I especially look forward to the Saturday morning sessions, with Annette. Best way to start the day is with a good stretch in a hot studio, for a good sweat. Great community of people, always fun to meet other yoga practitioners, coming from such a variety of backgrounds. Great management and staff that make me feel at home. Hope to stretch with you all at bold flow sometime soon! =] ~Peace and Love! Jack

I know someone who teaches at this studio so I decided to make the trek to take a Yin class on a Friday afternoon. I must say it was worth the drive! Despite being located in a busy area of town and above a Trader Joe's, once inside it is serene and peaceful. I was promptly greeted when I walked through the door and she immediately said "you must be Karen!" Yay for being aware of newbies and making them feel welcomed. I signed a waiver, got a tour and settled into the very calming yoga room. Michael's Yin class was amazing and just what I needed. He happened to focus a lot that day on hip opener exercises so I was in luck. Despite holding poses for extended periods of time, I was never uncomfortable or in pain. Michael did a great job of showing modifications for many of the poses, thus allowing people at all skill levels to do the work. Not only did I leave feeling looser but I felt more relaxed and at peace. I really enjoyed Michael's teaching style, he is very down to earth and calming.

I still haven't taken a class here, so I can't give 5 stars...but the effort to be neighborly deserves recognition. Disrespectful to the neighbors. I, along with others have had to put in several noise complaints. The landlord is taking action for the noise level rendering him unable to rent out his residences. The dance studio that was marketed to the landlord as a yoga studio, is small enough that the music volume can be controlled, however, the owner jacks the music up and wears a completely unnecessary headset all of which is entirely disruptive to the neighbors. Rude when approached. Overall terrible for the neighborhood. Don't recommend supporting.

The sequence was so well-rounded, and her cues made so much sense. I appreciate when I can tell a teacher really knows what she's talking about, and Christy is the real deal. Ana's barre class is also fantastic! Finally, PiYo with Becky which was a killerrrrr and such a good workout. Do it. The studio is absolutely beautiful and the manager Christy (different Christy from the teacher and owner!) is so, so delightful. Prices are great, parking is easy. Great spot!

I'm not like every other person who joins a gym in January because of New Year's Resolutions…read more Nope, I joined because I have an important event in a couple months and I need to get my butt in gear (literally)! I had thought I would join potentially for the weight loss benefits of going to the gym regularly, but had overlooked the benefit of endurance, both physically and mentally because being around people you may not want to be around is a special kind of endurance! I'm going to a conference out of state. Instead of loud drunk adults, this place has loud children and instead of walking for miles, seemingly in circles, you get to dance them in circles or step them or Aqua Zumba them. In any case, I feel like I'll be fit on all levels in time for my event. I had actually considered NC a couple years ago but wasn't fully sold at the time. Recently, I gave it another look and I think they have improved their website and now have an app. In addition, the membership options seem easier to understand and they have added an InScan / Body Scan machine that's free for members. That alone is worth the price of admission. It will tell you in excruciating detail how unfit you are but, hey, hopefully, you can only improve! Members can scan as much as they want but obviously, once a month is the most you should do to actually establish a trend. On membership, I opted for the month to month no contact one: $71 and no initiation fee. While that may seem high, I really need classes to feel engaged and motivated and most classes, even on Class Pass are around $20 to $25 a class, so if I go to one class a week at NC, I'm already ahead! One neat thing, the monthly pass just runs 30 days then deactivates. If you try to scan your card, it makes a noise and the staff will charge you to re-up for the next 30 days. For someone that has gotten burned on gym contacts more than I care to recall, the fact that this just expires is such a benefit to me. One less thing to worry about. You can also get the monthly membership and family and all kinds of flavors with different costs and contracts but for me, this was the perfect option. I mentioned classes and man, they have a ton: dance, Pilates, step, yoga, spin, Aqua Zumba, and they even have sports like drop-in pickleball! I've already taken a couple classes and really enjoy them. They have the app and you can add a class to your calendar from the app. You can't sign up for a class through the app though but hopefully that's in the works. You can also check into the gym with the app or with your keychain card, so that's handy. They have various lectures and courses and competitions which I'm looking forward to participating in as well. Also, they have a water bottle refill station which is great. No juice bar or anything but very close to a ton of places to quickly undo whatever you just did at the gym. Now for the neutrals and negatives: Yes, the bathrooms are old but I don't find them to be dirty or slippery or whatever some reviewers have said. They have lockers but bring your own lock and they are just day lockers. Half the time, I don't need a locker so it's not a huge deal for me but YMMV. Parking can be tricky. Free on the street if you can find it otherwise, pay with the Passport app to park in the lot. Children. It's weird if you're used to only going to gyms where it's adults only and also mostly going places where it's adults only. They are only allowed in the classes for them I think so there's that (I wish the app would let you filter those out because they have some kids classes I might want to take them you click in and see the age limits. Maybe I want to take "Creative Dance" or "Fit and Fun"). Overall, I'm already very happy with this choice and may very well convert my monthly membership to a contract. Eventually. Maybe...

We love the NC Fit club for the kids in the fall/winter/spring and all the cool classes she can do after school. They have a great indoor pool, workout area, and lots of fun classes for every age. We love coming here and it's such a nice place for the kids and adults alike!

Let me start by explaining how I found this amazing gem here in Detroit. I wanted to do something…read morespecial for my teen daughter. So I looked for events on Facebook... well they were having a event to support and empower and teach all young women their worth and discuss situations thay they can overcome anything including past trama and beat the stigma. So when you pull up it just looks like the normal building on Mack Ave. I actually opened a business 3 doors down from here and I would of NEVER IMAGINED WHAT I SEEN. I am a avid reviewer on Yelp and Google. But never in the time of my 17 years of reviews have I been litterly speechless. Wow. I mean wow. The ENERGY I. Here is more welcoming than your grandma's house on Christmas morning. Us as women have so so so much to learn about eachother. There is a space her. a safe space for girls and women to go to. Share eachothers stories and past tramas and work together to help each young lady overcome and beat there trama and help them realize how powerful and beautiful we all are in our own way. Now the pictures I posted are just a taste of the magic within. Anything to help yourself spirituality, emotionally, physically resides within this secret Gem!!! The owner is so kind and truly puts everything into helping others. Just like me I feel I was put threw trama to overcome it and use what helped me to pass along to others who can't seem to be their best versions of themselves. They offer to much here. I strongly encourage you to check out the website and see the other services they offer. Out of every single review I have posted if you had to read one this is the most powerful and dear to my heart review. I can't begin to express how this owner and this place has given me so much hope in the world that there still are amazing people who truly care and give hope to all. I plan on having a powerful journey with this amazing business. I have so much good and love to share and I am starting here God bless.
