Just finished my touch up after the initial microblading by Julia a month and a half ago. Prior to Julia, I had my eyebrows both tattooed and microbladed over the span of a couple decades. The tattoo jobs turned from dark brown to dark blue. Thereafter, the two microblading sessions were good, but not perfect. Eventually, I used both pencil and powder to fill in the gaps and cover discoloration. I could not find anyone who would touch up my eyebrows after all this work. I was turned down from well established microblading artists. Then came Julia. She's a perfectionist, thorough, thoughtful, and artistic...and on top, she is such a fun person to chat with. I did my initial microblading appointment with Julia on 9-11-20 and paid 1,000.00 at that time for the initial session and the follow up. Since then, it has been impossible to schedule my second appointment/follow up as Julia has not been responsive. I felt uncomfortable about paying for the second appointment up front but assumed it would be ok because of her other positive reviews. Now I've lost the money I paid for the second appointment, and much more importantly, the new artists I've consulted don't want to go over someone else's work. This has put me in a really bad position. I've tried to contact Julia for weeks and have even reached out through Instagram as a last resort. As a fellow business person, I really try to avoid leaving reviews like these, but in this case it's justified. I've had Julia's microblading services twice. My initial microblading and recently my retouch (14 months after). I can't say enough about her work, I loved my results and she is always professional and respectful. Yes she is pricier than others, but this is semi-permanent makeup on your face so I wouldn't take that decision lightly and without research. My color did not turn blue like other places I've seen; her work maintained its integrity all throughout the 14 months until I decided to go in for my retouch. Microblading healing isn't the prettiest, you will have a few days of healing where your eyebrows will look crazy and dark, but once they are all healed you get beautiful natural looking brows. JULIA JULIA JULIA:) So I waited a long time to have this done...I was nervous, it is my face after all! But equally as excited. Julia did a great job with the initial outline, with her input as well as my own, telling me we could scale back and always add more later (smart decisions and guidance right there!) There is no other person who puts more into her work including the pre and post guidelines. Its important! Because mine have lasted SO long! To my surprise, my skin of course is the difficult kind, thin and hard to hold color (trust me this is like my entire life summed up-hahaha) So julia was working overtime with me to ensure her quality- afterwards she assured me that even though my skin was not cooperating and I could expect to lose a lot of color in the week after she would be able to get everything sorted out with my next touch up - with different techniques or just seeing how my brows did in the healing (which she literally cleared a time for me to come to since she is so booked.) Of course hearing all this made me nervous but there is something so sweet and trust worthy about Julia... she cares as much as you care. Which is very rare. She has a quiet but elegant demeanor and she KNOWS HER STUFF. she has found an art to the face. Once I left and got some food and caffeine i looked in the mirror and almost cried, my brows look AMAZING and even if this is just a start point they are beautiful and I am Beyond happy with them. After the follow up they were perfect and remained so, I did my job and took care of them and every promise she made was kept. Julia is talented for sure. It's just, for the price I paid and traveling from San Francisco, I'm not happy with the follow through. After months of research and saving, I decided to go to Julia. I went to LA in June for my first appointment. She was kind enough to book me at her previous rate and give me a convenient date. The appointment was a little rushed because the receptionist stacked her appointments. After two grueling weeks for waiting for it to heal, it looked like I had never got the microblading. What sticked looked uneven. I freaked out and called Julia. She reassured me it would be fine. For my touch up, I asked if I could be seen in SF since she was going anyway. She said no because of some technicalities. I went back to LA in August. Although I waited 30 mins for her to finish her phone conversation before she started my appointment, my brows turned out way better. During the appointment, she said she would do one more touch up if needed because it was her job to give me brows. She even said she would see me in SF. Such a relief!! For working mom, I needed these brows. I reached out in September to fill spots that didn't stick. She said she would try to fit me in. October rolls around and she has come and gone from SF. I reached out in October and December and no response. Like I said, Julia is talented. Find my original post about Julia below when she was back in Woodland Hills. I'm bummed she moved to LA but I would follow her around the world to get her to do my brows. She's THAT good. If you are on the fence about Microblading LA just do it. It is on the pricy side here but so worth it. You can try to fix a bad haircut with a wig or a hat but you can't fix your brows getting bladed which lasts for at least a year. Do your research before you make an appt. I finally got my brows their final touch up a few days ago and I'm so happy I had them done. I've been getting so many nice compliments on my brows. It's not even funny. I don't have messed up, uneven brows anymore from my horrible filling in with my brow box and they look so much more natural than tattooed eyebrows. Plus, it makes getting out of the house a breeze. I got mine done by the extremely nice and lovely artist named Julia Faria. She's so dang good at what she does. It took me 2 months to get my appt. they are busy here. The website said the procedure would take up to 3 hours but I was in the studio for around an hour and a half. You go in and then they put numbing cream on your brows and have you wait for a half hr. Then Julia drew mini lines (hairs) over my brows to shape them with a pencil and a ruler to make sure they were even. Other Microbladers usually will draw an outline and work from there but this is what makes her different than the other artists which is why I chose her. I got to see exactly how my brows would look then and there. After that, she took me into her room and had me to lie down on her table. At that point she began the blading process. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would. The numbing cream worked! When she bladed it felt like a sharp pencil scraping against my skin. No pain. Just little scratches. There was no blood whatsoever. The whole blading procedure took about 20 minutes. After I left the pain soon began. It wasn't excruciating but it felt like a cat had scratched up my brows a hundred times and they burned from the aftermath. No horrible. Just annoying. That pain lasted for rest of the night and I was back to normal the next day. A few days later my eyebrows got REALLY dark. Basically I felt like I looked like Groucho Marx at the Easter brunch I went to. Joy. Schedule your appt wisely around your schedule. I didn't have much scabbing as I had expected. When it did scab after 5 days it just looked like tiny pieces of dry skin coming off. Not horribly noticeable at all. I was not able to go in the sun or sweat for 2 weeks so no gym or hikes. And I wasn't allowed to be in dirty places too long such as the garage or construction zones which was fine by me. After the healing I noticed there were tiny spots that still needed to be filled in which is why you have a touch up appt after the initial procedure. I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out and will probably be sticking to this until I croak. So Ta Dah! That's my experience. read more
