    LOMO SALTADO

A nice welcome to an already great lineup of restaurants at the BLVD MRKT. I opted to try NAZCA for the first time while at the Montebello Downtown Fest. Despite it being very busy within the food court, my order number was called within a few minutes and I rushed to my seat eager to feast. Everything from the meat, the vegetables, the fries and the salsas were flavorful, with the best bite being the one where you can try all of the aforementioned together at once. After the pleasant first experience, I'm excited to return and continue to support.

If you've never tried Peruvian Food, this is the place to start. Arroz Chaufa, Yuca Frita, and their ceviche were amazing. Not to mention their Aji. Would definitely come back, as it is officially Peruvian approved from a Peruvian herself.

    Myself with the ARROZ CHAUFA

An absolute hidden treasure located close to home. Full of flavor, full of authenticity, it's all I ever asked for of a Peruvian restaurant in the states. I had the Arroz Chaufa with Chicken, my father ordered the Lomo Saltado. Each plate was full of distinct flavor, texture and presentation, the lomo had a rich flame filled flavor, it's an extraordinary spot I highly recommend. The area is an outdoor patio style dining spot, which to me is perfect for relaxing. I highly recommend and definitely will be coming back for their ceviche! Five stars absolutely deserved!!!

    The food was amazing

Absolutely delicious, forsure my new favorite spot, the owner is extremely nice and you can tell he cares about the quality of the food

The menu had so many different options that I had a hard time deciding between the soups, traditional meat dishes, and pasta selections. I ended up ordering a pasta dish that surprisingly had an Asian-inspired flavor profile. It reminded me a bit of Kung Pao chicken with linguini, thanks to the red and green bell peppers, onions, and a nice kick of spice. It was delicious, especially with the house-made green salsa they served on the side. I also ordered a side of rice and beans, and although I passed on the plantains since I was dining solo, the server kindly brought me a sample, which was such a thoughtful touch. This is a cozy, mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot with a mix of two- and four-top tables. Parking was easy, and I found a space right in front. I stopped by just before closing, and there were still a few people enjoying dinner. Expect to spend around $30 per person. Overall, I enjoyed the food and friendly service, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

It was a hole in the wall and had relatively good reviews for lomo saltado so I had my hopes up thinking the food would be amazing. My chief complaint is that it took almost 30 minutes for my single order to come out because the kitchen was busy prioritizing to-go/delivery orders. Had I known this, I wouldn't have eaten inside the restaurant; I would've actually gotten it delivered. My next complaint is that no receipt was given as customer copy, and no itemized receipt when asking for tip. The total for this dish came out to almost $30 including tip, and the waitress/cashier didn't mention the lunch special at all. I brought it up to ask about it after I paid, to which she replied, "Oh, you probably don't want that cuz it's smaller. But it comes with a drink and soup." The fact that she assumed I wouldn't want the lunch special (when I'm there at lunch time) that would've been a much better deal at $17.99 and perfect portion size for me, and yet charged me for the regular dinner price was a bit presumptuous. It's also weird that they would ask for a tip (which I gave anyway) before I even received my meal. It's less about the price but the principle! But I was just hungry and needed to go to my next appointment, so I didn't argue, but again, the food took way too long to come out so I had to ask her about it after the 25 minute mark. Food came out after 30 minutes, and I had to get up and ask for the aji verde sauce when most restaurants usually serve it to you with the meal. The aji verde sauce which is really important to me to complement this dish, unfortunately missed the mark as well. I really missed Sol Inka's aji verde sauce that's well-rounded in every way. Lomo saltado should be balanced between the meat, tomatoes, onions, and fries, but it was definitely heavy on the fries with only two pieces of tomatoes. I would've preferred more meat too if it's the regular plate, but it felt like a fries dump. I wouldn't have had complaints if this were the lunch special order. Anyways, if you don't mind the headache & having to be extra proactive to get what you want, this is the place to be, but it's definitely not my cup of tea. $30 for a sub-par lomo saltado where well over half of it is fries does not sit well with me, considering I waited 30 minutes for my meal. Unfortunately, I'd just have to stick to Sol Inka for my regular Peruvian food fix, as the flavor is more robust there anyways. Oh, and Sol Inka also gives complimentary warm bread and butter, while there isn't anything like that here.

Been a customer for over 25 yrs. Gotta say the aji green salsa is still good. But not as good as it used to be. Same yummy rolls. Ordered my usual since we're only here a few times a year now. Back when I was working in Bellflower, I was here every Monday for lunch. Tried most things in the menu. Ordered: Ceviche mixto- tangy, not spicy unless you bite into the yellow habanero. Which was so large I thought it was a bell pepper! A mix of shrimp, scallop, squid, mussel & white fish. It's still a fav. Tallarin mariscos- pasta with mixed seafood in a soy sauce based sauce. Off menu and still very good. Lomo saltado- hubby ordered this. Said it was good as usual. Unsure about other comments regarding toughness of meats. Decor has changed a bit. Half wall divides length of restaurant. Possibly to create a sense of intimacy in this one large room. We will still come back. Not for nostalgia but because we still enjoy the food here. There's a possibility previous reviewers have a misconception about restaurant life. Not sure they've notice the price of groceries in general have increased. Most entrees $20 +. Similar to other restaurants. Gone are the days of $12-15 entrees. Realistically need to consider prices of gas too. Cuz foods arrive in trucks. Also finding and keeping good chefs/staff is hella difficult. Hopefully the owners can balance their skills amount three restaurants.
