I started going to the Rothfeld Center in Waltham, MA for bursitis…read morein my ankle. I knew about bee venom treatments, and knew they did them. The treatments worked very quickly. The doctors at the Center are very involved with allergy issues, candida, and other concerns that mainstream health centers don't even address. It would be nice if most of the procedures were covered by health insurance, but that is not their fault! I highly recommend the Rothfeld Center.

Every time I have come to V Care in Framingham, the head pharmacist has given me a hard time. In…read morethe past, she has given me the run around about my asthma medication. Today, I came from urgent care, and the PA there had sent a prescription over for an eye infection. When I get to V Care, that same pharmacist said it wasn't sent over yet. I wait longer, then ask again. She still said it was never sent over. I then call the urgent care facility, wait on hold for 10 minutes, then am told the ointment was sent over 30 minutes earlier. I then go back to the counter, tell the pharmacist it had been sent, and she magically finds it in the computer. Then, after waiting another 15 minutes, the pharmacist then tells me that they don't have the eye ointment after all. If I am repeatedly treated this way, I am sure others are, too.

It's a pharmacy, not a toy shop, so it can only be so exciting. That being said, my experiences…read morehave been overall pretty good and consistent here. The pharmacists are (mostly) friendly, and prescriptions are usually ready for pickup within 10-15 minutes of waiting. The cons? There is no fancy online portal like most hospitals have. The portal they do have is more of a digital form submission, and then you get a text/email confirmation when it's ready for pick up. It does seem pretty glitchy; I once got a text to pick up a second prescription I'd ordered (that I assumed wasn't ready yet) about 2 minutes after I picked up the first one, as if the notification was triggered by my pickup. The people who answer the phones are usually irritated and/or in a rush to get you off the line. I had a gentleman that wasn't very friendly on the phone today when I called to see if a prescription was ready. I've also had the phone just ring with no answer. When I've asked to be called for pickup notification, no one ever calls. Oh, and bags are 5 cents. All that being said, the location is extremely convenient for T-users or Back Bay workers (it's between the Arlington green line stop and the Back Bay orange line stop, in a brick building next to a furniture store). The pharmacists know their stuff, are certified with iPledge, and are not shy to give you a full lesson of your new prescription, which I love. There's also free pill organizers and slicers, and I can't complain about that!

Kind of hit or miss…read more They have a local courier and will ship to locations outside the neighborhood, which is nice. However, the courier service leaves controlled substances on the porch or in the mailbox where they get stolen, then the pharmacy denies it happened, insisting "those require a signature" (but is apparently not able to pull up a signature log or anything, just insisting the courier wouldn't have left them without a signature), and then makes the patient do the legwork to get new prescriptions from the provider. The staff are incompetent, but the manager will usually fix things. They do things like enter prescription refills as new prescriptions, or fill controlled substance prescriptions out of order, and then the previous ones expire. The manager can usually sort this out, but it shouldn't require asking for the manager every time. I've had to insist the pharmacy call the provider to explain that new prescriptions are needed because of the pharmacy's error. They wanted the patient to call, and seem to be lacking awareness in terms of community healthcare for marginalized people. I had to spell out for them why it looks bad when someone is requesting replacement prescriptions of controlled substances every few months.
