I love hot bones! They made me fall in love with Pilates. It's intense but Kristen was amazing and so articulated in her instructions

My body has seen a hugeeeee difference since I have began. I noticed since Iv been coming to barre, I have been super toned and so defined, I love it! Super obsessed with the workouts, every class Barre has to offer is great! It's the small movements for me. You would have never thought using small movements would activate muscles you didn't even know existed!! Iv been doing Barre for about 8 months now, I started in February and I will not be leaving anytime soon! I go at least 3 times a week! All the instructors are amazing, MaryLiz is my favorite! And I have to say, I have knee and back pain but Barre workouts do NOT impact any of the problems Ive had, if anything it's helping my knees and back!! Winter is almost here and it's time to get in, I promise you 2026 is gonna be a hot girl summa!! If you join now!!! They then decided to tell us once we already wasted our time and gas that you have to be 18 years old to take the class. If there is an age limit that you have to meet that should be on the website so people don't waste time like we did.

Blink and you'll miss it - the sign is small and in the window front. It's not a huge place, and most of their space extends the long way back through the building, leaving the actual storefront you see on the street rather narrow and small. When you walk inside, you see the super cool, urban loft style to the studio - one large room with gleaming hardwood floor, exposed brick wall, and Detroit artwork hung about. They offer group classes and personal training sessions only, so this is not your standard "drop in and work out on your own" gym. The schedule has regular spin, zumba, pilates, and yoga classes, and personal training sessions can be scheduled by appointment. Classes are reasonably priced, you must schedule and reserve ahead (no drop ins) because the place is small and they don't want to overbook. But, the scheduling system is online, very simple, and allows you to add in or cancel nearly right up until the class start time. Every class I've gone to was a hit - energetic and helpful instructors and good music! The clientele tends to be lots of young professionals who live nearby in Corktown, Midtown, downtown, etc. and everyone is very friendly. All levels of fitness welcome. I only wish True Body would add a few more varieties of classes to their schedule (kickboxing, please!!!) and maybe some more Saturday day times, so I could go more often. Check the website for a $5 class deal for first timers, and also their month unlimited packages.

Located in a rather sparse looking part of town, there's ample street parking. They offer a TRUE AND FREE WEEK OF CLASSES. You know the drill with these gyms, they offer you a free week pass but you have to go in person, get the spiel from one of their sales reps, fill out tons of crap, and get hounded with ads and phone calls for the rest of your life until you join - not so here. Go online and sign up with their class scheduler, and if you've ever taken any class at one of these boutique gyms then you're already familiar with the Mind Body Connect platform. Add the "one week free" item to your cart and sign up for classes. DONE. I walked in that same day for a 90min spin class. No calls or questions when I stopped going. Some might prefer more attention, which I get, but I was thrilled with their hands off approach. Totally friendly, worth checking out. For you spinners out there, they have a series of classes that work towards riding a full century. I'm definitely going to check that out when it comes around again.

I rarely write reviews but often use them to help find great new things. I had to share my…read moreWONDERFUL, rave review about my experience with Karen and her Go-To Pilates instruction. I researched where to begin my Pilates journey for quite awhile and am so glad I found Karen. I signed up for weekly private sessions (newbie!) on the reformer and looked forward to it each week. Even if I was tired before the class, Karen's instructing and positivity could turn that around. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and welcoming. She helped me gradually improve and learn more complicated sequences without it seeming too complex. I told her that my body, especially my back, always felt like a million bucks after our sessions and have referred many friends to see her. I recently moved away from the area and she was instrumental in helping me find a new Pilates home. She also helped me learn how to do stretches at home and recommended equipment. She even let me try out her roller at home for an extended time because I didn't want to buy a large roller right before moving out of state-who does that? My husband, who thought Pilates was only for girls, even started Pilates because I raved about her classes so much. She tailored our duet class so that we each had a great session! Karen is not only a wonderful teacher but also a genuinely caring person. I will definitely book a class when I am back in the area and wish I could still make it for my weekly sessions!

What I love about Strong Body Yoga and Fitness is the location, the classes offered and the…read moreinstructors. I usually go to the Slow Flow yoga class and I am pretty new to yoga. Sam is always encouraging and she, the instructors and the other participants don't judge you if you are struggling to do a pose (or if you have terrible balance like me and fall all over the place). Every Slow Flow class I've been to is completely different than any other and each one of them is challenging in a different way. I've been to several of these classes with different instructors and they are all amazing and positive people. The Sculpt class is good too; the time doesn't always work for me, but whenever I've attended, it is a great energizing workout and Victoria is a great motivator. I am really glad to have this studio so close to my neighbourhood and to have met such great people there. I like that Sam has offered Beginner Yoga Classes which are especially great for people new to yoga and are intimidated, Sampler Classes (3 different classes in a 90 minute session) and is having a Friday Night Friends night, because I can try out other classes and also bring some friends so they can try it out.
