I've followed Lanny and her sisters every time they've moved - in a span of over 20 years- this is their fourth location. All 5 sister are very good with their manicures and pedicures - I've tried other more conveniently located ones, but for some reason the "no fuss no muss" attitude at Lanny's suits me the best. They're very well priced too. In their current location has the fancy massage spa chair which they charge $10 more for - so if that's what you like, there's that option. This location though, a corner south east of Fairfax and Beverly, is particularly difficult to find street parking. I have once given up and just left - but if the parking fairy is on your side, fi give them a try. read more

I went in for a pink friendship manicure showed her a picture that I needed exactly like this and she did a very awful job. There's bubbles in my nails. They're different links. They're see-through. They're not even pink and I work for a modeling agency and I can't and they did a really bad job. I left another review on the Google where I can add photos, but this is awful. read more

Just moved to this area and was looking for a new nail place, I gave Lanny nails a call and they picked up right away. I was able to get an appointment almost immediately and Kathy was so nice. She was really friendly, offered me water, and of course did a great job on my fill. Their prices are reasonable too so I appreciated the good value. Will definitely come back read more

I am a customer of Lanny Nails for over 20 years. Lanny, Tracy, Emily and the rest of the team are kind, very skilled at their work and true professional. They keep their business and personal expenses modest to pass the low prices and high quality service to their customers. I must comment on couple of the mean reviews and shady photos people have placed here on yelp. Intelligent patrons who use yelp, before believing the defamations, should wonder why someone would leave such nasty review without hard fact ( anyone can take a photo and claim it is Lanny's Nail work), in the world of internet scams, AI, robots etc - could it be a scam, competitors or perhaps sheer mean unstable people mistreating without cause and try to defame a business. A business ran by hard working ladies for almost 30 years, who come to work everyday with grace, sweetness and old school ethics to make a honest living. The fruit of their work is obviously apparent with decades long happy loyal patrons and following. I would give10 stars if it was available. Highly recommend this business. read more

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! I was lured in by the 17$ manicure, with 5$ gel removal but that should have been my first red flag. i walk in completely empty, and the lady sits me down and starts hacking at my gel with cuticle clippers trying to rip it up from underneath, by doing this she has split my nail down the middle. i try to tell her it hurts and to soak it in acetone and she gets offended. i get moved to a different woman and she is filing down the gel so much it rips a hole in my nail and starts oozing and i told her to not touch my nails anymore and i was done and she claimed she didn't do that or couldn't see what hole i was talking about. in the end they lied about price and charged me 27$. read more

The worst place to get your nails done!!!If you do gel, you have to come back after a week to redo it because they do such a horrible job. The place have a very strong at acetone smell that gives you a huge headache. I would NEVER GO BACK THERE! read more

They are kind, helpful and the overall feel of their shop has always made me feel welcomed. I typically love this place for the pedicures because it's an honest price and they don't charge extra to remove gel, today was not a good experience at all. I asked the price for gel-x and was told 60$ so I came in for my manicure. At first a couple nails were put on crooked so I asked for them to be fixed before going further, that irritated my manicurist but we pushed on. She then shaped them to coffin like I asked an the shape wasn't the same across the nails making them crooked again. I say something again but nothing really changed. By the time I finally finished my nails were half the size I asked and still crooked then she tried to charge me $70 instead of 60$ and when I said something about the nails still being crooked she told me that it wasn't the nail but my own nail bed making it look like this. pedicures were great but Im so disappointed in my nails and that no one really cared that I won't be coming back. read more

This has remained my favorite go to place for nails in LA. the staff are friendly and accommodating, the prices are great and they do not rush you in and out. I always call last minute and they usually can squeeze me in. I have a terrible habit of biting my nails and cuticles and they always do such a great job at cleaning up the mess that i make with my hands. They also take cash and Venmo which is a huge plus. I've been coming to Lanny Nails for over 10 years now. I moved about 8 years ago, but still make the 45min drive to come here. I've tried places in my area, but find that Lanny Nails for me, is worth the drive. They're very reasonably priced & the ladies and gentlemen working there friendly and nice. It is not a spa pedi place. You sit on comfier office chairs, but not the vibrating, back-massage ones with foot bath. It's one of the reasons they're able to keep prices relatively low. You get what you pay for, if you want the full spa treatment, I'd recommend you look elsewhere. But if you want a reliably good mani & pedi (regular of gel) and be in and out quick, this is your place. Additional services include waxing. They use a milky-silky wax, not sure what it's called, but it is a lot smoother spreading on, with great results. I get a little red, so I just make sure I bring my biggest sunglasses. read more

I actually asked her to sort it out since the nails were all wanky. Left the salon with the nails all wanky. I would of rather paid more tbh. Worst service ever. Rushed and terrible. I'm honestly a bit bummed. I stopped here after work on a random whim, and asked if they had time for a walk-in. They said yes, so I showed them a photo of what I was looking to have done. She said yes, they could do it. After a short wait, the girl comes to do my nails. I again show her the photo I wanted. She says yes, she can do that. Halfway through the process (as in acrylics on, shaped, and about to be painted), the girl asks if she could do a different color for the tip (I wanted a nude to black ombre French tip, almond shape). I agree to a different color-- it honestly was a nice color, and had the same effect as what I wanted. Then she starts, and I notice she's REALLY cleaning up the line of a traditional French tip. I quickly ask her if she's going to blend it to create the ombre effect, and she says, "No, I don't know how to do that." Now I'm annoyed--then why am I here? I showed the photo to 3 different women when I came in, and now you're over half-way through the process AND you don't know how to do what I asked for and this is the FIRST time I'm hearing this? I pay $75 for a full acrylic set, gel polish via Venmo--they don't accept cards. I pay and leave, and calmly convince myself that even if it's not what I wanted, AND I felt scammed into paying for something I didn't ask for, that the nails were fine. Then I get into the car, and start looking a bit closer at these nails. They are thick, poorly shaped, and look extremely rushed. I actually considered ripping them off, but my nail beds are too sensitive for that, so I need to wear them out and get a new place to do a full set correctly. To add insult to injury, 3 days later (I get the nails on Friday, and it is now Monday) one of the nails pops off. The whole thing. Nothing left on my nail bed--clearly the acrylic was not properly attached. At this point I had already knew I wouldn't be coming back here to get a new set or fill, but I didn't yet have a new place in mind, and I needed the same polish color, so I go back to have them repair it thinking there's NO way they are going to charge me to fix the nail they did 3 days ago. 3 days!! Nope. I must be a fool, because they charged me $5 to repair their own work. And then! The repair they did was HORRIBLE! This woman glued TWO tips onto my nail to extend the first tip. These are not long nails. Wth happened here? The shape actually gets WIDER in the center, and the nail is thick THIIIIICK. Photo attached of the 'new' nail. No. This is a big nope from me. Worst manicure ever. I would give it zero stars if I could. The woman didn't clean under my nails with a nail brush or wash my hands/nails before putting on polish. The polish is in my cuticles and uneven and there are bubbles in the polish. Really crappy job. Rushed through it. Don't bother going here. Place feels dirty too. They flip the towel over for the pedicure from one guest to the next instead of getting a clean one. Disgusting. read more

I love Lanny she's so fun to talk and does meticulous nails and knows how I like them and never gets annoyed. I've only done natural gel nails with Lanny and Cindy always does my pedicure. I never opt for the massage but she gave me a taste and gives the best massage I always request them both. I ask Cindy to massage my shoulders instead of my feet. Kind of afraid to post them so I dont Get my two favorite girls lol. read more

I went to Lanny nails on a recommendation of a friend of mine because I was in the area of West Hollywood and needed a manicure pedicure. I went in as I walk in and was greeted very nicely by the staff. The shop is very small but it's very clean and decorated very nicely and I was immediately seated and two nail technicians started on my hands and nails. They are very professional they have a television that's playing so you can watch TV while you're getting your service and they also give you bottled water which is ice cold which is a nice little perk on one of those hot Los Angeles days. They were very friendly and we even struck up conversation and I was very pleased with how my manicure pedicure came out. I only held back on one star because they don't accept debit card it's cash only. But they do use the app called Venmo for payment which I had never heard about before but I was able to quickly upload the app on my phone and make payment to the nail shop through that. Next time I'm in the area and I need service I will definitely definitely go back to Lanny nails!! read more

Lannys is the absolute best manicure and pedicure in LA. I've been going here for years. Vogue did a write up on them years ago because they are that good. My gel manicure lasts for 3 weeks. I agree with the other reviews about them rushing and being sloppy. I used to go there religiously because Lanny and the other technicians would take their time with cleaning my nails. Ever since they moved to the new place, they have rushed me every single time. This one was the last for me. I went in and she didn't even cut my cuticles. She did some buffing, applied the gel polish (which was also sloppy btw), and told me it would be $32. I was out the door in 10 mins or less. It's really unfortunate that they lost their touch. read more

I went to try this place for the first time this past Saturday, because a friend said that they were great a reasonably priced. First off this place was not that clean. I asked them if they could do my nails just like the photo I showed. After they started they didn't know how to do my nails like the photo. I was upset at this point, because they lied. This woman was filing my nails and filed my skin on multiple fingers. I was like, "hey that's my skin". She kept smiling and filing. My pedicure is horrible. They didn't paint my toe nails correctly leaving several nails without fully polished. Then I ask for the bill. It was $ 78.00. I was like you're crazy. That wasn't reasonable after you did a crap job. They don't take credit cards, cuz they don't want to pay taxes on it, so they take Venmo and cash....Pretty shady if you ask me. Not to mention that the nail lady poured liquid back into a bottle after she used it in me. CAN WE SAY HEALTH DEPARTMENT. Please stay as far away from this place. read more

I'm not going to go into graphic detail, but my toes needed some professional help and Lanny did the job for only $13. My pedicurist not only had the patience to deal with my disastrous toenails but also my ridiculously ticklish feet. Can you imagine trying to remove a callus on a big hairy foot that flies up at your face every 30 seconds? I can't, but it was my pedicurist's entire Saturday afternoon. She did a great job. My feet are fixed and looking great. I have friends who've had worse experiences with their staff but I can only speak for my own. Some of their staff is not very friendly - Lanny's just isn't the warmest place to be. But when push comes to shove, Lanny Nails is a solid, affordable spot in a neighborhood that usually breaks the bank. read more

I went back again and it's 7 dollars to get nails removed AND they buffed my nails so hard I was bleeding under the finger nail. They are tough on your nails and up charge on everything. And my nail broke the next day. Don't go.

AVOID THIS PLACE! Everything was terrible, from check in all the way til check out…read more First, the front desk girl seemed a bit disorganized and overwhelmed...mind you, the salon was so calm and quiet so I don't know what could've had her so anxious. While I'm waiting to get called, she realizes she messed up someone else's appointment who already got sat, they got her water running and everything, and they tell her she has to get up. A whole mess. This one obviously didn't affect me directly but it affected the overall experience. Then, I finally get called (I was waiting ~10 mins over my appointment time). The technician starts my nails when she gets the first phone call. I could see she's struggling balancing the nails and what seemed to be an important call cause she was also overwhelmed (idk what it is about this place but everyone is clearly overwhelmed). She hangs up, continues my nails and then she gets ANOTHER call. This time she just randomly stands up and runs to take it in the back room. Listen, things happen, but I knew this wasn't an emergency...she had just told me it's a package delivery. She left me waiting for, I kid you not, ~5 minutes (probably longer but let's just say 5), no explanation, no nothing. When she comes back, I say that if it's an emergency then I can wait for another technician so she can handle whatever she needs. She apologies and goes back to my nails, thankfully she didn't get up again but the finished product was HORRENDOUS on top of everything! My nails are so scratched and dry! I was really hoping to have a good experience as I'm looking for a new nail salon in the area but this was just unacceptable.
