Let me start by saying that having someone you trust to work on your vehicles is extremely important to me. I have been burned more than once by unscrupulous shops, so finding someone as reputable as Matt has been awesome. Matt has performed brake jobs on all of our vehicles as well as other jobs such as replacing a window regulator motor and A/C work. Every time I call to schedule an appointment, he either answers or returns my call within a very short period of time. If he is in the middle of something and can't talk, he will send me a text explaining that he will call as soon as he is able. That alone is worth a lot. He also will take the time to explain the repair, how long it will probably take, and gives an accurate estimate of the cost. His rates are competitive and often less than an actual shop. You also can't beat the convenience of having him come to you rather than having to drive across town and either drop off your vehicle or sit there and wait a ridiculous amount of time while your vehicle is worked on. He stopped by my house while I was out of town, and performed the work. He was very courteous to my wife and father in law. Unlike several other providers of mobile brake services they did not hesitate to affirm their willingness and ability to assist with a relatively simple brake replacement job. First time I ever used a mobile mechanic and it was the coolest thing ever! Matt came to fix my alternator and I expected a guy with some tools to come here and wrestle my car for 4 hours til it was done. Instead, I got a pro with record speed and high quality work! It was nuts! Matt had that alternator (07 Odyssey) out like it was his tenth that day! The guy knew his stuff, he was super helpful and very polite. I was cussing like a sailor and he never once dropped an F bomb with me. That's professionalism in my book. All in all his price and turn time was lower/faster than my usual and very reputable mechanic . He had the job done within 2hrs (with small talk intervals). Add the fact that I didn't need to call a tow truck to haul my van to a shop and I'd say using Matt is a no-brainer! Definitely recommend using him. PS. Matt's worked on 3 of my vehicles over the last couple of years. He always does a great job, and quickly! The problem is, he's too honest and too reasonably priced! Where most brake repair guys would've told me I needed to replace all 4 sets of pads and the front rotors, Matt was honest and showed me where the rear pads had plenty of miles left on them, and only replaced the fronts. I want to first say that I am leery of auto shops. I've replaced motors, rewired cars, and just about anything else you can do on a car myself so I avoid overpriced shops like the plague. After relocating recently though, I no longer had access to anywhere to work on my own vehicle. After contacting several shops, I was refused from bringing in my own parts. I only buy top of the line parts, and after working in shops before, I knew that many cut corners and buy cheaper parts. No one I spoke too allowed my own parts even if I provided part numbers so they could verify. I even told them they don't have to warranty the parts, I just need them to install them. After several weeks of looking, I finally came across Matt. I gave him a call and made an appointment. Matt showed up right on time but I wanted to speak with him before he started as I've never used a mobile mechanic before and I really just wanted to make sure he knew his stuff before he got started. Needless to say, he knows his stuff and was well prepared with tools. I had him replace the front struts, lower ball joints, and outer tie rod ends on an '04 Taurus. He also switched out an oil pressure sensor that was leaking and in a spot that I didn't want to contort to, to reach myself. One of the ball joints was rusted in place, so he came back the next day with a torch and cut it off. Labor was reasonable (still less than a shop) and I was very pleased with his work. He even called me outside (he did the work at my work) to look over everything to make sure he was pleased before he re-installed everything. Overall, I am very pleased with his work. It was done timely, and more importantly, the right way. Unlike many mechanics (who are usually pretty gruff) he is very friendly and easy to talk to. I will not hesitate to give him a call again if there is work beyond my current limitations. Thanks Matt! read more
