If you have plenty of time, stop in and try it out. Food is ok, service not so much. Just a good ole boy place looking to serve locals. They open at 11:30, I got there at 11:15 waited in the parking lot which was fine. At 11:32 a guy pulls up and starts unloading bags of groceries and a woman walks in with him. I go in behind them and the woman says it's gonna be a while. Keep in mind it's now 11:35 and supposedly they open at 11:30 according to the sign on the door. She gets money out, goes in the back and gets ice, cuts on air etc. at 11:45 I place my order. The man is still getting out utensils, stuff from the freezer, towels, etc. A lady comes in right behind me and places a order for her and 2 teenage boys then another guy comes in and orders and he's very local cause they start joking with him and asking questions about family etc. the woman woman behind me and the next gentleman all get their drinks and I still have nothing. At 12:00 I finally ask for my drink and she has no record of me ordering a drink. I pay for a drink and get it. I have no receipt to prove I didn't already pay for a drink, cause I sure ordered one. At this point no one has received anything but drinks and the place has supposed to have been open for 30 minutes already. At 12:02 the local man gets his food. At 12:06 I finally get my food. Chicken sandwich is ok, frozen chicken patty but it's not bad. Cheeseburger is decent. Not fond of the chili. So if you're not in a rush check it out but don't go at 11:30. When I ran a business opening time was the time you waited on customers not the time you stocked ice, prepped food, heated fryers up, etc. I live about 30 minutes away and have eaten here several times, this isn't just today it's every time I've come here cause it's always at 11:30. read more

We've been frequent customers of Ned's for the past year. Always enjoyed the food and casual atmosphere. Unfortunately, this last time one of our items we ordered was made/prepared completely wrong. Not only did we not get an apology, we were made to pay for both the wrong meal, and for the second one that was made correctly...and got an "unfriendly attitude" by the employee. This is actually the second time I've been here and it was just as good as the first. This restaurant is off the beaten path in "downtown" Aynor, SC. There really isn't much of a town or downtown, by Northern standards. It is mostly locals who frequent this hidden gem. It is a simple exterior, easy to miss with a small sign. Inside is simple and plain with its painted plywood ceiling. But the burger is far from plain. This is home to the Ned burger which is about a half pound of a delicious heart attack. If you are brave enough, you can order the double Ned burger which is about a pound of meat! I barely made it through a regular Ned burger and I passed on the fries and other sides. Not to out done, there is a triple Ned burger! There are some pictures on the wall of people who were able to survive that mountain of food. Don't know if they went straight to the hospital. The burger is not only huge, it is delicious. Quality tasting juicy hand slapped beef patty. Those who also ordered sides said the French fries and onion rings were perfectly prepared. If you are ever in the Aynor area, disregard the plain Jane wrapper and dive in for a Ned burger. read more

Food was good, worker was very rude. I asked for extra Mayo and she said and I quote " you can come up and get it yourself I'm busy" with an attitude a simple I'm a little backed up right now give me a minute would've sufficed or give me a couple minutes but she was very rude about it. My friend also tried to order and she gave the same attitude to her as well simply over adding a condiment, Loved my burger. But I would NEVER talk to my costumers the way that lady spoke to me and my family. I work in food service and get it, but that's no reason to be rude. Might not come back here for that reason. First, I went around the burger eating the overflowing meat with a knife and fork, until I whittled it down to match the bun, then cut remaining burger in half to finish it off. This place was hopping!! Super busy and they were keeping up well. I came in close to closing so I got my food to go. The regular cheeseburger with fries. There was so much food I split it into two meals. The fries were astounding. You could tell the grease was fresh but it still had the good flavor from other item mixed in... it just made the fries melt in my mouth. The burger was great and perfectly cooked. Still juicy on the inside and grilled nicely on the outside. I'll be back every chance I get. read more

Let me start by saying my family and I got a flat tire coming home from the beach as we were waiting with two screaming toddlers we decided to go to this place to grab a bite to eat so we get in there with a woman who had the nastiest resting bitch face I've ever seen! I ordered a cheeseburger i said a small one for my 5 year old and normal one for me n my husband, ordered a hot dog and 3small drinks and a side of Chili n chz fries. As we waited for our order the woman yelled at my two year old because he was coloring with a pen on a book that I gave him and said she didn't want pen on her table luckily I was in the bathroom it's this time cause mama bear woulda went off!! So we get our food the burgers were ridiculous like a 10lb burger one you'd see in a food challenge! The chili chz fries were basically canned chili with a few fries under neath and maybe some chz whiz collaborated in there just disgusting! I might have given two stars because the burger did have good flavor but I review on the over all experience of the places I go. As I'm a huge foodie and blogger I go anywhere from 5star rests., dives, food trucks, family style, the little joints that no one knows about and small town places like this one. The ambiance was not inviting and it was hot! But like I said it was the extremely rude mousy looking lady and ungracious host we had to endure that I give it one star. Stopped in for lunch; had to try the Ned Burger. Had the burger with cheese and chili. It was great. Patty dwarfed the bun and the chili made the bun a little soggy. But, it tasted great and seemed like a burger you would aspire to make at home. Skip the chains and try Ned's. read more

We went to Ned's based on reviews. My wife and each ordered 1 cheeseburger small ($3.95) 1 each French fry ($2.50). along with 2 Tap waters out of the faucet. The bill came to $17.92. When we questioned the bill she stated the waters were .75 cents each, along with lettuce .90 each, and the tomato for my wife's burger another .90 cents. The two gentleman next to us approached us and stated they ordered Ned burgers, drinks, fries and onion rings and the bill was over $40.00. We stopped for the first time at Ned's Sandwich Shop in September 2014 on one of our many trips between Columbia and Surfside Beach. We had heard good things about the burgers. I had a Ned's burger and my wife had the regular burger. We also had fries. We both thought the burgers and fries were really good. The food is cooked to order and you will have to wait a bit for the fresh cooked food. A bit pricey, but, again, locally owned and good food. The Ned's burger was huge - next time, I'll get the regular sized burger. So, we recommend! read more

We have lived in Aynor for 2 years now and today was the second and LAST chance I will be giving this place! The food is decent however the service is terrible!! I dont think I've ever been treated so poorly while dinning in an establishment. As soon as you walk in the waitress who has been the same lady both times we've gone barks " what do you want" and when you reply that you would like to look at the menu for a moment you get a disgusted attitude. They never came to make sure everything was cooked adequetly or to see if we needed anything. 2 thumbs down in my book. My hope is they will get some people that actually want to work and will be friendly to guests. read more

Called in an order to go..was told it would be ready in 15 mins. It took 20 mins...no big deal there. However, for 2 Ned Burgers with cheese, 2 fries and 2 sodas, the bill came to $26 and some change. The burgers used to be a lot bigger than what we got that day (Saturday, Jan. 17 2015)...it was about the size of a McDonald's quarter pounder..definitely tastes better than one though. The French fries were the saltiest french fries I've ever eaten in my life...well, the few that I chose to eat. All things considered... we won't be going back to Neds. read more
