I've made appointments here several times and when I walk in, repeat what I have come in for, the rude and dismissive owner informs me with "we don't take appointments for that" meaning that I now have to wait, instead of having my appointment time being honored. I have had great service here before, such as with Long and Tina. Which is the only reason why I have given them two stars instead of just one. However, this last time I went I was grossly disappointed in the service. But the former salon made my nails look horrible. I was tired of it. I was turned off. I walked into Nature's Nails after 4 different salons. They did Gel X and they was able to service me immediately. John was my tech. He was quick- he removed my old set, cut my nails and set me up with a new set. He knew what he was doing and I could tell by how he handled his tools and his efficiency and that gave me comfort. I was intrigued by the application process and loved how quick and painless everything was-no extensive drilling. My nails came out beautiful. The first was with an appointment not kept, and I walked out. I returned and it's been about 6-9 months. So today, 5/1/2025, I had a gel mani, regular pedi, and a 15 min. neck/shoulder massage. I always carry with me a typewritten note regarding the prices for consistency and more proof are my credit card receipts, consisting of charges for a gel mani and regular pedi, with $2 credit for having both and $2 deducted for using a credit card. That's it. However, these prices are, unfortunately, subject to change depending on the person at the till! Today was no exception! Double talk! Now, a charge for polish removal never before charged, several insults and arguments, and walk aways. Could not give me the numbers on a piece of scrap paper used with a pen because the numbers were and are air-born. My head was spinning as I left. I've been coming here for a few months now with consistent service with Jon. I show my appreciation with my loyalty to him and gratuity. But unfortunately, I have to write this review about my awful experience last night with a nail tech that did my gel manicure last night because Jon is out of town. One of the reasons I usually like coming here is because of how fast and efficient Jon is. This woman took almost 2 hrs to do this service and it looks like a student did my nails. I still have overgrown cuticles, the French tip line is extremely unclean. Each nail feels like it already about to break because she applied the gel uneven. She had to add an acrylic because one of my natural nails was broken, she applied it at an angle so it's projecting upward. After all of this, I didn't want to embarrass this nail tech so I talked to the person taking payment and explained and showed him what's wrong, I asked if he could discount it because I'm obviously going to have to come back in a couple to days to re-do the entire thing. (Which is more annoying, having to spend more time). He said it's my fault that I didn't ask Jon for a referral for while he is out of town. I don't see how it's my problem that they have someone working there that does not know how to properly do nails but charges the same price??? I'm not one to go back on forth about something so shocking and dumb. So I just paid and left because I didn't want to spend anymore time than I already had. VERY FRUSTRATING, to say the least. The seats are comfortable and the location is close to me and it is convenient. However, the last time I did a gel color change, my polish started peeling one by one I went back and fixed a couple of them and I came back home and more fell off and he kept telling me that it's because of my cuticles I do like to clean my cuticles at home and I have the proper professional tools and I don't have extra cuticles that would be pushing the nail polish off. I think it was more of a base issue and it didn't adhere properly to my nails because it was prepped properly. It's unfortunate because after a week I've already gone back twice. Spent time sitting there and now I need to probably do a whole replacement. I had 2 bad experiences. #1-The owner told the nail tech to hurry up and finish my nails. I appreciated that the nail tech was trying to do a good job but the owner looks at customers as an assembly line. #2- A couple days ago my daughter and I were getting our nails done and there were two people waiting. An older black woman asked for a manicure and the nail tech, Sam, told her an hour wait and to come back. Right after that, a white woman with her daughters came in and they wanted a manicure and pedicure and he told them 20minutes. Then another white woman came in and he said 30 minutes. I had the worst experience at Nature Nails today with Brian. I have had my nails done here several times before but never with this guy. He was so rude from the beginning. He was rushing and filing my nails really fast. I asked him if he could fix an uneven area of my thumb because he had overfilled one side and not enough on the other. His response was, "are you going to be be trouble? I knew I had a bad feeling about you since you walked in." Who talks to a customer like that? Who wants to pay someone to talk down to them like that? I told him he doesn't have to do my nails if he doesn't want to. He got up saying he didn't like me since I walked in the door. He said, " ya, I don't want to do your nails." He proceeded to talk shit about me in his language to another lady that was working there. This prejudice jerk had already decided he didn't like me because I asked him to do his job? I was pleasant, smiling and polite from the moment I walked in. At this point I held back my tears and decided I want to give my business to someone who is professional. I walked out and will never go back there again. My only concern with respect to cleanliness at Nature's Nails is I have noticed some people wear gloves and others don't... so one star off for not being consistent across the board. All I can hope for is to not get an infection after visiting this nail salon. This establishment DOES NOT SANITIZE THEIR TOOLS or anything at all actually. The reuse items back to back without cleaning or sanitizing their items. The nail tech went to cut my toe nails for a pedicure and an already cut piece of nail fell out of the nail clipper. I was in SHOCK. He just tapped it to shake anything else out and went for it. To add a cherry on top, between coats he used his finger to clean the wax out of his ear and then continued. I didn't know what to do. This is the same case for the manicure tools. I asked them to spray my nails with alcohol because I didn't know what else to do. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I came here based on a recommendation so I didn't read the reviews, but now that I have (I learned my lesson), I see I'm not the only person that has experienced this. One star because this is a basic practice of a salon. I don't know how they aren't shut down.
