I know someone who teaches at this studio so I decided to make the trek to take a Yin class on a Friday afternoon. I must say it was worth the drive! Despite being located in a busy area of town and above a Trader Joe's, once inside it is serene and peaceful. I was promptly greeted when I walked through the door and she immediately said "you must be Karen!" Yay for being aware of newbies and making them feel welcomed. I signed a waiver, got a tour and settled into the very calming yoga room. Michael's Yin class was amazing and just what I needed. He happened to focus a lot that day on hip opener exercises so I was in luck. Despite holding poses for extended periods of time, I was never uncomfortable or in pain. Michael did a great job of showing modifications for many of the poses, thus allowing people at all skill levels to do the work. Not only did I leave feeling looser but I felt more relaxed and at peace. I really enjoyed Michael's teaching style, he is very down to earth and calming.

They include nuanced refinements of each pose as they talk you through the class. I've learned a great deal about my body and expanded my skill set through the repetition of the 26/2 pose sequence. The vibe of the studio is friendly, calm, and peaceful. It has a lot of character and charm -- I prefer it vastly to the hip, fashion-y yoga studios around.

The people at the front desk were very kind as well. The studio is a little small, so I definitely wouldn't suggest bringing a giant backpack and a gym bag. But there are hooks to hold your coats which is really nice. The studio space itself is gorgeous and warm and very comfortable to practice in. My only issue is the parking situation. I went to an early-ish morning class so I was able to get street parking, but by the time the next class was about to start, there were no spots for for miles it seemed like Definitely try this place out if you're looking for a new yoga studio. They're relatively expensive, but with the space and the great instructor I had, I personally think it's worth it.

The dance studio that was marketed to the landlord as a yoga studio, is small enough that the music volume can be controlled, however, the owner jacks the music up and wears a completely unnecessary headset all of which is entirely disruptive to the neighbors. Rude when approached. Overall terrible for the neighborhood. Don't recommend supporting.

The sequence was so well-rounded, and her cues made so much sense. I appreciate when I can tell a teacher really knows what she's talking about, and Christy is the real deal. Ana's barre class is also fantastic! Finally, PiYo with Becky which was a killerrrrr and such a good workout. Do it. The studio is absolutely beautiful and the manager Christy (different Christy from the teacher and owner!) is so, so delightful. Prices are great, parking is easy. Great spot!
