Great bagels, terrific cream cheese, and nice people who know the regulars names and orders. Tourists hear about the old bay cream cheese. But this place is solid quality bagels in a spacious community centric space. Love the white board with wisdom, words, tides and navyaphilia. System works, even if a bit confusing. Order, get a playing card, and they call your card to pick it up. Coffee was excellent. Couched between West Annapolis, Downtown and the Naval Academy. They're selling day old bagels at best as if they're made the same day. I arrived shortly after they opened on a Monday morning around 6:30. In a legit bagel shop, at that time an untoasted bagel will melt the butter because it's so fresh. Instead this one was barely chewable. This is the problem with people eating toasted bagels. You can sell them old ones and they won't know. I don't like wasting food, but if you don't sell them all, you can sell them half price the next day to people who don't care because they're going to take them home and toast them or you can save them for the toasted sales. read more

I've been on the hunt for a good BEC bagel sandwich ever since my all time favorite place closed. Naval Bagels BEC is the closest thing I've had to the sandwich I yearn for. Good bagels, love the cream cheese selection - straight forward service - clean place. Had a great experience this morning at Naval Bagels. There's always a bunch of people in there but I never wait long at all. We grabbed a bagel and then a dozen bagels to go. You can order ahead and just pick up bagels too and it's indicated once you walk in which way to go. The register person was good, straight forward, always explains you to the other end to pay and pick up when called, and you move on. The bagels are always fresh. They were out of chocolate chip (my son was bummed) but I had an everything and it was delicious and my son had a plain which he loves. They are always quick, and fresh. They do have condiments out for coffee and lots of space as they moved all the chairs out of the way. There was sanitizer which is nice. The fridge has cream cheese for grabbing on the go. It continues to be a positive experience even though times are different. We have been coming here over 10 years and will continue to go here. read more

Not sure why I even bother to come here. In the two previous trips, along with this trip, the order placed is not what was received. This instance, I asked for two toasted everything bagels with Cream Cheese, one with Tomato. What I received when I returned home was two non toasted everything bagels with cream cheese, no tomato either. It wasn't even busy. This by far is the best bagel in town. I know they'll be those naysayers that think that other places might tow the line when it comes to being named the best bagel by me in Annapolis. But consistency in my opinion is the most important factor in determining a good bagel. There are places in the area that import water from New York thinking that that makes their bagels better, but at the end of the day it's the employees that put forth a time and effort to ensure the bagel is cooked correctly and serve to the customer peoples. Not only do they serve quality fresh in a rotating specialty bag of cooked fresh daily, they also have a wide variety of bagel sandwiches that can be made off of the menu or design one on your own. My favorite thing to get is not a bagel it's their unbelievably perfect sweet tea. I could go in and fill a gallon jug full of this stuff and have it drank before I got to the parking lot, it is that good. Be prepared at times to wait in line but I will assure you that the weight is definitely worth it. Everyone that I have taking there from out of town and locally have all said the same thing I was right and it is the best bagel I've had in while. Was searching Yelp looking for a place to grab breakfast in Annapolis when I came across Naval Bagels. I saw the Old Bay Bagel posted on the Yelp reviews and knew I had to give it a try. I drove to the location on a Sunday morning and waited in a short line(2 people in front of me). While waiting I couldn't see over the counter to what bagels were available. I got to the front desk and was greeted by a less than enthusiastic male who grunted "no" when I asked if they had old bay bagels. He appeared very frustrated by the simple question. After the less than pleasant exchange I left and got bagels from a different business as I wasn't interested in supporting a business that staff is unable to provide a simple greeting before grunting at customers. Was looking for a good bagel place near Annapolis. This was a great distance to grab, drive a few minutes, and go sit down near the water to eat. The prices were very reasonable. The parking situation was a breeze - huge lot. They had cute outside seating if you wanted it as well. Overall, the bagel was just okay. I like other local locations a bit better, but for being close to downtown Annapolis I will take it. :) They had so many bagel options to choose from and plenty of toppings! I love this place and the food, and I wish I could give them 5 stars but my experience today wasn't the best. Customer service- usually pretty good. The guy who took my order today was extremely standoffish, did not seem like he wanted to be there and was super impatient. Bagels- there's no wrong choice here. I've gotten many different flavors of bagels here, the different cream cheeses, and the different sandwiches and it's always really great!! Okay Naval Bagels! I see you! The fam and I stopped here one morning to get it off the house and grab a bagel bite for breakfast. It was pretty busy in the parking lot but the total wait to order to food was only about 15 minutes. They have a plethora of options including turkey bacon for the non pork eaters out there of which I am one. I ordered the Northerner with turkey bacon, the vegetarian for my sis and a four egg with turkey bacon on rye for the boo thang. The bagels were wrapped well and if you do the for egg make sure you specify. My boo ended up with a six egg bagel as there was some confusion when he ordered from the menu and then added now eggs. But he wasn't complaining cause he loves to eat! The bagel was nice and soft with the perfect amount of veggies, and my sister enjoyed the veggie one. Knowing they have turkey bacon, I'll plan to return for breakfast before the year is up. read more

Hands down the best bagel shop in Annapolis. The location is great. Right by downtown, near the Naval Academy, about a block or two from the stadium and close to Hwy 50. The seating area is nice and spacious, big windows that lets in plenty of sunshine. There is window seating with stools and also tables. The staff is really friendly, helpful and efficient. My favorite is their egg and cheese on a sesame seed bagel, toasted. They serve everything up nice and fresh. Lots of parking. Super convenient to just pop in and out on my way to work. read more

Delicious bagels, delicious cream cheese, delicious bagel sandwiches. Pretty well priced. There's not a lot of arguing with the staples here. They are doing them very well. The only thing that would push it to 5 stars would be a bit warmer customer service. It definitely felt like I was placing my order with the Soup Nazi. I mean... he didn't yell, but I politely stood in line, scooted to the front - there was barely eye contact made or pleasantries. I stepped to the left, and waited for my order to be ready. It just could have been a good deal warmer. That being said, the food is excellent. We actually grabbed bagel sandwiches from here 1 day, and enjoyed it so much we went back the next day. I ordered my usual ( Everything bagel, scallion cream cheese, tomato). It was very good. Bagel was a solid chewy soft texture. They put an egregious amount of cream cheese on it... so if you like that you're gonna love this place. If you don't - just push some off like I did. I would recommend the bagels here with a catch. Do not get any egg sandwich here. If you are looking for bagels/cream cheese these are worth the trip. But their weird/gross scrabble (whut?) eggs are these gross preformed patty eggs that make me have all the sad feelings. Why is it so hard to find a place that sells good bagels and a fried egg on top? I don't want a microwaved egg, not now, not ever. If this place starts making their eggs fresh (and fried) they will be a top breakfast spot. I can't imagine they sell a lot of the scrabbled eggs to people more than once. read more

I stopped by this place while in the area hoping to find some really good bagels. We purchased half a dozen bagels and brought them home to try. What I appreciated most about the place was the variety of bagels available. They had flavors I've not seen before, like a spinach bagel. However, the texture of the bagels I found to be very average. Honestly, I felt the bagels were only slightly better/different than a bagel I would get a Giant. I thought maybe i had a bad bagel, but all 6 bagels gave me that feeling. So, I was a bit disappointed. Although the bagels weren't bad, they weren't good enough to go out of the way to get. BEWARE the cash register scheme and/or incompetent employees. Finding employees is difficult, I get it. But what happened here today was truly ridiculous. I asked for TWO everything bagels to go, and selected a small container of scallion cream cheese. The employee rang up my purchase and said "$14.28." For 2 (TWO) untoasted, uncut everything bagels straight out of the bin, and a 2 oz container of scallion cream cheese. When I questioned the amount she rang it up again and now it was $12.78! I asked her how much the bagels were per bagel and the cream cheese was $2.10. Now the 2 teenagers standing by heard me, and one of them shot me a look - what's the matter with this old lady? Those 2 finally stepped in and rang up 2 more times and it was still incorrect - finally $6 and change was the total. Get a calculator and people who know how to use one! I can do the math in MY brain but it's a bridge too far for the THREE employees today. Not a "sorry" or any acknowledgment of the incompetence shown. Ugh. read more

I'm always down for a solid bagel/bagel sandwich and decided to check this place out. Definitely a solid place to grab bagels or even bagels to toast at home. There was a good variety of bagel flavors as well as sandwich and cream cheese options. Prices are reasonable and it's made fresh to order. There can be a little bit of a wait if there's a lot of people. Everything we ordered was solid! You can also opt to order the sandwiches on bread or a wrap. Just wish there was an online ordering option to limit wait time but I guess all good things come to those who wait. The pigs in a blanket were sitting on the counter so it would've been nice if those were warmed up too, but otherwise a solid place and would definitely come back! read more
