I hired Nature's Image Tree Specialists for a full day of pruning after getting several quotes. Their price was very competitive, and the work was excellent. Chris came out within a day of my first call for a detailed walkthrough. I provided a written list of exactly what I wanted done (and what should not be done) and he took my instructions to heart. On the work day we started with another walkthrough with his five-person crew so everyone was clear on the plan. Chris and I both stayed involved overseeing the work throughout the day. I'm very particular about how my trees are pruned--I've spent decades growing them and have seen too many crews turn beautiful trees into hat racks. The results here preserved the trees' natural structure through selective hand pruning, and some previous pruning mistakes were thoughtfully corrected. The crew was upbeat, respectful of the property, and cleanup was thorough. They're licensed, bonded, carry solid liability insurance, and have workers' comp. In short, they are pros. We hired them to prune our outgrown tree branches in the front yard. My husband explained the manager and crew about that we need some shades, so don't cut the trees off and just trim the outgrown branches. My husband left for doing errands nearby and came back. Our trees got chopped off and also the manager disappeared while his guys working. I cried by seeing what they did to our trees. Manager showed up after my husband called. He made all the excuses without apologies and asked my husband "why you left home and didn't stop them cutting?," "Trees will grow." Clearly, this manager doesn't communicate well with his crew and he's not responsible. The service is not a professional. We're not happy with the money we had to pay for their job. Had a Jekyll & Hyde experience. Chris seems knowledgeable, responsive and respectful. He's good at sales. Said he was "finishing another job nearby" and agreed to lower his bid 30% to keep his crew working (on my project). Win-win, I thought. Then things changed. He left for three hours as soon as his guys started working (explaining he had to go do another estimate). Fine, but he didn't leave clear instructions for his crew, who immediately started flat-topping my trees. I'd repeatedly told him I wanted "natural cut trees, not buzz cut", yet that's what they did. During the project a neighbor stopped by and explained he'd hired this company and also had a bad experience with their service & attitude. Hmm I'd specifically said I did not want anyone on my roof, since it's very easy to break the tiles. But I turned around and saw two guys walking on my roof! Chris took time to explain what was possible and together we worked out on a plan. His crew did such a good job - they found bird nests and we worked out in such a way the birds weren't disturbed. As another reviewer has posted here - these guys aren't clock in-clock out type of folks; Chris genuinely cares about trees and nature and they took their time to trim and shape and make their work look aesthetically pleasing. They were also professional - cleaned everything nicely and left the place looking great.
