Love my pedicure from Diane so much! I love when you are not rushed through a pedicure, and someone actually takes the time to do everything so perfectly. I've been coming here for years. My favorite. read more

I had this old gift card from 5 years ago that my friend gave me for my birthday. I am so happy and excited that Diane the owner accepted it for me! Such a kind lady and she did an amazing job. She's so kind and really cares about her customers. Her vibe and energy made the experience extra special. She did 3 coats on my nails to give it an extra sparkle and shine. read more

Contempo Nails - Color: Orly - "no regrets" - Nail Salons Near Me - Beverly Hills, California

Diane is very skilled and sweet. Loved my mani/pedi. Easy location, clean, good experience!

On their website and everywhere online it's written they open at 9am. Well, I came at 9.05am an saw the sign on the entry door that they actually open at 9.30am. I waited until 9.33am and made a call asking if they are open at all. A lady said 10 minutes. I waited for another 15 min until 9.45am but nobody showed up. So I just left... On the way to the car I saw a next door nail salon already open at 9.45am although officially they open at 10am. Have no comment on quality of their mani-pedi servise as it simply didn't happen for above reason. read more

I have been coming to Contempo Nails since I first moved from NYC to La La Land 18years ago. Diane, Contempo's owner has been in business at 333 S. Robertson for 30years!!! AND in a town like BEVERLY HILLS- that alone should speak volumes of the beautiful work they do at Contempo. Comfort- Diane truly cares about her clients comfort- the chairs are cozy to begin with and she is always offering up water, a pillow and even a blanket (it's been so cold in LA this winter) and sometimes a snack. Now, I like to bring things for her to enjoy. Convenience: Parking- If you can't find a metered space which usually isn't that difficult on S Robertson, there are a few parking spaces available in the back (enter alley from the NW corner of Olympic/Robertson- next to the Exxon Station). Hours- What's even more advantageous for me are the hours she's open- regular business hours at Contempo is 9:30am-9pm but I often don't leave until after 10pm. Availability- Although walk-ins are always accepted, it's always best to call before to see if there's a wait or to schedule an appointment. For example, last night I texted her at 9:02pm asking if I could come in the morning and she said- I'm just finishing with my last client, you can come now. I explained that the morning was better for me and she said to come at 9am, which is 30mins before she opens. A couple years back I started to bring my daughter along with me to get her nails done too (she's 8 now). And when we talk about going to get a mani/pedi we say "Do you want to go to Diane?" not do you want to go get our nails done. The pic is of her very first gel mani/pedi that my Mom treated her for this weekend. Feel free to tell Diane that Robyn Refered you, (310) 855-8879 and enjoy your mani/pedi. read more

Diane was the sweetest :) she was very patient and took lots of time with my nails. I came in at around 6:45 pm and it was empty. I felt cozy and comfortable, especially around Diane. :) please give this place a try! I'll be back! read more

Diane is the sweetest businesswoman and great at what she does. Her and her nail techs are very friendly and there are other customers who have been coming here for 15+ years--even with new folks like me there is a friendly neighborhood vibe which can be hard to find in LA. Great music and comfy chairs. Love this place and will definitely be coming back! I'm guessing the negative reviews are because of wait times, but I haven't had any problems. My girlfriend and I walked in and asked the lady "is it only you here Bc we are 2 people. She said "yes there's a lady in the back." After she started on my girlfriend's pedicure and I kept waiting and waiting I asked "is anyone going to help me?" And that's when I realized she had lied and she was the only one there. We ended up leaving Bc I couldn't wait any longer and on top of that my girlfriend said the lady did a terrible job on her pedicure. Also, the water was cold. And the tools were not properly sanitized! read more

I came here because I had another appt in the area and needed a pedicure before my vacation. I usually go to a place closer to me but I was in a time crunch because I leave tomorrow and couldn't get my nails done at my regular place due to my schedule. First of all, there were hardly any people working there. It was regular business hours and there were 3 people working. Also, the Russian chick who was running the place had zero customer service skills and was getting a pedicure from one of the staff during business hours - taking up time that they could have been servicing clients and making money. I work at a very successful spa so I know about customer service and how a business like this should be run. This place apparently does not. My pedicure was fine but it was expensive for a basic pedicure. I feel sorry for the people who work here because they don't seem happy. I will not be back. read more

Contempo Nails - Perfect red manicure - Nail Salons Near Me - Beverly Hills, California

The most beautiful acrylic nails I've EVER gotten or even seen! They are so beyond natural looking; made to true perfection! I truly cannot recommend any other with as much enthusiasm as I do Diane at Contempo Nails! She is a true artist at its finest. I must also add that she is also quite literally one of the most genuine, kind souls I've had the pleasure of meeting & chatting with in a very long time. Diane is a highly skilled perfectionist making her so incredibly talented in her craft; but she also has such a genuinely loving personality as she is so so kind-hearted, and this combo makes for such a fantastic all-around experience for her clients. So if you're looking to have the most fabulous nails EVER, plus actually enjoy the time spent getting beautified in a super friendly, fun-loving atmosphere, there is literally NO PLACE ELSE but Contempo Nails on Robertson Blvd. to consider. Also worth a quick mention is that being on Robertson Blvd in the West Los Angeles/Beverly Hills area, you'd expect to pay an arm & a leg for even an average nail salon, but her prices are actually quite fair, despite the high end location & great work; in fact her prices are maybe even cheaper than most others, especially when taking into account the quality of work and beautiful results! Cannot stress enough how much I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my acrylic nails! I also cannot stress enough how much I also LOVE the owner Diane! She really is the absolute greatest! She even gives everyone bottled water and two handfuls of chocolate in case your in the mood for a pick me up! I highly recommend for any & everyone to try this place out at least once, because I personally guarantee that you will NOT be disappointed in any regard!! Trust me, you will walk out loving both your nails & the people who just did your nails. Made my day so much brighter, and I'm not even exaggerating the least bit! read more

My nails sparkle like diamond in the sky! (Said Angela Johnson) Downside: 5 minutes doesn't mean 5 minutes, it can mean 5 minutes, it can also mean 15 minutes. Upside: there is parking located in the alley. Most of the people I've had here work quick, are efficient and most importantly do a clean job. On top of all of that, they do not use nail polish thinner in their nail polish (which is a bad thing and makes your nails chips) their nail polishes are fresh and last longer than when I get them done at other salons. Winnie is one of my favorite employees! read more

Beautiful work!! My nails always look amazing! I get gel on my toes and nails. Check my photo out! Oh I love love it here!!

Really liked this beautiful simple and elegant salon. Diane is fantastic and takes a lot of care. Lots of comfy chairs and clean supplies , and floor area. Nicely lit space, with grey and white interiors. You are greeted with a smile, small water bottle and a little sweet candy. She also gave me halls mints for my coughs. She stays open till late. I will be back again . My manicure cost $15, I left a $5.00 tip - for being pampered for 45 minutes. I was told many years ago that you should leave a minimum five dollar tip for just a mani. With the cost of supplies and work and pampering it is well deserved. I was told a mani pedi combination is $28 which is very good price considering the area . Thanks came after 6 to not worry about evening metered parking. Diane is the best! Found my local spot ! read more

By appointment only during COVID. There is one nail tech so you're alone in the salon. She wears a mask and everything is sanitized. She is the sweetest lady, does a great job, and inexpensive. I walked into this shop by accident, however, now I know it was destiny.... The salon with 5 stars I found during a standard yelp search had closed down . I passed a few on the way from where I parked and I was at the point where I was gonna get a pedi if it was tha last thing I do, so now, Its a mission... Two nail shops on the way closed, and Contempo had all the lights on beckoning me in. So glad I did... I received a free mani with my next visit!! #win #score #luv read more

It pains me to write this review - but I'm still upset about my nails and the service I received here yesterday. I've been coming to Contempo Nails off and on for the past year. At first I thought the service was really great and the products they used were awesome. Henry is my favorite nail tech by far. He takes his time, does a great job and has a very positive attitude. This place is cash only and they have an ATM machine inside that you can pull cash from if you need (for a fee) -so that's a plus. There is limited parking behind the building which is tandem and you if you block someone - expect to get up out of your chair and move your car in the middle of your service. Yup - I've had this happen every time I park back there. There is street parking if you're lucky enough to find any. On to my awful experience yesterday. I arrived at 5:30 and asked for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. They immediately sat me down and had me start to soak off my gels - great standard for any nail salon. While I was soaking my nails another customer asked a nail technician when she would be able to finish her nails. The customer was extremely upset and said she'd been there for an hour and a half and she wanted to leave. The nail tech responded "you need to go to the other room and wait until I am finished". I honestly pressed my lips together and tried to keep my face neutral. I couldn't believe how rude the nail tech was. WOW! So after sitting there for 30 minutes soaking - someone finally came over to start working on me. This place USED to have really high quality products, you know the gel polish in the little pots not just the stuff in the bottle. Well they don't anymore. I explained to the nail tech that I wanted a coral color for both my nails and toes. He pulled out a color that looked very much like neon orange and assured me that it was coral - HELL NO IT WAS NOT - my nails are.... NEON ORANGE. OK, I can get over that - really it's only color and it's only for two weeks. My issue was with the fact that the CHEAP nail polish they used is LUMPY - if I wanted the look for fake lumpy nails I would have gotten acrylic nails put on. Of course they offered to fix it but after an hour and a half, I was in no mood to sit there and have them start all over. So I've over this nail salon and now need to find somewhere else. read more

I really wanted to love this place...really. The prices really are the best in town, but here are some of the realities you sacrifice: -I have heard that the staff is treated HORRIBLY. While the owner is so sweet to her customers (it is true...she treats you like you are her favorite, gives free mani/pedi coupons, etc.), she is awful to her staff. It is great that this place is also open...but that means the staff never gets a break. Yes, it is convenient for us, but pretty horrible for workers trying to get home to their families. -The quality has been severely going down hill. I have been coming here for almost 6 months. My gel manicures went from lasting 2 weeks no chips to 2 days...seriously. Pretty frustrating when you shell out the money for a gel manicure. -They have been so busy, I have waited 10-15 minutes for someone to work on me pretty consistently. Once they begin working, they rush through to get to the next customer. Yes, speed is good...but lack of quality? Not so much. -You have to pay cash, so be sure to stop at an ATM on your way (fun) or pay an up-charge for using theirs. In summary: Pros: Always open, great prices Cons: Always open (no good for the staff), rush you in/out, quality has been deteriorating , must pay cash read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.Horrible place! ! Don't go there!!! The owner is A LIAR, UNETHICAL and EXTREMELY RUDE. I asked for a pedicure and a re-fill of my acrylics. The owner told me that the lady that did the acrylics was out to lunch and that she was going to return in approximately 35 minutes. They started to do my feet an 1 hour an 30 minutes later she told me that the lady that did the acrylics was going to take a longer lunch and that I had to come back tomorrow. One of the employees told me that Diane-the owner-had lied to me, because the lady that did the acrylics had left a long time ago. She told me that it was not the first time that this had happened. Also, at first she told me that the pedicure was $13.00, then she changed the price to $15.00. Normally, I never write bad reviews. However, I think that it is unacceptable that customers are told lies and taken advantage of. Thank you. read more

Let me start by pointing out that most of the negative reviews of this salon come from a recently-opened rival nail salon, just a couple doors north of Contempo on Robertson. They opened about 6 months ago and if you notice, most of the negative reviews of Contempo were written within the past 6 months. Then out of nowhere, the rival salon has so many positive Yelp reviews, all written within the past 6 months! S H A D Y ? I think so! Friends and employees of the rival nail salon will go on Yelp to write bad reviews about all the neighboring salons on Robertson! Two of their employees sent me a private message on Yelp to say something negative about Contempo Nails, and they weren't even true statements! I've even seen the owner of that nail salon occasionally poking her head around the windows at Contempo to check out their business!! It's horrible and awkward.. PLEASE don't believe all the negative reviews you read on here! I've been coming to Contempo Nails for over 2 years and I STILL LOVE THIS PLACE! The owner, Diane, is super sweet and generous. She will give her return customers coupons, and don't be afraid to use the coupons because the employees STILL GET PAID. You can print the coupons out online from their website or just show them the coupon on your phone! All of the employees here are very friendly and welcoming. They are good at what they do whether it's a mani, pedi, gel mani, Brazilian wax, whatever. They really are attentive to making sure that you are happy and comfortable and will bring you a bottled water while you are getting your nails done! Come here and you will see that at Contempo, they know almost all of their customers. Why? Because we keep coming back! read more
