The first time I found this spot, I was so obsessed I was literally coming here every single day (no shame at all). The donuts are always fresh, beautifully made and dangerously delicious. Every visit tastes just as amazing as the last, which says a lot because consistency is everything. Beyond the donuts, the customer service is always phenomenal and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality you're getting. At this point, it's become a tradition anytime I'm heading to visit family in Florida, I have to stop here and grab a dozen to bring with me. Come early because they sell out fast! I was referred here by a customer at my job, who raved about how good the donuts were. So it was a no-brainer that I stopped by, especially since they live in Durham. I stopped in about 2 PM on a Friday and they have practically sold out of most things, which is not unlikely. There's often a long line when they open to get fresh donuts. I got a red velvet doughnut, an apple fritter, and a regular cruller. They were so light and airy and practically melted in your mouth. I could see how dangerous it would be if I lived closer I would probably stop every week! It's a family owned restaurant so it was nice to see them all working together and all smiles. I really loved that. They were super helpful in suggesting their favorite items and encouraging me to come again so I can try their different options. This is the best donut place I've visited in the Triad area! They are always busy and actually updated their hours from 6AM-6PM from the last time I tried to visit (they sold out of donuts and closed early on my previous attempt). This location reminds me of the old school donut shops, back home in Las Vegas. You are greeted when you come through the door. They move quickly and efficiently and have the best customer service. They're so friendly and talk to you with the utmost respect. They have regular and decaf coffee available, which I can imagine is a help in the morning when someone may be only able to make one stop. I'd definitely choose these donuts over a coffee shop during a morning commute. The donuts are big, fluffy and yeasty! They are moist and made fresh. Everyone enjoyed the donuts from the glazed old fashion, to the huge classic glazed twist, to the chocolate covered donut. They were all amazing. Always friendly when I drop in. I don't often but the dudes times I have visited, it was worth the trip.

The pastries are delicious. The prices has changed with an increase added but the price chart does not appear to reflect the change. Sometimes I feel like I go on two separate occasions and order the same thing but the price is different so I do which their price display was updated. However, the above statement is not why they received 3 stars. I would have given them 5 but their time for which they are open is inaccurate. I hate driving there to find a sign at noon saying closed early sold out. This happen almost daily where they close before 2. If this the case where they know they will not be open to 6 then I wish they changed their hours to 5 a.m. to noon. I have never been able to go there after 2 p.m. and the store is open but it say they are open till 6. read more

Holy moly. I stumbled into donut heaven. No corporate standard size options here. All types of donuts: cake, raised, filled, fritters, rolls. One could eat themselves into a donut coma trying them all. I settled on a couple of not-so-plain donuts and a filled. What makes this place a little unique: if you order a filled donut that is not one of their prefilled, they will take that donut over to a machine and fill it with the fruit or cream on-the-spot. If I had known that, I probably would have ordered another, just to watch. There was a line of at least a dozen people when I stopped in early morning, and I was tempted to leave, but that temptation was overcome by the temptation right before my eyes of donuts and smell of donuts. The line moved quickly. There was a controlled orderliness, one or two people took orders and one rang up the purchases. It seemed chaotic, but really wasn't. NC Jelly Donut is donut heaven, and the further away from NC I drove, the further away I went from it . . . I'm going to leave that analogy here because I don't like where it leads. Want donuts? I HATE THIS PLACE!!! Long post report***** I happened upon this small donut shop in a strip mall off exit 153. Headed home from work, I was hoping for a sweet treat but it was closed. I attempted on another day and it was closed. Now I felt this was a challenge because I went at different times each attempt, before the posted close time. I finally caught them open one morning on the way to work. Remember, the shop is in a strip mall. When I arrived, I noticed a line out the door. I was thinking that this place was like many others with slow service, or maybe the workers just didn't show to work. Anyway I was willing to take a chance because after all, THEY WERE OPEN. When I finally made it in, the lady at counter was polite. I went in for an apple fritter because they are my favorites. They didn't have any and I was disappointed. I opted for a plain donut which is usually a last resort for me because plain are normally the least chosen and least flavorful of donuts. I was not excited about it all. Anyway I took the donut and left. A few hours later when I remembered that I had it, I decided to eat it, thinking that I would need to microwave it to soften it up a bit. That donut was AMAZING! It was the softest, fluffiest, not too sweet but sweet enough, donut that Ive had in a while. I highly recommend this shop. Donuts are made fresh, daily and when they sell out, they close the shop. This explain why they weren't open the first couple of times. I have been back for more since that time and I encourage you go. But stop by before noon. I love their donuts but I'm giving them a one star based on service. I called at 9am to place a pickup for 2 dozen glazed donuts at 2:45pm for one of my employees birthday. The lady I was speaking to told me that was too late to pickup but I have placed this same order in the past for pickup between 2:30pm and 2:45pm with no issue! She proceeded to tell me that I'd have to pickup at 1pm but I let her know how far I lived. I live 40 minutes away but I do work in the area, I go in at 4pm so it would be super inconvenient for me to drive 40 minutes and then sit around for 3 hours before my shift started. Also their hours are listed from 6am-6pm so picking up at 2:45pm should not be an issue. If anybody else knows any good donut spots between Chapel Hill and Mebane please let me know because I probably won't be ordering from here anymore! read more
