When I felt the sauna hurting and getting too hot, I literally had to get my cell phone and call the business, as she couldn't hear me call her name. There was only 1 person working & the instructions on how to change the heat were never given. She was young and sweet, but I literally came out with burns on my legs. Most studios I've been to at least have a help button for emergencies, or they even have entertainment, such as TVs. But this place didn't have any of it. My home sauna that has been broken for months and I have been on a quest to find a comparable sauna…read morein the wild as I await my replacement parts that are literally coming on a slow boat from China. I have been to three other places (Sirona, Meta Physica, and Motor City Spa). So far, the sauna at Massage Green is the best. I typically use my home one three times a week, so this has been a bit of a hardship. I hadn't sauna-ed in a few weeks and I was feeling sluggish and my skin was meh. After my first visit to Massage Green's sauna, I felt bright eyed and bushy tailed again! I'm about three visits in so far and getting my overall groove back. Pros 1. It is hot when I get there. Several others I have tried around town are not to full temp. Like that is the whole point! 2. It is spacious. Several around town are tiny little jail cells. And you can't even call them little sweat boxes because they are not even hot. The bench is almost long enough to fully recline (I am about 5'5"). 3. Robe provided. The robe is a nice touch if you need to run to the restroom mid-sauna. 4. Flexible / reasonable plans: I was able to an 8 pack of saunas for $100. They have other packs and plans for massages and facials which I may look into as well as I near the end of this pack. 5. Spacious parking lot/easy access for major roads and highways 6. Clean and calm interior 7. Nice staff 8. Ability to book and cancel on-line. Cancellation for massage and facial services is free up to 7pm the night before but for sauna seems to be fine up to the hour before, but I don't want to take advantage and ruin it for everyone, but I did have to cancel with just a couple hours notice and they didn't charge me 9. Filtered water dispenser in the hall Cons: 1. No shower 2. No chromotheraphy lights 3. Can't change the music in the room 4. Towels are scratchy Tips if you are going to sauna: 1. Bring your own big Yeti cup or similar for in the sauna 2. Don't forget whatever skivvies you want to wear in the sauna (I like to wear soft cotton boxers and a soft lounge bra) 3. Bring slides/sandals in case you need to run to the bathroom mid-sauna. Also good for leaving, if it is cold so you can really soak up the cold blast after 4. Don't forget the clothes for after! I usually go right after working out, so I am not putting my workout clothes back on after 5. I bring a pack of shower-wipe things to wipe off after. I am definitely still funky after cause I wear hippie deodorant and I am definitely going to run an errand after while I'm on that side of town regardless of the funk-factor. Hey, look at me, keeping social distancing alive in 2023!

Well let me tell you - DO get their "Famous D'Artagnan' Ribeye." It's now $40 (vs. $36 on the website menu) but trust me - steak hits different sitting in a robe post-sauna. It's 16 oz and you get two sides with it. Onto the bath house details -- they're super friendly and will give you a tour if it's your first time. High-level: there are men & women's locker rooms, but all the fun stuff is downstairs: dry sauna, wet sauna, cold plunge. When we went, the dry sauna was closed/broken SO it was such an experience to be in a packed wet sauna. It looked like like there was platza happening - like the whole getting smacked by leafy branches while laying down in the wet sauna. Ha. It smelled like eucalyptus to me though! It was actually pretty nice. The wet sauna is three tiers of seating and since heat rises, if you want to feel like a steamed dumpling -- sit at the top! Then, from the sauna - you jump into the cold plunge and then rinse and repeat. The cold plunge was only about 65 degrees - I wanted it to be colder! The Schvitz is very old school - wooden paneling, black & white tile. So, it's by no means a Canyon Ranch, but it is an experience and so unique! "Weird and wonderful" as a friend put it. All the folks working from the front desk to the kitchen were so so friendly - I'll definitely be back!

My intention was to begin working out under the supervision of a highly trained, knowledgeable trainer. What I was introduced to was just the opposite. I called the Manager and requested to have the person who manages the trainers call me to set up a new appointment with a new trainer but no one ever returned my call. As a result, I didn't receive (but should've demanded) the direction I needed to fulfill my aspirations. Coupled with old, sometimes broken equipment, dirty/dingy workout areas and especially locker room, I seldom used my yearly membership. I recommend prior to signing a contract to really spend time evaluating this facility and more importantly benchmarking other nearby facilities to ensure you understand what you will have to live with until your contract expires.

Last June I tore my bicep and then froze my membership because I needed to have surgery and everything was up in air. I had surgery, was unable to workout and my membership was frozen. Randomly I get a charge on my credit card from them when I hadn't been to the gym in MONTHS. I reached out to the branch and they said they had no record of my membership so I called chase to dispute it. Apparently it was reversed. Oh well, whatever. I'm unable to work out through the end of January 2024 and I know at this point my contract was up. They continued to call and text me that my membership was past due- had to get a new card because my old one expired and never gave them the info because I was UNABLE to workout per doctors orders. Either way, I hadn't been there in over 6 months. At this present time, I'd wager it's been at least 8 months if not more since I've been there and I just received an email from a collection company. FOR WHAT? I know I did not sign a 3.5-4 year contract for a gym. TAKE A HIKE. Your gym smells, your equipment is always broken, your employees screw around on their phones and don't even bother to acknowledge you.
