Fraud alert! Came here for power trip and the bartenders mismanaged my credit card on separate nights. First night I paid cash, yet magically my cc was charged $5 and something cents. So essentially I was double billed. Second night, I ordered a lite beer and gave a dollar tip. My cc was charged an extra ten dollars. I guess whoever ran my credit card added an extra 0 and shifted the one digit to the tenths place. This cannot be an error. This happened on two separate nights: I'd stay away from this bar because I have reason to believe at least one bartender is participating in widespread cc fraud to inflate his tip payout. Note to the owner: it would be prudent to audit your slips the past week. Rest assured, theres massive liability on your hands if you turn a blind eye. read more

Every seat at the bar filled at 11 am on an August Sunday. Walk through the door and dance floor immediately to the right. The bar is L-shaped to the left, with around d 15-16 stools, which are square and padded with back support--round brass footrest. The bar has classic rails and a beautiful wooden bar top. Over the bar is a small roof-like overhang that makes the place very comfortable. Opposite bar are tall tables. To the right of bar are lower dining tables. Pool tables are behind the bar. Great tin ceiling. Service is impeccable and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. The fried chicken sandwich from Cocky Bull was as good as advertised. The burgers also looked incredible. The crowd is as expected on an early Sunday morning, with older people drinking stiff drinks (Best - strong - vodka soda ). A decent number of TVs makes Neil's a place where you can watch the game, but not a sports bar. Overall, it's a great place to grab a beer and a shot. read more

I love Neil's Lounge. It's a total dive but they make a good drink, fun karaoke (depending on the night, friendly bartenders, and a pool table. What more could you ask for? Service: in my experience service/the bartenders are always friendly, I've never had an issue. For a dive bar it's also clean. Bathrooms no issues and the tables/chairs are always cleaned off. They maintain the bar well. The crowd is every kind of person you could imagine which is nice. Locals, friendly people, don't want to be bothered people, drunk vacationers, a little bit of everything. A true dive. Welcoming good vibes. I've also never had an issue with the security unlike what some reviewers spoke of. Next on my list is to try the food. I had been a couple of times and didn't realize they had food but the last time I was there someone was served some amazing smelling wings. This was a hot minute ago but hopefully they still have some grub bc that would make this spot complete for me. COACHELLA/STAGECOACH/ACIRISURE!!!! I've been coming to Neil's for the past 10+ years while working festival/events in the city. Neil's was always the greatest local dive vibe to come to when you were in town, but what I experienced tonight was VERY DISTURBING. I got to the bar at 1am, got a couple drinks. By 1:30am they announced last call, my group waiting in line to get our last round and sat down 5 minutes later. At 1:40am the secuirty guards started to tell people they had 5 minutes to finish their drinks. Not to mention the DJ sat down at our table to harass us to finish our drinks. This caused EVERYONE to drink very fast and the security was EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE. How can you allow people to be treated this way, not one person cared to think about the consequences of drinking and driving after slamming their drinks. I really hope this isn't the new normal for this bar, I can see this place losing their liquor license when people leave and get DUIs. SHAME ON THE STAFF & OWNERS read more

I was able to get in after failing the first two times but that time I was with a super gay group. Food is decent when it's a third party vendor selling outside. They have a few seats outside and some folks hangout in the back parking lot where food vendors might be. They have a shooting about once a month so if you time it right you can avoid being shot and have a good time but come at that time and you can be on the local news. I kinda loved this place. Total dive, but a good amount of space and the bartenders can POUR. Kinda sketchy at night (we arrived to a fight being broken up one night), but their security does NOT mess around so it doesn't feel too unsafe. Karaoke was awesome. When we were staying in La Quinta for the weekend we came in for karaoke both on Friday and Saturday nights. Different karaoke hosts each night, but both were friendly. My son was visiting Palm Springs over spring break and spent his last night out at Neil's Lounge. Unfortunately, he had to catch an early morning flight home to Oregon and didn't realize his phone was missing until it was too late. With help from friends, we retraced his steps and found his phone at Neil's Lounge. Josh answered my call, verified he had my son's phone, and offered to get it in the mail overnight and fronting the expense. He said that he trusted me to reimburse him once the phone was on its way. This man went out of his way and above and beyond to help someone he didn't even know. I am sure he deals with a lot of interesting people and situations managing a bar... and that is what makes this gesture even more impactful. People like this are a rare commodity in this world we live in now. This place sucks.went there with friends.there six of us. 2 us.. At 8 pm they told us we had to order cause Karoke was starting and we hurried and ordered. Two people in our party got their food. After half an hour we were still waiting for our food. Went to the kitchen to ask where our food was, they said we ordered at different times, which was a lie. We we ordered at the same time. We waited so long, we canceled. We asked for the manager and were told Josh the manager wasn't there on a Fridsy night. We left without eating. We will never go there again. I love Neil's and have been going here for over 20 years. They recently had a kitchen remodel and linked with Murph's Gaslight to create an all new menu. The chicken is so good and the wings also are not your average wings. Very good food! There is also a new cocktail menu and nice patio seating too. Neil's has pool tables and Karaoke and is a fun neighborhood staple. The staff is always friendly and very strict with all ABC laws which is great to see.
