After receiving the message from Anna I decided to go back and give them another chance, like I mentioned in my first review I really wanted to love this place. I had a much better experience! My girl was very attentive and careful while working on my nails. She was precise with the cutting of my cuticles and the polish. She even redid a couple to insure it was perfect. Unfortunately, I tried a new spot closer to my house. It was more expensive than my previous, but they kept telling me it's for the experience and to be honest the experience did not allow me. The person that was doing my manicure had to double as the front desk and phone person so that was quite disruptive although she was very nice.And they probably would've come back and try it again except for the fact that my nails chipped within five days and it was gel so that should not have happened. read more

Chi Studio is very pretty and aesthetically pleasing--the space itself is clean, modern, and relaxing. I came in for a pedicure and the nail tech was kind and took her time with my appointment. However, I unfortunately won't be returning due to the cuticle work. During the service, the sides of my nails and cuticles were cut too deeply. It burned when my feet went into the water and again when alcohol was sprayed. I did ask her not to cut the sides of my nails, and she mentioned she would only do it "a little bit," but it still ended up being too much. It's now the next day and a few of my toes are still tender and sore along the sides from the cutting. While the service itself was otherwise fine, this experience made me uncomfortable and hesitant to come back. read more

My usual nail salon was unable to take me so I took the recommendation of a friend and booked at Chi and I'm so glad I did! I booked online and got a same day appointment. When I had schedule difficulties I just called and they were super accommodating which I really appreciated because I was (not to be dramatic) going to have a meltdown if I couldn't finally have some me time for self care that day. Anna greeted me and did my nails - fixing a broken nail with GelX and she did a great job on my manicure, perfecting the length and shape to exactly what I wanted. I am very happy! One thing I do love about this salon is that when they use the tools the dust doesn't fly everywhere - a nail dust vacuum sucks the dust down out of your face. This was also major for me since I was wearing a dress and didn't want powder all over it which is what inevitably happens at other places. First things first, the front desk receptionist was very kind (a male), attentive and made sure I was taken care of quickly. I feel like there is more care taken with each mani than other salons I've previously called "home" in LA. I called and made an appointment about an hour before closing, and the owner was kind enough to accommodate me even with such short notice. The salon itself is beautiful.. It was clean, modern, and not cramped at all. The atmosphere was relaxed, with good music playing, and the owner even offered me a bottle of water, which was a nice touch. For my service, I got a regular gel pedicure with a design and was really pleased, especially since I didn't have a specific technician in mind. I wish I could remember her name because she did such a great job! Everything was clean and hygienic. She used all new tools and kept checking in with me throughout to make sure I was happy with the shape, color, and style. Flew into town for my younger brother's graduation and wanted to do a little family thing with my 4 year old, mom, and sister in law. Even though they were super busy and booked out, Anna was super accommodating and friendly and was able to squeeze us in. The service was excellent from the front desk to the nail techs. They were super nice and gentle with my daughter who was getting her nails done for the first time and didn't know what to expect. Beautiful space, but I had an appointment and when I arrived was told the technician I had booked with was running behind. I asked how long my wait would be as I had another an appointment to get to after my nail appt. And I'd like the opportunity to pivot to another salon if they couldn't honor my appt ent. The receptionist checked with the tech and she said she'd get started on me in under 10 mins. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked for an update so the receptionist asked when I need to leave by and checked in with the tech I booked. At that point, my tech, still very much occupied servicing someone else, asked someone else to take my current manicure off. I am okay with this but would've loved to have the substitute tech start on me right away. As much as it's kind to ask when I need to leave by, I also don't appreciate a rushed manicure job because someone else arrived late. Now I'm just sitting. Over 27 minutes into my appointment time, the tech I booked with still hasn't started on me and is very much still in the middle of servicing her other client. I don't recommend this salon. If I had been 27 minutes late, I would not have been serviced and surely still would have been charged some type of fee. If appointment times can't be honored, they should look into taking walk-ins only. Too many nail salons in LA that will honor your appointment and offer comfortable service to go with this one again. I was very much looking forward to my appointment and am very much disappointed to be starting nearly 30 mins late and have my service be rushed. read more

I live in the area and have driven by Chi Studio a few times and thought I'd give it a try. I went in on Tuesday for a pedicure and though I liked the treatment itself, the nail shape and paint job (I chose regular polish) wasn't quite to my standard. Jaquie came over after helping me check in and was able to clean things up and put me more at ease for the manicure appointment I booked for the following Thursday. I also received a discount for the inconvenience. After, she told me Debbie knows how to do a great regular French manicure and she was right! I went back today for my appointment and all expectations were exceeded! I like what I like when it comes to my toes and nails and you can tell Debbie just "gets it." The four of us (two technicians and two of us clients) at the manicure station socialized and chatted the whole time and it was fun and fully added to my experience! Looking back now and going to a different place I've realized that this place sadly isn't too good. My manicure was lumpy and it had little hair particles.
