Someone from another prenatal exercise class told me about Nature's Playhouse. Sounded like a great place to get some sympathetic momma time, which I wasn't getting from my OB or anywhere else for that matter.
My husband I signed up for an expecting couple's yoga session for only $50. They have these have quarter or so, so it was perfect timing for us to try it out. Julianna and Tessa were great instructors and we got some pre-natal bonding timing. I liked it so much, I signed up for drop-in classes. I started with pre-natal yoga, to supplement another drop in yoga class. I really enjoyed the opportunity at the beginning of each session to listen to each other's introductions (how far along are you, is this the first, 2nd, etc. baby.). We don't spend too long on it, but it definitely reinforces the feeling of community, rather than just a good way to get some exercise in.
At some point, I dropped the other regular yoga class. Even with modifications, I wasn't getting enough out those sessions after the 2nd trimester and this class was set up specifically for pregnant momma bodies. I hope to join back again at some point, but this pre-natal yoga is the right fit for my body right now.
Since I started November (?), I've also tried out the dancing for baby class. This is super fun, but a little challenging now that I'm so far along.
I also got to sit in on a baby carriers class and try out a variety of carriers. Overall, really happy to have found this business and caring community! read more
