Wonderful Experience I visited Mimosa Nail Salon today while we're in San Juan on a Carnival cruise, and I couldn't have been happier with my experience! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and they were able to work me in within just 20 minutes! My nail technician, Angelibeth, did a beautiful job with my builder gel. She was professional, talented, and made sure my nails looked absolutely perfect. I highly recommend Mimosa Nail Salon to anyone visiting San Juan. Every time I'm in San Juan, Puerto Rico, I will definitely be coming back to get my nails done here! Thank you, Angelibeth, for the beautiful job! read more

Cindy is amazing! It was my first time coming here. The staff were super friendly. A great place to stop by during lunch or after work. I showed Cindy a pic of what I wanted and she delivered. Thanks Cindy!! I'm definitely coming back. read more

I was looking for an affordable nail salon in my neighborhood and stumbled upon Mimosa Nails and I am SO glad I did! The cheapest GelX manicure I've found in LA while still being high quality. It's been two weeks and they still look great, courtesy of Cindy, who did a wonderful job. The place is pretty small and nondescript next to Hoy's, but the service was excellent. I will be returning! read more

BEST DEAL IN TOWN BUT YOU DO HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THEIR WORK. They need to spend a bit more time before the polish. Also, massage is short and weak. read more

Old polish. Sloppy work. Not too much attention to a customer. Fast manicure. Not what they used to be.

The ladies were very nice. I wanted to try a new spot. Big mistake for me. I wanted to get my nails done for my birthday. A nail fell off two days after getting them done right before my birthday dinner. Not only that they were super big and bulky. Please save your money!!!!!!!!!! read more

Really dirty honestly. I didn't realize until I sent my mom there and she ran back to me describing her experience Don is an awesome nail technician but is sometimes overconfident in what he can accomplish, leading to some flawed designs. Been going to Mimosa Nails for over a year. Seen both Carrie and Trang & both excellent! Always do great job, never break a nail & they look great from 1st day until next visit, 3 weeks later. Also get more compliments on my nails than any previous places. On time, get you in & out quick and do great job. Average prices, and don't nickel and dime you. Very fair, and you feel they like what they do, take pride in their work and like customers. The parking super easy (in LA is huge plus) as they have a lot w plenty spots. Small spots, but never not enough. Luv this place, esp Carrie & Trang! read more

Worst pedicure ever. You really get what you pay for I guess. They didn't even use a pedicure station for me, just a bin with lukewarm water in it. I chose a light color and the woman doing my toenails warned me that it was a light color, I'm guessing because she only wanted to use one coat of paint on me?? How cheap. This is a picture of my toes one week later. Never again... embarrassing to wear open toes until I get a new pedi read more

I believe his name was Don did such a wonderful job on my nails. I got an acrylic fill and he got my shape and length perfect. He knows his clients by name which is very telling. He worked fast and knew what he was doing. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of work is great. I will be honest it's not the biggest, most upscale nail salon, but they did my nails better than honestly any other salon i've been to. I was slightly late to my appointment so he worked quicker but the quality was not sacrificed. The woman doing my toes was also very polite and meticulous in her work. I will absolutely be coming back Im so happy to have found this salon. read more

Decided to give this place a shot and I did not enjoy my experience at all - wasn't even close to being worth the $42 I paid! My pedicure was the fastest and least thorough pedicure of my life. The lady (I believe her name was Kim) rushed right through and barely even cleaned up my nails. Mid pedicure she had someone else waiting for her for their appointment. She slapped some polish on and barely put any lotion on my legs then called it a day. For my manicure I was passed between two different people and they rushed as well. The lady who I think was the owner (not sure of her name) started it and then the man (not sure of his name either) finished it up. The lady barely even cleaned up my cuticles so I am grateful I went to the guy after because he went back and cleaned up her work a bit, but he rushed through too. At the end he only put oil and lotion on my right hand and then said I was done - I had to ask if he could do the same for my left hand. While sitting at the man's station it was also very uncomfortable since a homeless person was digging through the trash right outside the window. They also had two random guys that weren't customers come in to use the restroom that said "out of order" then they just left. The space is small, there are no massage chairs, you're rushed in and out, and the location isn't great. They're also bad at time management because after I was moved between chairs/technicians, two other women with appointments came in and waited. By the time I left they were already waiting for 20 mins past their appointment times. Terribly run place! Do yourself a favor and go to Yen's Nails, CT Nails, or Garden Nail Spa instead. They're all way cleaner, do a better job, and you can actually relax during your service. Stay away from Mimosa Nails! Update on 3/19/21: Not even 24 hours after my manicure, the polish was already yellowing (pics attached). I went back and told them I was not happy and wanted a polish change. The man (found out his name is Don) that finished my manicure the day prior was the same to fix my nails this time around. Someone else wrapped my nails to remove the gel and I waited until Don was done with a client. Once he was finished they moved me to his station, he then went outside and came back a few minutes later. When he sat down he reeked of smoke so I'm assuming he went to take a smoke break. He did not wash his hands upon returning to then work on my manicure. So unsanitary! He finished my polish change but there was nothing special again. I hated even going back there to get my previous polish fixed but I had to. Hoping I don't have to go back again tomorrow! read more

Wow. I hardly ever complain about service on yelp but this was such a ridiculous experience, first I came and they asked me to come in an hour so I did. I come and have to wait, they're not even ready for me. Then the lady doesn't want to do my nails because I requested a new set and she only wanted to do a fill.. Mind you. I've had my nails for 3 months so I was long over due for a new set. I told her I did not want this because my real nail had already grown so much and I wanted it cut but she said it was "going to take too much time" to take my nails off and I guess that's not part of her job requirement??? Ridiculous. I left and I'm never coming again. Also I got bit by mosquitoes waiting there Horrible experience. read more

This used to be my go to nail place until they became careless and horrible.... I recently tried to be open minded and give them another chance , but like before my gel manicure chipped after 2 days . Horrible nail salon !! Would not recommend read more

Well they just suck and no one speaks English except for like one person so that also sucks. They don't care if you're happy with your service. This is a walk in kind of place so they don't care if you're satisfied. For $7 it's a great deal on a polish change and they're always open but you're not going to walk away with a good manicure or pedicure. At their best it'll just be ok. When I asked them to clean up my skin on the sides they said it was my fault because I didn't get a full manicure so my cuticles were too long. Even though I had a full manicure with them the week prior. They told me I was being PICKY and that they can't do a good job without cutting cuticles which is total BS. There are plenty of places that do great polish changes. It's too bad because this place is super reasonable but you get what you pay for! read more

The wait is pretty long for a manicure and pedicure, you also have to remind the staff what you're there for. I've been about 4-5 times now and it's like this every time. They're so nice but if you plan to go plan to be there awhile 1-2 hours maybe more if you're getting manicure and pedicure. There was one visit when my gel manicure was finished and I waited about 15 mins and had to remind someone I'm waiting for pedicure. read more

I really wanted to like this place, especially for their amazing deal of a gel manicure for $20!!! That's so hard to find in LA (and even more rare in the Beverly Grove area). But now I understand exactly why it's so cheap. I absolutely did not like my gel manicure from Mimosa Nails. FIRST OFF, the lady who worked on me spent less than 20 minutes total on my entire service. This is a big no no because typically- ANY proper manicure usually takes twice that amount of time due to proper care. That is how I know I was rushed. SECOND- is this even the same color?!!! Pretty sure this wasn't even the color I asked for. THIRD- I asked her to cut just a little bit of my nails off and then file the rest. But she cut it so short! Ugh talk about man hands. read more

While I was researching nail salons near my work, my co-worker recommended this place. She told me that all of the other nail salons in this area are expensive, and this particular one is much, much cheaper. She was right, because when I did a price comparison - this place (on avg.) was $10 less for the service that I desired (pedicure). I was a little nervous with the "well you get what you pay for comments on this page," but decided to try it out for myself. Upon getting there, I was immediately greeted warmly. They started my service right away and I was excited to find out that their chairs also have a back massager (major plus). The man that helped me was super sweet, and did an amazing job. If you're interested in this place - you should ask about their "foot massage" extension ($10 add-on for 15 minutes of massage). It's worth it! :) Overall, very pleased with the service, and am certainly going back again. xx read more

If you want beautiful nails and excellent customer service go see DON! Don is one of the BEST nail technicians I've had. I've worked at exclusive spas so I am a picky/difficult client and I trust Don. He listens so you get exactly what you want. He pays attention to detail and doesn't rush like others do. Don's gel manicure can last me two months without one chip! Yes I've had to wait that long between appointments. Also Don removes gel polish the correct way so there is no damage! The prices are reasonable, I would expect to pay more for the value of Don's work. I tip him based on the service and on a percentage of what it would cost at a high end nail spa. He deserves to be acknowledged for the time he spends making you feel and look amazing! read more

Feel free to spend time here if you're wanting to catch Covid. Several customers were unmasked, as well as a couple technicians. Very subpar work for the price. Plenty of other nail salons in the area you can give your business to that take better safety precautions, as well as offer a better atmosphere and experience for the same price. read more

I eat my words. The $23 mani/pedi deal is hard to beat especially in this neighborhood, for a good quality job and a decent selection of OPI/Essie. If you want an upgrade, they now have 2 chairs for spa mani/pedis. But what's best are the ladies (and guy) who work here, they are sweethearts and it's one of few places where they won't initiate a drawn-out conversation with me on what kind of Asian I am. ("You Korean? No? You Chinese? What kind?") read more

Finally tried this place after driving by it for months because my normal place doesn't do acrylics. Loved it! Thanks Don! I docked 1 star because it's a bit dirty. They don't use new files for each person either so I'll prob bring my own next time. The filing also cut my skin a little but it wasn't due to Don rushing, just the file hit my skin-it happens. I'll definitely be back, great prices. read more

Been coming here for years and they never disappoint! I love Carrie and Don. I normally get a gel mani with a normal pedi. But for my upcoming trip I wanted to treat myself to trying out acrylics, and I absolutely love them! Carrie made sure I was happy with the length, color, and shape and was very meticulous with her work. I drive 20 mins just for them and for their amazing prices as well! They're very sweet and are hard workers. I never write yelp reviews but wanted to, for them, because they're just so nice. Also it's always best to call to see if they have availability so that you can make a reservation. read more

I waited a while to get a manicure... and I should have waited even longer before coming here. I had made an appointment for 2 manicures and pedicures, but apparently they were shocked when I walked in. The gentlemen who works there was not wearing a mask, and neither was one of the customers getting her nails done. I had to ask that please put them on. As i was getting my pedicure, they attempted to give me a manicure at the same time. I paid extra for callus removal, and they did nothing but massage my feet with cream, and rub the dead skin off. As for polish, it was rushed and they rushed me to leave, as apparently they had everyone make an appointment at the same time, so they needed the chair. I had a mani/pedi in 30 min and the disappointing work shows. Terrible, unsafe service so disappointed ... will not return! read more

This place is tiny and doesn't seem to have enough space to be able to space out and feel safe. Not to mention, I made an appointment for my sister's bday and the person I spoke (3 different times) confirmed my appointment but when we got there he said we were not in his appointment book. On my sister's BIRTHDAY! Left a very bad taste in my mouth so we will never return. The upside is I found a beautiful spacious nail salon 7 minutes frome there. So I'd you are thinking about this place, think again and try somewhere else. I hate giving bad reviews, but I rely on others to help me when I picking so I want to do the same. Sorry Mimosa! read more

Its been tough finding open nail salons but luckily I found Mimosa Nails on 3rd street & San Vincente. They were very cautious with the constant alcohol wipe downs on the tables & chairs. This is my favorite spot. My Gel Manicures can last for 3 weeks even though I go every 2. Tiffany is the best and everyone is pleasant. I like to support businesses that make sure I'm a priority especially when I'm spending my coin. Some nail shops will have you feel as if they're doing you a favor by providing the subpar service they're handing out and those are the types of establishments I have zero tolerance for. I have been struggling to find a good nail technician since I moved to the beverly center, but yesterday I went in and had an appointment with Don he spent so much time on my nails and asked me every step of the way how I liked the shape. If you make an appointment and expect to be treated differently to a walk-in, you're mistaken. You will be a walk-in regardless and sit and wait long past your appointment time. If you have time, this place seemed like a nice place. If you need your appointment time upheld, do not come here. It also has bad ventilation and the smell of chemicals was overwhelming, much more than other nail places to the point that it made me dizzy. read more

Mimosa is a hole in the wall place and I only found it becasue I was waiting for my husband having knee surgery at Cedars. Had a few hours to kill & thought - why not. I havent had my nails done in 2 months, it can't hurt. I usually go back to the same lady but that wasn't an option this time. Don is AWESOME! seriously, I have paid a lot more for my nails & had crap results. Always a gel girl, I am serious when it comes to quality. As I said, I have paid more & they have peeled just 3 or 4 days later. Don was so gentle and friendly while being absolutely on point with quality and detail. A week later, they are still solid on my nails, no peels or chips, and getting loads of compliments! They are wonderful & very reasonably priced! I will make the trip just for Don again. read more
