She always asks the class if there's anything we would like to focus on for that day, to which she immediately responds to using improv to cater to your needs. Her hands on adjustments are subtle yet engaging and allows you to deepen your practice significantly. She is a tremendous asset to Citizen Yoga. The other instructors and receptionists are also very kind and personable, they never meet a stranger.

Second, I took a Hatha class and mentioned to the teacher that I just started Ashtanga yoga last year and the studio closed. She said very sarcastically "This is not Ashtanga yoga!" Which made me feel unconformtable. Third, the class had 0 sight lines. You cannot see the teacher. Direction was very wishy washy. Fourth, I won't be coming back.

The instructors are friendly and the space is peaceful and calm, even being right on Woodward. So far I have tried gentle hatha (was my first time practicing hatha but Maura made it so approachable) and their restorative class, both of which made me feel rejuvenated. You know a really good shavasana where you forget you're at a yoga class? I've been able to achieve that here, and it's the best.

This is the type of small business that has all the things you need to refresh your soul. The space was decorated with cute quotes, plants, and motivational notes. Everyone had cubbies for their shoes and other belongings. Restrooms were available. We were all provided black yoga mats for the class. Puppy yoga was so much fun! The class was set up as half of the time dedicated to yoga and the other half dedicated to the pups. Emma, our instructor, was very friendly and lead us through various beginner friendly poses. The puppies for my class were chihuahua mixes. All of the puppies were adoptable. It felt nice knowing a part of the proceeds from my ticket went to the puppies!

I can see muscle definition like never before in my legs, it's crazy. The yoga classes are great. I really enjoy the Yin class, it's my hour of mental health each week. My friend got me started on Yoga Basics. It's not necessarily an easy class but rather focuses on the right posture. As someone whose journey to Yoga started at bigger gyms this is really important to me. They take the time to explain the proper positions and if you are off they will tell you how to correct it. (After an IT injury, I've learned the importance of posture!). There are a several classes I haven't tried like Booty Bunz and gym sticks that people love. There is also tighten and tone that I like but totally kicks my butt. Zumba is fun and I recommend trying out different instructors because they all have their own take on things.

All experience levels and all fitness levels. There is no right or wrong posture at The Yoga Garden. You don't have to be "good at yoga" to get the good from the yoga at The Garden. It's about showing up, focusing on your breath, taking amazing yoga classes with phenomenal yoga teachers, amongst a community of kindhearted and loving individuals. All of the amenities are top-notch. An absolutely beautiful studio that is always clean and comfortable. The studio is easily accessible with a beautiful outdoor space for mingling after class. Quite a bonus is free ample parking; hard to come by in this community. If you're looking for a place to get the most amazing practice, that one hour of time for yourself, even if that means just lying on your mat and focusing on your breath... this is the place for you.
