, not even her department. Talk about customer service! This is for an online review. Order was shipped from Irving, Texas location. I received a counterfeit Balenciaga shirt. I felt worried when I noticed the shirt seam was coming off and I knew Balenciaga would not sell such a poor put together shirt. Extremely disappointed. I had a 3rd party company authenticate both items I purchased and the shirt came back as counterfeit. I also bought some Gucci earrings that came in a packaging box that said "Made in China". I was unsure about those as well as they look tarnish and have very cheap back earring locks. Super disappointed in their online service as no one caught the flaws of this item before shipping it out to me. I bought a black M Missoni sweater from the Fashion Island store, never wore it, finally put it on 2 years later, and it was unraveling. How did I not notice this when I initially purchased it? I still had the original tags attached, but no receipt, as it had been a couple of years... So I decided to show them what happened? Customer Service looked at it & was puzzled about the defective flaws??? They researched it, couldn't find a replacement since it was a few years back. So they just refunded me! Now that is STELLAR SERVICE and I will never FORGET how they handled this bizarre incident and treated me with the utmost priority and concern. Growing up in Bay Area the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus was my favorite place to go with my grandma. So we decided to try the one here in memory of grandma. Service and ambiance is excellent (not quite like the Union Square location though). We sat inside but should have sat outside, so if the weather is good recommend sitting outside. I ordered a pair of Common Threads online and the size didn't fit so I immediately returned the item and now they are saying they are rejecting the return. This is absolutely ridiculous. I returned the item in perfect condition within the accepted return window and wanted to a order a size down. Overall my drive from Lancaster, CA. to this location has been pleasant; once here parking is a breeze. Once in the store is a whole different story. This is my third purchase of "Louboutin - Red Sole" shoes at this location. Purchase price today is 945.00 after taxes 1030.50. Can someone explain to Soheila Azimi, Sales Associate; in the shoe department that African American women are due respect just like any other woman of color. I was taken back by her behavior on today. When my husband and I entered the women's shoe department she looked at us and turned away and started doing busy work. Once her fellow shoe associate noticed we were not being helped he approached us to assist. I begin looking at red sole shoes and she must have realized that I was the woman she had briefly spoken to over the phone the day before by the style of shoe I was inquiring about and she became more than accommodating. Needless to say I returned the item that was the incorrect size and "YES" repurchased the correct size. Let me start off by saying I really love Neiman Marcus. I have been coming to this specific store for over 5 years and I have had nothing short of exceptional customer service--until last week. I went in to look at a few handbags with my mother, and an associate (who's name I will leave off of here seeing as I already reported her to the manager) quickly came to help us out. She is a personal shopper and handbag specialist and she was very helpful on that end of things. While looking around and seeing the other employees, I got to thinking that maybe I would see if they were hiring and what it is all about working for this company; I asked the associate and she told me that Neiman Marcus is always looking to add members to their team and I should apply online. ***THIS IS WHERE IT GETS UNCOMFORTABLE***. She then continued on to tell me that they drug test there, but "not to worry if I do drugs because they don't watch you pee" and that she, in fact, "had her clean friend pee into a bag so the test wouldn't show signs of marijuana or cocaine". YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY!!!!! I was so uncomfortable with the situation and so was my mother but I politely said thank you and proceeded to leave, upon which she asked me if I 'wanted to smoke a joint and do the application' on her lunch break. Obviously I said no, and we left. This was by far the weirdest experience I have ever had at any store-- I was so disgusted and applauded by the lack of respect (for herself, and for my mother and I), the total disregard for customer service, and how unaffected she was telling us her personal business that my mother and I could have gone without hearing. For these reasons alone, I will no longer be going to this store until I am notified (hopefully) of her employment termination, and I will continue to spread the word about my terrible and inexcusable experience at the Neiman Marcus store at the Topanga Mall. read more

They have a few decent designers but who is purchasing for them??? Whomever is, is hand picking the most terrible items released from these collections. I think not. This place was so off-putting to me, I honestly don't know where to start. While it oozes the aura of people with money, if that's how people who have money are treated, then they can keep it. Or wait....... perhaps, it's how people who do NOT have money are treated. Perhaps, THAT is what happened. They see us coming and figure that people without riches aren't worth the bother. I don't know. What I DO know is that I know more about perfumes than 2 separate sales people could muster between them...... or wait, maybe they just didn't give a shit.... because that's how it sure appeared. Let me digress for a brief moment and say that at Nordstrom, I have ALWAYS been given "proper" assistance, and by proper, I mean that the sales associates have been taught, told, forewarned, hammered into that they had better know their selling topic, and if not WHAT they sell, then they had better know WHO they are selling to......... and if they don't know, then they had better pretend like they care and start asking questions of their customers to find out how they may better serve them. I have ALWAYS been given phenomenal service at ANY Nordstrom...... so when I entered into the world of Neiman Marcus, I expected EVEN BETTER. I did, and yet, it was soooo far removed from a stellar sales experience...... so much so that I purposely walked out of Neiman's without a purchase (even though I was trying to drum up several hundred dollars worth of perfume (generous gift card in hand), and let's not fail to mention, I walked out with a chip on my shoulder for Neiman's perfume sales associates because they couldn't be bothered with doing their job. NOT ONE...... and I am majorly pissed off about it. Granted, in the scheme of life, it's so unimportant, but this shouldn't have happened. When I arrived at the perfume department, admittedly, I was overwhelmed by the amount of perfume choices that I had never heard of, let alone, smelled. I was out of my league, yet, I was enthusiastic that my gift card could be the link to an amazing bottle of perfume... perhaps even 2 of them. The first lady sales associate, while nice and while seeming like she wanted to assist me, she was assisting another woman, who very clearly expected one-on-one service. Okay, fine, I can't argue with that, but I would have preferred her services. She pawned me off onto this other younger woman named MARISSA, who, when our eyes met, I could see, she had absolutely ZERO interest in helping me. The SECOND she was told what fragrance I was trying to replace (David Yurman), this girl completely zoned out. She said, "well, I don't know that one." Mind you, and here was the turning point, she COULD HAVE ASKED, "what else do you like to wear" or "can you tell me more about what you want." Not one f-ing word came out of her mouth. She just shut down, and when the older, wiser and nicer sales associate kept pushing me onto her, Marissa just looked less and less interested. Because Marissa didn't know her fragrance lines (or she just wasn't interested in educating me about them) (first strike), and she selected what appeared to be top sellers or her personal favorites (second strike), and because she didn't care to find out about ME (third strike), and because she was basically lazy (fourth strike), I spent the next 10 minutes with her showing me fragrances that had nothing to do with what I like. NOTHING AT ALL....... to which she'd respond, "well, I've shown you EVERYTHING" when she hadn't come close to showing me EVERYthing, or she'd say, "your nose is just all confused" when I had, in fact, inhaled coffee in between each perfume. With each spray, I grew angrier. Enter a THIRD woman, who was the actual rep for one perfume line..... while she was extremely nice and interested (lets be honest) in making a sale, she at least feigned a momentary interest in me...... but when I asked her about what NOTES were in one bottle for the ONE LINE she was responsible for, she looked at me and said she didn't know. I fell completely flat at that moment. How do you NOT KNOW YOUR LINE??????? Was I in the Twilight Zone? Was Howie Mandel putting these people up to saying stuff to purposely get a reaction out of me? This was ridiculous. At that point, it was my turn to shut down. There was no way I was going to give ANYbody their commission for such non-existent "service." Yeah, right, if only I had received "service," then they would have had a sale....... and I'd have some perfume that I might love. Instead, I'm at home typing this review for the terrible lack of service that I received. I will NOT set foot in that store again. They can keep whatever image they try to exude. I will likely order online, and frankly, could make a better perfume choice with closing my eyes and letting fate take its course. read more

Wow, I didn't realize there are so many insecure people out there. I'm lucky to be a 3rd generation NM shopper and while I've been to the NM in Bev Hills more often, I've had absolutely no problem with this branch at all. Like most high end stores, the salespeople are trained to not "discriminate" because you never know who you're dealing with. When you're wealthy enough, you don't have to flaunt it and the high end stores know that. More than once, I've seen people wandering around at NM and at Saks Fifth wondering to myself "gee, I wonder if that person came into the wrong store" only to realize that they have enough $ to buy out the entire damn store. One particular gentleman I saw at the BH store (looked borderline homeless, I tell you) turned out to be an actor in disguise. But I didn't see a single store employee treat him with any less respect than say.. Oprah. I've run into NM wearing a t-shirt and volleyball shorts over a bathing suit and had absolutely NO problem getting service, and no different nor worse than when I'm dressed up. And no, NM is NOT "overpriced" because the stuff they sell is high end. They don't charge anymore for the same stuff than say Saks, Barneys or the actual brand boutique. So yes, a shirt from NM does cost more than a shirt from Sears or JC Penney. But last I checked, NM does NOT sell say a Gucci shirt for more than what Sears or JC Penney charges. Compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges, please. Now go splurge/treat yourself and pick up something beautiful for yourself. read more

Not only was Bridget accommodating to my personal skin needs and concerns, but she also changed her entire routine so that she could tend to my sun-burnt skin. The day before my facial, I accidentally got sun burn and immediately informed Bridget-- and so she altered her usual skincare regimen to be more healing and hydrating than usual-- and oh my goodness!! The Nieman Marcus Cafe is a hidden gem - for the food and staff! Izumi is in charge of the kitchen and produces great NM food, along with some of her own dessert creations, including an incredible flourless chocolate cake, among others. The present wait staff, because of the pandemic, has been reduced to two - Camille and Martin - who always provide warm, friendly and exceptional service. This is an excellent example of what the eating-out experience should be at every level. read more

This is solely a review in the giftware section. I didn't browse the entire store. I went mainly to buy my fancy Yoku Moku cookies in the metal box that NM sells. I don't have a NM store anywhere close to me in which I've had to order them online in the past. I went on a Saturday & the saleslady was nice, but then again, the dept had no other customers. So, someone asked me what's so special about these cookies? Well, it's one of those little indulgences that you do every once in a while in life when you want a little treat. The cookies have a light, flaky, soft crunch...not hard & crunchy like regular cookies. They're not too sweet, but have a light taste. They're individually wrapped & come in a nice, metal tin box that you can keep other items in. They're nice for dinner parties for your guests too! I mainly like the regular cigare cookies that come in the royal blue colored box. This brand of cookies comes in several types. read more
