I had a bad lower bad injury and I couldn't move. I went home and I couldn't get up for over half an hour no matter how hard I tried the pain was just too much! My wife told me to immediately come here and get a massage. Honestly, I never had a massage before and I didn't think it would do anything. So wobbled in pain cuz it is right a cross the street from where we live. I explained to the lady why I'm here and where it hurts and hurts like crazy. She laid me down on the table and got to work. Boy was it so good! By the end of it I was able to get off the table on my own. I was able to walk without that incapacitating pain. The pain was mostly gone just in the span of a little over 30 min of massage. I walked around the store and the change was immediately noticeable! Wow! This was nothing short of a miracle! Last time I got hurt like that about a year ago it took me over a week to regain my mobility. Wow wow! I'm so glad I came here! If not for my wife and this place I would still walk around like an old man holding on to my back. This worth every star and more! read more

Mimi is the best! I've been going to her reliably for 6 years and she always gets me right! She has been doing nails for 40+ years and is extremely detailed oriented. Mimi does the best pedicures (and really gets in there) leaving my feet clean and soft like a baby. Her gel is durable. She is also extremely lovely and truly has a heart of gold. I would give Mimi a million stars if I could!!! read more

Soleil Nails & Microblading - manicure Mimi did most recently - Nail Salons Near Me - Los Angeles, California

I mainly chose this place cos of the location being on my way to a function I was attending. But the owner of this place is terrible at responding to phone calls or text. She ghost me after I said I couldn't make appointment and if she could reschedule but then she responded on Yelp not remembering I'm the same person. Well, I most probably saved my money and saved myself the terror of a terrible job. read more

The service was good, and Mimi was very responsive, but unfortunately, the gel nail polish she did for me didn't last more than a week and started to chip off after a few days. I paid $45 (including a $5 tip) for this gel manicure and really wanted to like this place but, unfortunately, wasted money and time. Maybe the quality of the gel polish isn't excellent, and she needs to switch to another brand. Also, this is quite an old nail salon. Mimi is the only one there, and the shop is pretty outdated. My new favorite place. Mimi is kind and talented. I can tell she really cares about her customers. Super nice, definitely affordable and great work/ attention to detail. She did an amazing job on my nails (that means a lot because I'm very picky!) It's appointment only, and she spends time and doesn't rush. I've finally found my go to nail salon in LA! read more

At first glance I was not sure I walked into a good nail salon. I rarely get my nails done, but now I'm hooked. I was in the area for other errands and had a few events coming up that I wanted to look put-together for. I saw Soleil Nails and walked in, asking if she took any walk-ins. She checked her schedule and squeezed me in right then and there. The shop itself is rather quaint and on the more aged side. I've only had my nails done once or twice before and had been to a very new/ higher end nail salon before, so this place was a lot different from that experience. It seems to be run by the couple, Mimi and another gentleman. She was very attentive to details and spent an extensive period of time making sure my gnarly cuticles were looking gorgeous. She was very quick and efficient but extraordinarily gentle! Later a scheduled patient came and she was rather rushing Mimi, frequently asking her when she'd be done with me and ready to work on her. I got a little worried because although I did not come in with an appointment I didn't want my nails to be done sloppily due to the rush. I was very touched when Mimi told the client that she is attending to me and that she would get to the other client when she's done with me. I was very grateful and just right there she already earned my respect. It has been 2.5 weeks and the gel manicure is still intact, with very minimal to no chipping (see photo attached. It's a light white because that's the shade I was going for this time)! Mimi is amazing with her work! Her price was also very reasonable, $40 for gel manicure. As long as this quality continues, I would 100% go back to her. She's converted me from never getting my nails done to now getting excited for my next appointment! read more

Stopped by for a manicure and so glad I did! This is an absolute gem of a place. Mimi is genuinely so kind and thoughtful. It's clear that she takes her time and pays attention to the little things. She gave me a wonderful healing massage, and I feel amazing! 10/10 would recommend getting an appointment with her. This was the BEST manicure I've had in years. I walked in and Mimi was able to help me right away. She was fast, precise, and made my builder-gel set look absolutely beautiful. Besides the great work, Mimi is an incredibly kind and thoughtful woman. I was returning to LA after a difficult time in my life and she made me feel warm and comforted. Exactly how you want to feel when you're taking yourself somewhere to treat yourself. I feel so lucky to have found her and will definitely be back if I ever find myself in the area again. I recommend calling ahead for an appointment. Very good quality nails, I got an acrylic set and had no lifting of the acrylic or chipping of the gel polish!! They stayed on for over a month, I had to soak them off. The nail tech Mimi was very friendly. read more

I came one day without an appointment and was lucky because someone had cancelled theirs. Truly one of the best manicures and pedicures. Mimi takes her time sand it shows. Mimi is great! Coming from another salon who did not honor my appointment, I happen to call Soleil Salon, which is 4 minutes away from my house. Mimi said she needed a check a couple of her appointments to see if she could fit me in and she would call me back. 2 minutes later she called me back saying she had time to accept me for a manicure and pedicure. I was there in 4 minutes! Mimi took her time with both my Manny and my pedi. I have never seen anyone take so much care to make sure that my nails were clean, filed evenly, cuticles pushed back, she even cut off a lot of the dead skin around my toes even though that wasn't part of the pedicure process! Someone came in wanting to get a mole tattoo and said she was in a hurry. Mimi let her know that I was there first and she wasn't finished with me but when she was, she would accommodate the ladies. They were upset because they wanted to be accommodated instantaneously. They asked if I would wait and I said no and that they only had to wait 10 minutes for me. The fact that Mimi was not going to compromise me, a new client, for more money on rude clients, I appreciate that very much. They left, she finished my services, and did a fabulous job! The best I've had in a very long time. Mimi earned a loyal customer in me! And hopefully I can convince everyone out there reading this to give her a try. The salon is so pretty and clean, she has amazing nail polish colors, she does nail art, waxing and is certificated to do brow, eyeliner, and mole permanent inks. She does it all! BTW: she locks her gate to the salon during business hours to keep clientele feeling safe. She also asks for payment ahead of time for services. There are signs everywhere in the salon. She does not single out people, it's not racist or sexist or anything. She has been burned before so requests paying cash ahead of time. I was happy to do so and received amazing customer service. I tipped her after the service though because I wanted to make sure LOL If you want personable, caring, professional one-on-one services, come here! It's my hidden Jewel and I don't want to tell anyone about it, but it is such a great little salon that I really want Mimi to do well and I want everyone to appreciate her work! read more

UPDATE- Six Years Later: -Still love this place and it's still my to go to. I usually just come to get my nails done but found out Mimi also does microblading. Unfortunately my mom has no hair on her eyebrows and has to draw them by pencil. As a Christmas gift, I decided to take her to get microblading. Mimi did an amazing job! My mom looks amazing. Definitely recommend her! Love it! read more

I've been going to Mimi for three years. She's been doing my eyebrows and my nails and I'm so happy with how they turn out every time. She's super sweet and remembers a lot about me, and it's always nice catching up with her every time. She's super accommodating and understanding. read more

Terrible place. I went in and there is only 1 employee. I asked her for a pedicure and she says are you paying cash or card. I tell her card and she says oh I can't take you. I asked her if she wanted me to go across the street to a bank to take money out and she says oh no and gave me a foul look. I'm starting to wonder if race was a factor as I am African American. read more

Mimi is incredible! She does a wonderful job with manicures, pedicures and eyebrows. Ever since I got my eyebrows done by her, I refuse to let anyone else touch them. Her gel manicures last a long time too (I can usually go 3 weeks before needing to come in) and unlike most places, it doesn't pop off or start peeling. Mimi is super talented and has a lot of fun colors to work with too. She's been my go to for a while now and I won't cheat on her. read more

Highly recommend Mimi she is the best! She's a veteran that has been doing nails for over 20 years - she owned a spot down the st. and rent prices were raised during the pandemic. She is now in a new spot that she runs solely. All appointments are spaced out nicely and she is a perfectionist. She listens to what you want and does your nails according to how you want them done. Plus she is rad and super easy to talk to if you feel chatty. Highly recommend supporting this small biz! read more

The staff/owners seemed really nice so it's unfortunate to write this, but their Gel SUCKS! & their practices seem a bit unsanitary. Red flag one was when my manicurist doused my hand in rubbing alcohol after cleaning my nails. She poured at least a cup in a half over my hands. Then she pulled out the gel and turned on the uv ray machine, which she kept on continously. The machine was literally right in front of my face, which made me uncomfortable considering long exposure to uv light can cause cancer. Every other shop I've been to only keeps the uv light on for 2-3 minutes at a time. The gel itself spelled horrendous. The stench was too much and finally I asked the manicurist "why does it smell like this?" She replied "that's how all gel smells." #AlternativeFacts. The uv light doesn't turn off so my hands spent more time in the machine than normal. Some of my nail polish starting bubbling up from what I believe to be the heat from the uv light. She had to redo one of my nails because it got pretty bad. Despite the not so great experience, I'm mostly compelled to write this review because my thumb nails still have bubbles. If you visit this nail shop (which I DON'T advise), avoid gel at all cost. I also got a pedicure, regular style. My only issue was that he accidently cut my toe while cleaning it. It was a really small cut but what concerned me was he proceeded to put nail polish remover on it. So if I get an infection, I know exactly where it's from. Never again. read more

I went here for several months regularly, then had to move away. This nail salon is one of the things I miss most about living in this area! The owner is so nice, professional and my nails always looked great and my manicures last forever! Prices are reasonable and the quality and service ar as good as it gets. 100% feel safe recommending this Nail Salon to anyone! Go. Make an appt if possible, because some days she books up. Still in a pinch she'll work to get you in for something important. read more
