I went in for a pedicure and a full set of acrylic nails. On day 11 of having the acrylic nails, one broke and another one is cracked right at the area where the nail is glued. When the nail technician was applying the nails, a couple went flying off my nails because they were not glued properly. I called today and they blamed it on whatever activity I could've been doing (I was doing normal activities at home). I didn't mention my pedicure to them but when I got home after getting my nails done, my husband said "I could've done that." I was excited to have found a place that is close to me and reasonably priced based on the area where the nail shop is located. However, I will not be returning and do not recommend. The lady who worked on my nails was very nice and she really tried to make sure they were all even but I think some things were missed. I had hoped they would be more understanding considering that when I asked for a certain design the lady said "oh I can't do that." So, I settled for the design in the photo. Really happy to have found my new regular place to get my nails done. Have been twice now for gel manis & paint pedis - and very happy. Friendly staff that asks the right questions & checks in along the way to make sure they're progressing towards the nail style, length, etc that you're looking for. Great detail orientation so I'm not getting cuticle nicks & the final finish is fully covered with no imperfections (eg no fibers or bubbles in the nails, or unpainted areas). It's really hard to find a great nail place, even though there are so many! My only quick tip: bring cash! They have an ATM but you'll save a little bit on fees going to your own bank. read more

I cheated on my nail salon once to try another salon & my dip powder manicure chipped the next day lmao (this is what I get - I know!!). Parking: On the side of the shopping center, there is an entrance to an underground parking garage. It's free!! Location: You have to give yourself an extra 3 minutes to walk up or take the elevator to Olympic Nails. Don't be like me & forget to factor this in lol. Prices: Less than most salons in LA! Quality: Better than most salons!! I mainly come for the dip powder manicure. I go 2-3 weeks before coming to get my next manicure & there is not a chip in sight - incredible! It's worth the $55+ imo. I have gotten gel manicures here when I want to have them add a design. They typically can do simple designs (i.e. flowers, etc.). This also lasts for the same duration As for pedicures, I just get regular (I believe this is $25 or $30). The only reason why it ever chips is because I am doing something silly & stub my toe(s) or something. Inside: It's a modest/simple salon. There's usually 80s music playing & two TVs on with the news or a show on. They don't have someone who works the front desk, so, I just say hi when I walk in & then they help me lol. Tip: They are cash only. They do have an ATM where you get reimbursed $2 off the $2.30 fee (I am 99.9% sure about this). All in all, I care about quality the most & Olympic Nails will do just that! I got a great looking manicure but the gel removal process was much worse than what I would have done at home. They were roughly filed and scraped and removed full layers of my nails. Kim did a phenomenal job by giving me a very thorough manicure and making sure that all my nails were as even as they possibly could be without being too short. I was very impressed by how she transformed my nails from bad to beautiful. I would have given 5 stars if my pedicure wasn't just ok. The lady barely spent more than about 10 seconds scrubbing my feet which was disappointing and felt unfinished. Also to my surprise they do not accept Discover Card or MasterCard. This place seems to be a good spot for the regulars and people that come to see the owner Tina and have worked with her for years. I have come here on and off throughout the years and unfortunately haven't had the positive experience my friends and neighbors who come see Tina herself have had. It's a shame because I really wanted to be a regular here but I get a bit of a passive agressive vibe here if you're not a regular. Wanted to work with the nail tech Kim but she did an uneven job on my nails this time and wasn't very welcoming- this was my second time with her. Instead of using acetone to remove residual polish she was using a file on my skin. Really wish they were nicer to people that aren't their tried and true regulars. Bummer because I really wanted to make this place my new nails spot. There are tons of other places that charge the same price but are nicer and do a better job. (In case you're reading this - with the business owner replying below telling me I don't tip- I did tip this last time I went even though the nail tech did a terrible job and was clearly injuring my skin with a nail file, and to address the time before I didn't have enough cash on hand- I have asked whoever has done my nails if they have Venmo so I can tip that way and they don't ) - Also, since when is tipping a requirement for any patron, let alone for a business to exhibit basic kindness and courtesy to its visitors? Good service and behaving decently toward customers shouldn't be contingent on a tip alone- which for this establishment it is. Maybe the owner should pay her employees a living wage so they don't feel the need to lash out at customers. Moral of the story is - the business employees are only nice to you if you tip them (even if you are not happy with their work) otherwise they will be agressive/cold toward you and scratch your skin with a nail file to get their anger/agression out instead of providing ways to tip employees other than cash only (ie Venmo, through card). Great location and great service. They have a beautiful array of colors to choose from and specialize in dip. You can get anything done here but they do they job right, no chips and no breakage even after weeks of keeping your nails.
