Absolutely terrible. Came in for a French gel manicure, the woman kept yanking my hands and got mad when I asked if she could make the white portion even because it was crooked (diagonal) and not a smooth line so she yelled and me and said it's my fault that I see it that way and if I don't like it she'll remove it and I can leave. So she removed the white and told me to leave with my nails half done and tried to charge me on top of it. Robertson Nail on Robertson Bl in Beverly Hills is one of my favorite nail salons. Have been coming here but since COVID, this salon as well as many others was COVID closed until recently. After agreed terms with the health department which includes: face masks, face shields, gloves, plastic dividers for social distancing. In addition each client must complete a form which you agree to health risks terms and then your temperature is taken at the door before entering. It all seems tedious, but all the extra precautionary measures makes me happy as I am a germaphobe. I was in desperate need of a professional mani pedi. I called and the manager Vicky was able to take me in right away. What ordinarily takes an hour took longer because only one service at a time can be done. I prefer two people, one doing my mani and the other doing my pedi simultaneously to save time. However, it seems the rules include one service at a time or the salon pays a hefty fine $$$$. I made sure I had enough time on the parking meter so it worked out. My gel mani and pedi and foot massage turned out fabulous. The ladies were very detail oriented, careful and thorough. The salon is clean, the tools were sanitized and they almost always accommodate me and my service dog Fendi. Fendi always sits next to me, patiently and is civilized and well behaved. The salon's hours varies, so it's best to call ahead for an appointment. Limited meter parking on Robertson. CASH ONLY payments. What just took place is truly alarming and shocking which occurred on Election Day for the President of the US. I usually work the poles and don't get my nails done often because I have had my nail license for over 30 years and mostly do my own nails to save money. I have owned a Nail Shop and I was a nail product distributor for mostly Vietnamese Nail products like Le Chat which was a great Vietnamese line of nail products in the 1980s and 1990s. I know a lot about the Nail business but being I'm in between moving back to LA, I thought it would be nice to get my nails done, so I had them done here on October 7, 2024 by a sweet lady. Prior to making my appointment, I picked out some pictures of nails that I liked through their pictures on yelp and they were all done by Thuy supposedly and I scheduled my appointment with her to do my nails so when I got there, Mimi came out and did my nails. Clearly that was not Thuy. Mimi did the dipping powder with Gel topcoat but for some reason, they all were peeling off within two days so I called the salon and told them what was going on with the nails. A man answered the phone told me that I could come in the next day to have them done again, free of charge, which I thought was very sweet., but I told him I wanted to have my nails done by Thuy who I originally made my appointment with on October 7th. When I showed up, he said that the original girl Mimi was going to redo them, not Thuy. Does Thuy even exist here? Lol Maybe she does but she just doesn't do the nails or maybe those pictures are not really her work. You'll never know but interestingly enough after getting my Nail license I got my degrees in Criminal Justice and teaching, so I'm in a completely different line of work now. So I left the salon and called when I got back to my place to see about having Thuy do my nails. She supposedly answered the phone and said she could do them, but I told her I really can't come back in again until I move back which could be in 1-2 months and she said oh don't worry I will take care of you and redo them for free whenever you're back, so today November 5th, 2024 I called the place to see when Thuy could redo my nails and I wanted to show her pictures of what I liked by Thuy, so I ran in because I was outside the salon and she thought I was going to do them right there on the spot and she was going to charge me to do them and I reminded her that I had just had them done 29 days ago and was back for the Redo as she promised a few weeks ago and she says oh no no no no no I remember you. I remember you. You were here and called a long long long time ago. She said it's been over 2 months I remember you and I have to charge you full price. She repeated oh I remember you and I said no I had them done 29 days ago very recent but still I understand it's not yesterday and she said NO I'm going to charge you. So I left and called her from my car to tell her I could bring in the receipt if she wanted me to and she picked up and hung up on me. This place is a real hoax and a joke and who knows if they are even keeping things legal in here and sanitary. I really feel badly for the people in the area who are going here that's all I have to say. Here is a picture of my receipt to prove that I was there 29 days ago. That's why I called her back to tell her I had the receipt at my place but she hung right up on me. Just lovely. Kind of reminds me of the customer's review below who talks about using a credit card here to pay the first time and then the next time they said they do not accept credit cards just cash. This is truly ridiculous and in my job and profession I would be fired if I did anything like this and I would be embarrassed if anything like this happened while I was younger and owned a nail shop and was a Nail Product Distributor. I even asked her while there today could you do Gel x? Then she giggled and laughed and says oh sure sure sure we will do the Gel x. I mean I sense when people are lying, but I was like whatever. I cannot believe that they have this going on in Beverly Hills off Robertson Road yet alone anywhere in Los Angeles. read more

Not sure I will return. Although inexpensive, especially for Beverly Hills, it wasn't relaxing. I got a mani-pedi ($28) with good end results, but the experience of getting my nails done was a bit rough. Pros: - Staff is very efficient. The salon is always busy and I walked in when they were packed, and they still squeezed me in with no wait. - Affordable. $14 for a manicure. $17 for a pedicure. $28 if you do both. - nice smooth nail painting - a TON of colors including OPI shades galore - TVs were watchable with captions and the news. Cons: - when the two ladies finished with me, they didn't tell me they were done and just walked off. Usually they help you put your flip flops back on so that you don't ruin your own fresh pedicure but that didn't happen. I've never been to a nail salon that didn't do this final step. Also, usually they have you pay before they finish your manicure so you don't ruin your nails fishing In your purse but that didn't happen. - they clip aggressively here. Much more than I'm used to and I was nervous they would cut too close. No bleeding thankfully but some of my toes are sore. - they scrape hard when they use a tool to smooth the top ridges. Normally I've had this done a lot more gently. - no massaging spa chairs. They bring out a portable foot bath. - extra money for a foot massage whereas other pedicure salons I've visited usually include this with service. read more

Sofia greeted me warmly when I walked in after I had briefly spoken to her over the phone to confirm they were open. This review is for my visit on a Tuesday, arriving around 12:30pm. I had noticed there was mention of a private parking lot behind the building but only 3 spots are assigned to the salon and all were full. There wasn't a metered space for me directly in front so I ended up parking around the corner a block or so from the salon. My main concern was quality of work while coordinating with the 1-hr max parking meter I was working with. Sofia assured me that they would be able to give me a French gel manicure + regular French pedicure in under an hour. The thought of being trapped in a pedicure chair with an expiring meter terrified me, but I decided to take the gamble. Samantha was assigned to my manicure and Jenny to my pedicure. I was starting out with natural nails already cut short (no gel removal was needed) and I provided a photo of my gel nails in the past for reference. I wanted the French design to look like a sophisticated yet somewhat natural grow out, and Samantha was confident they would be able to pull off this optical illusion. Because of the time crunch, Sofia took over after Samantha's perfect manicure portion. She quickly yet accurately applied the French pink and white gels to my hands in a flash - that part seemed to be her specialty. Jenny followed with matching toes after thoroughly providing the extra callous removal option. Done in 55 minutes. FLAWLESS. Watching these ladies effortlessly work was mesmerizing and I barely had to request any adjustments to the final results. When I did ask for adjustments, I was met with a happy attitude and exact accommodation to my requests. IM DISGUSTED. PLEASE DONT COME HERE. So long story short, I came in asking for dip and the owner, Vicky said it's 10$ more than gel and I said that's fine. She then tried to find a staff member who knew how and no one did. She let one girl do it who had no idea what she was doing. Then another person took over who had a better understanding but still was clueless. I left upset that my nails didn't look right but i didn't complain because i saw they tried hard and i was there for hours. About a week and a half later i noticed my nails were getting black (pic attached) but i thought it was from ink at work. 2 weeks from the day I got them done, I had the dip removed somewhere else (Robertson nail was closed) and they revealed the green bacteria growing under my nail. That nail salon said they've seen this happen when nail salons don't properly dry the nail before applying acrylic or dip, or if you leave it on too long and it lifts allowing water to enter and let the bacteria form/grow. Then i went to the doctor who said it's pseudomonas and confirmed what the other nail salon had said, which is that whoever did my nails did an improper job. I was livid, and went to Vicky the owner to get a refund and to have my medical bills paid for. She denied responsibility, blamed it on "what i do at home" which is literally impossible, and said her staff is extremely competent even though after i did she dip she admitted that they don't do dip usually. I've been getting my nails done at different nail salons biweekly for 8 years now; this has never happened before. Now I'm left with green bacteria in my nails for the next 4 months, medical and pharmacy bills. She did give me a refund for the service however, (even though she tried to claim it was 40$ when I paid 45$) read more
