Dropped into the SUP yoga at Belle Isle. It was so much fun. I saw the setup at beach and registered last minute - they totally welcomed/accommodated me. Class was well ran (they supply boards/anchors) and no one fell into the water. If ever wanted to try, go! You won't regret it - and the views of the city are amazing They let you paddle around after class and offer to take pictures. Their studio is also great on Mack. I took handful of classes that I enjoyed. read more

A highly disappointing experience. 1) The "hot yoga" is a dry heat and lukewarm at best. Not the standard of hot classes in NYC or Chicago. 2) Bad policy -- Pre-Registration has no hold on getting into class. We were turned away from class even though we already registered, and walk-ins were accepted "just in case those who pre-registered didn't show up." This would of course be understandable if we walked in LATE, but showing up on time for a class you already signed up for should secure your spot. 3) We were then not offered anything for getting displaced from the class we should have been able to take. This is just bad customer service. As someone home for the holidays who grew up in the area, I expect much more from a Grosse Pointe establishment. read more

I love going to Full Lotus Yoga. It's like a family. I've been able to make friends with many of the staff. They show that yoga isn't just a thing you do, but everything in your life connects with it. I've been able to work out a lot of physical and mental struggles throughout the years going to FLY. Its a very no pressure environment. They always communicate changes in the schedule. They always respond back to you if you have any questions. FLY has definitely been a key element to my own personal growth and I have much love to everyone at FLY, past and present. read more

Took my first class with Nicole this evening. Sunday 8/18/19. Great class. Found her instructions right on. Slow but with a great sweat. I actually rested a few times. Don't know if it was my bum shoulder or the heat. I live in CA as well as reside in Michigan and I'm not use to the humidity after practicing in a dryer climate for the past 6 years. This is my favorite yoga studio by far and I have tried quite a few; I am definitely glad a friend recommended it to me! Most studios I have been to, I like 1-2 teachers/classes. So far I have had classes with 6 of the 10 teachers and I love them all! I particularly enjoy the Ashtanga, hot vinyasa and yoga flex classes. The room is always heated to a toasty temperature to help with stretching, they have a good sized entry area (larger than most I have seen) and they have inexpensive street parking (free after 6PM and on Sundays). I would not recommend their regular classes if you are new, but they did add an intro to yoga class that I would recommend. Also, your first week is free. read more

I scoured the Internet for a yoga studio in the area and I felt particularly drawn to Full Lotus because of their many class options (including slow flow Vinyasa, which is what I was seeking). I decided to give it a go, and signed up for their free unlimited intro week for new students. Parking was ample at all of the times I have attended a class, and every instructor and classmate has been nothing but chill (in a very professional way!), compassionate, and encouraging. The Full Lotus instructors constantly remind students to practice for themselves only - so many of us need to be gently reminded of this, and it's SO helpful! We are encouraged to make it our own. The studio is absolutely beautiful! Many students were commenting that a redesign had taken place recently. There are a few changing stalls and all of the accessories you might need - blankets, blocks, mats, etc. The room heats nicely for hot vinyasa, and looks/feels absolutely stunning for my favorite class, candlelight slow flow! I noticed some other cool special classes coming up, and they do a community donation class on Sunday mornings! I am looking forward to continuing beyond my free week and investing in a package of classes - it's life changing and much needed self care. read more

I tried a few different studios while I was in town visiting family with the hopes of finding one to go to each time I'm visiting. The studio is easy to find and there's plenty of parking. I'm fairly new to the yoga scene but I felt very welcome there. I went to gentle flow vinyasa and got a nice workout in. The studio was very clean and very pretty. I'll definitely return here each time I visit my family!! read more

I have been practicing yoga at Full Lotus Yoga for several years. The staff, environment and classes are exceptional. Liz, the owner is truly compassionate about yoga and the community. When COVID came into play, although it is a challenging time, she has not skipped a beat and started including online classes so we could continue our practice during this terrible time. I started doing yoga to help my body recover from my CrossFit workout regimen and I couldn't have asked for a better studio. They are very welcoming and accommodate every skill level. I am becoming more and more impressed with the staff and teachers as they are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Their class packages are priced very reasonably, which really leaves me with only positive things to say. I would recommend this studio to anyone; there are no downsides to practicing here. read more

Just took my first class earlier this week. Wow! So amazing! Betty was the instuctor, she is amazing. Knowing that this was my first yoga session she helped out with all the positions and she all around has a calming effect. Yoga is more about creating and taking in positive energy, but wow what a workout. A total all over body work out! I WILL be returning! read more

Small, quaint and quiet is how l like my yoga studio and FLY has got it all! I usually take the Slow Flow Vinyasa, Yin Yoga or the Candlelight Slow Flow classes. Each instructor I've had was very welcoming and I liked the pace of their class. Can't wait to go back! read more

Wow - I just took my first class at this studio and am so happy I went! I moved to Detroit about six months ago from New Orleans, where I went to a studio that I loved. I've tried three studios in the city before attending class here, and this was by far the best class I've taken since I came to Michigan. The instructor had a great way about getting you out of your comfort zone while still giving you the freedom to modify poses if you needed to. It was challenging, but felt very personal and spiritual at the same time - no blasting techno while you awkwardly try to move through a ridiculous set of poses that the teacher throws out at you. LOVED IT! Will be back for sure. read more

I visited Full Lotus Yoga because I had a Groupon deal. I'm definitely considering continuing with classes once my Groupon expires (depending on what my tax return looks like!). They have a great selection of different types of classes. I also appreciated that they kept the front doors locked during my class - I felt a lot better knowing my belongings weren't going to be messed with by random people. The location is very convenient and my instructor was great. Will definitely be returning this week! read more

I was looking for a yoga studio, so I hopped on Google and found studios in my area, curious what each offered. And each time I did, my search kept leading me back to the FLY website. While reading about the classes, I noticed that they offered the 1st week of classes for FREE to try. Who doesn't enjoy free? So after the 1st class I was hooked. Each instructor is so welcoming and I love the positive words that are used during each class. I also appreciate when the instructors know when a new person has joined the class, they make a point to give an alternative pose and not to push yourself and be mindful of your body. I can tell you after each class I am in a much better mood. Yoga does a mind and body good. read more

Absolutely love this peaceful wonderfully staffed studio. I started with a Groupon 2 years ago and got hooked. Liz, the owner and her staff, are very mindful and provide support to all students whether new to yoga or experienced. Each instructor is unique in their style but guides you through a fulfilling meditative practice. I can honestly say I have always felt better leaving the studio then when I arrive both physically and mentally. A really nice diverse community that I'm very grateful to have discovered. read more

I stumbled upon Full Lotus Yoga on Groupon. Even though I have 10 classes, they still offered a free first week. I have been looking around for a new yoga studio on the east side because I moved back in June (my favorite studio is Everyday Yoga in Clawson). I tried out a couple of other studios in GP, but none fit what I was looking for, until I tried Full Lotus Yoga. The staff is very courteous and I really enjoy the Candlelight Slow Flow yoga classes as they are everything I am looking for. They are relaxing and I am able to push my limits, if I choose, and I can wind down from a stressful day. I highly recommend this studio for any serious yogis (not just someone looking for a workout). read more

Great little yoga studio. The focus of the instructors is on mind-body connection and personal growth, as opposed to booming hair metal and shouted instructions (an experience at a neighboring studio). I hope this place lasts well beyond the Groupon Bubble. read more

There are a number of fantastic qualities FLY or Full Lotus Yoga has. Firstly, there is a variety of classes and held at many times. Some days there are 7 classes held throughout the day. Now this means a lot to me. I know some yoga studios offer classes at some early hour and then maybe one evening class (really frustrating for some of us who have interesting schedules!). Not only this, but FLY has weekend classes including Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday night. Further, throughout the terrible winter we had this year, FLY did NOT cancel its classes like some studios I knew. To be honest, I was trying out a couple of different studios in the area and the 'others' cancelled the few classes they offered A LOT because of the weather and holidays. What is the point to pay so much money and have classes canceled?! This made me so grateful to belong to FLY. Furthermore, there is a mobile the owner carries with her if there is some sort of schedule problem on your end or the studio's that one can text or call. I thought this was so clever! And so, the frequency and availability of the schedule is a highlight. Next, there is a strong sense of community at this studio. The teachers are warm and welcoming and not intimidating. There is also community yoga on Sundays that concentrate on a charity for a particular month. I go every week with my Dad and it is a bonding experience for us as well as being active in the community. I also have made numerous new friends and FLY has become a second home with comfortable smiles and laughs (even if you fall out of your half moon or dancing shiva!). Overall, it is a wonderful place to practice yoga and I feel blessed to call it 'my studio.' I would recommend this place for anyone, any age, any level. read more
