First time here! You asked for a review so here it is. When I arrived the lady at the front desk was asleep on the chair. I almost felt bad to wake her but as soon as I said "hello" she woke up and sent me to chair 5. The 2 ladies who did my mani/pedi were wonderful. I did a hard gel refill manicure and a gel pedicure. I was told they have complimentary drinks; I asked for champagne and apparently you need to do the "deluxe" pedicure valued at $60 for this option. Which is odd but fine otherwise. Everything else was satisfactory but I do want to point out that my right toe does not meet my standards of a gel pedicure. I'm not sure where these bumps came from or if the pedicurist was able to see it. I surely didn't see it because immediately once dry she put my socks on for me. I returned after being promised a discount due to an issue with a prior service. However, when I came back, the front desk woman was extremely rude and dismissive. Instead of addressing the situation, she refused to have a conversation and showed no interest in resolving the issue. During my service, the nail that had the original problem was cut down, and I was then told I would be charged to have it properly filed--even though the issue was caused by their previous work. That completely contradicts what I was told before returning. I was also told they no longer accept Zelle or Venmo and was directed to use their ATM or go to the bank. After going out of my way to get cash, I later found out they actually do accept Venmo, which made the situation even more frustrating. What upset me most was not the money--it was the lack of accountability and basic customer respect. I had always received good service here in the past, which is why this experience was so disappointing. It felt like customer satisfaction no longer mattered. Today I had the worse experience I've ever had at QQ nails. The person who cut my nails filed them so harshly on the highest setting. I told her it and all she did was say sorry and kept filing on the same setting. She also proceeded to file so deep into the side of my nails; led me to bleed on my thumb. If you look closely, there's also fuzz under my polish. When I told her about it, the lady just painted another coat on my nails but you can still see the fuzz... I also wanted polka dots, but the lady who did my manicure could not make them look good so I opted in just the solid color at the end. At the end, I felt bad having to communicate this awful experience to Kim (the owner) and all she could tell me was "I'm sorry" and gave me a $5 discount. Honestly, I feel like I should have gotten a bigger discount due to the pain and horrible manicured nails. This place has customer service down pack. They are so accommodating and hospitable. From always checking in to make sure you are feeling well, the service is going great, all the way to asking if you would like any complimentary beverages. The quality of service provided has exceeded my expectations. The price I pay here, I would pay elsewhere and receive less quality customer service. The technicians make it so easy to want to tip them just because they go above and beyond. I was in search of a new home nail spa because my last one was getting beside themselves with prices that did not match the location, atmosphere, service provided as well as the staff and their experience. Unfortunately, updating my former 5 star review to 1. The front desk lady / owner is absolutely toxic to customers and her own techs. All the good techs have now left to start their own salon. I've come here for a year and she's repeatedly "lost" my appointment and made me wait an hour. I've repeatedly watched her be rude, abrasive and irresponsible to other customers. I guess today was my turn. After a botched manicure where I was repeatedly cut 7 times by the new tech - once to the point of bleeding and having to go clean my finger in the bathroom - AND a bad paint job, I asked her for the slight courtesy of a partial discount. As I sit and look at the quality of my nails I could not help but write a review. I came to this nail salon twice. The first visit my pedicure was really nice. The lady who did my nails was not the best nail tech but she did her best. I asked for a simple design but although she didn't do what I asked she still tried her best to make them look nice. I should have noticed there would be a problem when I seen the lady next to me complain about the quality and design of her nails but I still decided to give them a chance. Two weeks later I returned to get my nails done again and the nail tech was nice but she had no idea on how to design or shape nails. As I explained what I wanted 5 times which was almond or coffin shape nails she decided to shape them how she wanted to shape them. I asked her for cat eye design and she didn't even do that. I was so frustrated I just told her I was ready to leave and just finish polishing them. The staff did nothing, one lady asked what I wanted twice and she explained it to the nail tech but I guess she didn't understand. The fact that the staff didn't try to make it right or have a returning happy customer is the reason why I won't be returning. I don't mind paying for my service but I would like good service not mediocre. I would like to receive service from a staff that actually cares. This is the worst nail salon I've ever been to. Health and safety inspectors should really visit this place. Went in for a simple pedicure. The towels were super dirty. Looked like they were reused from last customers with stains. I didn't even see them remove the tools from a sterilized container total pedicure was 15 min. When she was cutting my cuticles and edges she actually pulled at the nail that was hanging instead of making a clean clip. That led to bleeding. With how dirty this place is I'm worried I'll get an infection. I had to tell the elder lady to be gentle twice. She's very rough I doubt she even has a valid license as she had NO idea what she was doing. I think a child would have done better. Never would recommend this place to anyone. read more

Competitive prices and free drinks with service in the middle of Melrose? Color me surprised, I had to find out if QQ Nails And Spa was too good to be true. My friends and I had a great experience here. We made appointments through the phone a day ahead and were promptly serviced on a Wednesday evening. Basic manicures and pedicures here are worth the price! They will ask you if you want to upgrade or add on anything, but at the end of the day, it's your choice. I am satisfied with my basic pedicure (which included a nice refreshing scrub) and gel manicure. There were a lot of colors to choose from both for regular polishes and gel polishes. The edges of my gel manicure could be neater but they've survived more than a week so far! On the free drinks note- the green milk tea was so bomb! It reminds me of the green thai tea from Seaside Bakery in Newport Beach (if you know, you know). And it was a full sized cup! Give QQ Nails and Spa a try if you're in the area. I appreciated how thorough and well staffed this spot was, which enabled them to see customers more efficiently, and the pedicure stations came with the electric massage chair (a lot of nail salons off 3rd street don't have these for some reason). I have been a consistent customer at QQ for about a year and a half now. Most of the nail techs have beenfriendly which brought me back even at times when i was dissatisfied with the service which, to be honest, can be very subpar & inconsistent depending on who you get. However, after my most recent experience, I won't be coming again. The woman who runs the receptionist desk, Q, is extremely rude. When I came to get my nails done last week, she was very aggressive towards another black customer who was raising concerns about her service-- literally yelling at the lady & telling her to go elsewhere which made me extremely uncomfortable to the point where I interjected and told her she didn't need to yell. A few days after my service, my nail broke. I called to see if they could tell me a good time to come in where it wouldn't be busy so I could get it fixed. I was told by Q on the phone, "We don't do appointments to fix nails. We have other customers." As if I didn't pay my money a few days prior for a service that obviously wasn't done well enough to uphold for even a week??? Anyways, when I went in to get one single nail fixed, I was in there for an entire hour. NOT ONCE did anyone apologize to me for the inconvenience. They reprimanded me because I didn't remember the exact color i got done (it was my first time ever getting this color btw & made me sort through two huge boxes of nail colors to find my color which I couldn't find. I found a color that was as close to my nails as possible & Q warned me that it would come out differently because it was chrome, not matching the color I originally got even though it looked identical on the decal & asked if that was okay with me. I told her it wasn't and asked if someone could also help me find the right color but she just ignored me & walked away. When I asked someone else for help, she looked me dead in my eyes & ignored me to the point where the girl whose nails she was doing told her, "Hey, I think she's asking you for help." The lady still didn't address me & motioned for Q to speak to me instead which honestly felt very racist. Like you can't even look at me, speak to me, or treat me like a human being??? I would say that if you're a customer here, it's best to shut up & not raise any concerns because you will be met with aggression or just flat out dismissed. Q will yell over you & interrupt you, not even listening to whatever problems you happen to be addressing. It was an awful experience. And I was there for way too long after already being inconvenienced by having to come back for a broken nail in the first place. Do not go here. And especially don't go here if you are black! I went as a walk in for a regular manicure for the first time in this salon about a week ago and it was an uncomfortable experience. The nail tech created dents in the nail and and weakened my natural nail bed.
