This place is amazing-- they have very reasonable prices, each technician is excellent at what they do, and the vibe is friendly and sweet! I came in for a color change and was so happy to learn they don't charge extra for French tips. Most places price gauge on the French, but not here! $23 for a polish change in French gel. While there, I noticed a woman sewing (who I assume is Wendy) and I ask her how much she'd charge to sew a loose part of my jacket. She looks at it, says she can do it, finishes up what she's sewing and sews my jacket. She doesn't charge me, just does it with loving kindness. I love coming to Wendy's, I have been her customer since she was on Wilshire years ago. Her nail salon is one of the only places I trust. It's super clean, they actually sterilize all their nail instruments in an autoclave, unlike most places in LA. My nails always last at least 2 weeks with regular polish. Lasts 3 weeks and more if I do Dip or Gel. They have sooooo many color options. Wendy herself is a true artist and really takes her time to make sure you're perfect. The salon also does really good massages. I've also come to Wendy for waxing and she's super patient with me. I love this place so much. There is also a free 2 hour parking lot across the street so it's super convenient coming here. This place is totally hit or miss. I've been going for years because it's in my neighborhood, but I stopped going because they keep raising their prices while the quality of their work is meh. I figure better for me to do it myself and save $30, which is what they charged me last time for a basic mani/pedi BEFORE tip. Too much! Just a few years ago it was only $23. Sorry, but inflation isn't happening that fast. Not cool. I felt compelled to leave a review after going for so many years, not only because I was overcharged, but also because I got one of the worst manis ever. See photos. The polish wasn't applied evenly and is dull, chipping and looks awful only 4 days later. However, worst of all (and this has happened before) they must have been using dull tools because my cuticles are cracked, peeling, covered in hangnails, look terrible and, more than anything, they HURT! The whole point of a manicure is to look polished and pulled together. I look like I put my hands down the garburator and this isn't the 1st time. Also they were quite rude. I get the holidays are stressful, but there is no need for hostility. I didn't do anything but want my nails done. Sheesh. Sometimes they are great. Other times - clearly not so much. So proceed with caution - or better yet - save the $ and do your nails at home. Just invest in those polish remover brushes and you'll be all set. It was like everyone has been getting their nails done here for years, the environment was so comfortable. Wendy did my sheer pink powder dip nails with an almond shape and they look pretty great! It was noted to me during the beginning of my visit that the salon doesn't do designs, but its still on their menu so that's a bit confusing. Not a huge deal for me at all. She's the sweetest lady! They did an amazing job on my gel manicure plus I had a gel pedicure for the first time ever so I did not have to wait an hour to put my shoes on.
