This is my second time using them. I live in a designated very high fire zone and require brush and tree trimming on my hillside. Last year they removed over 10 eucalyptus trees for a very reasonable price. They were efficient and clean. This year I had them clear brush and remove some bushes on the hill. They have always been very reasonable, fast and responsive. They have been the best experience I've had amongst tree service companies read more

This company does quality work. Our avocado tree was getting a little out of hand so we hired them to trim her back. Great price and they did a great job. Moved everything out of the way so the tree branches wouldn't hit any of our patio furniture. They made sure that they didn't scratch the side of our house with any branches. Did a great job on the cleanup and Haul away. Very friendly and courteous. If you're looking to get your tree trended, this is the company that you want. read more

I reached out to 2 other tree removal services and decided to hire Ricardo and his team. Although they had to reschedule the tree removal to the next day due to the extreme heat, that was very understandable and I think that it is great that Ricardo is out there looking after the well-being of his team. On the day of service, the team arrived on time and was able to accommodate additional requests. They are affordable, got the job done quickly, which included the removal of a very, very tall palm tree, and also cleaned up very well when they were finished. read more

M and J Tree Service is a terrific company, family owned and highly professional! I contacted them about removing a huge pine tree that was in my front yard late in the day, Ricardo was out the next day. My tree was dropping branches and had resin leaking down the trunk, turns out it had pests and the bark was also peeling off. I live on a corner lot with lots of foot traffic and cars driving by, my concern was what is one of these branches fall and hit a pedestrian walking by or a car driving by, I would be liable for any injuries. They also have an arborist, who is the son, he wrote up a report so that I could get a permit from the city to remove it. After I got the permit, the tree was removed the next day, they came on time, did an excellent job, were very careful and cleaned up beautifully! The roof and gutters were also blown off from the pine needles that have been there for months! I can't say enough about this superb company, excellent service, fair price and quick response, I would definitely use them again! read more

A big thumb to M&J Tree Service. Recently, a huge pine tree in my backyard fell after the storm. Ricardo arrived quickly to provide an unbeatable quote. I made a quick decision to hire his team to remove the broken tree, and trim all the other trees that have the safety concerns. I have to say they did an excellent job and made me worry-free about the whole project! Everyone in Ricardo's team is friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and fully focused on work quality and safety. During the 3-day project, Ricardo and his son Ricardo always led their team to arrive on time. I was very impressed that they continued working on a rainy day without a slowdown. In the end, they even recycled all the empty plastic water bottles in the blue container. If I could I would give M&J a 10-star rating! I highly recommend their services! read more

I had been shopping around for quotes on having a few large trees removed and eventually I called M&J. Ricardo came out to me within an hour or so. His quote beat out every quote I received by a significant amount. His team came a few days later right when they said they would. They spent the day working diligently and making sure my property was safe from the work being done. All in all I will definitely give them a call again for more tree removal around the yard. Messaged this business through Yelp for a quote, he came over around my convenience quickly! His estimate given to me I thought was fair and was available to do the service the following day! They came to do my trees and ended cutting my tree lights. And left a mess in my fountain and all over. Trampled my elephant plant and, and broke a clay Aztec figurine, that is irreplaceable, that my father got over thirty years ago. They broke it and did not say anything to me. Then, when I confronted them about it, they kept saying, well, I can just glue it! And when I kept asking them to replace my tree lights, it took them about three weeks, even after the so called manager came out to evaluate everything.I showed in the pictures of how they left a big mess. And he reassured me that he would compensate me for my tree lights within a few days. That turned into weeks. Very poor customer service I will post pictures. read more

Amazing work by Ricardo and his team. They are professional, on time, thorough. They are also receptive to feedback while on the job (i.e. you cut this a little shorter?). We enjoyed working with this team and would recommend to anyone looking for work on their yard. And finally, their price can't be beat. Could not be happier with their work. read more

Exceptional service. Knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely use their services again. Thank you, Ricardo!

Fantastic work. First, Ricardo was able to come out for an estimate an hour or two after I called. He arrived exactly when he said he would. walked me through what he and his team would do, and gave me the most competitive quote among three project estimates I had gotten. I requested proof of insurance for maximum safety, and the office provided it quickly. One I ok'ed the job, they were able to come out the very next morning, and man, they worked fast. They were like surgeons, taking two trees in a narrow spot. They had the trees down and cleaned up so fast, I couldn't believe it. I'm so thankful I met Ricardo and the team; this tree removal project was one I hesitated on for years, and had I known how affordable and professional it would be handled, I would have had it done long before. I'm already planning to call Ricardo for another job, so I recommend them highly. read more

We needed to have a Queen Palm tree and a very large Palo Vedra tree cleaned up and trimmed. We call more than a couple of different tree service companies but M&J Tree Service was the best priced. Ricardo was very pleasant to talk to and work with through the whole process. We had originally had a set day of Thursday that the crew was going to come out. The day before Ricardo had called and asked if we could move it to Friday because they were a little behind schedule. Come Friday morning the team showed up on time and wasted no time getting to work. Ricardo stayed on the job the whole time to make sure the crew completed the work and followed through on the requests that we had made to how we wanted the trees trimmed. The crew was fast, considerate and careful to not disturb anything else in the yard like flowers or edge lights. The crew was also very diligent in cleaning up after they were completed. The whole job with the 4 man crew took about an hour from start to finish. I was amazed at how fast they worked and did not slow one bit. These guys are outstanding. If you need a tree services I encourage you to give them a call.....ask for Ricardo. read more

Eva and Richardo did a great job with getting my 11 palm trees trimmed. Richardo was able to quote the project the next morning and his price was price was good. I needed hillside cleaning on the slope in my backyard and reached out to several companies on Yelp. Several companies came by and provided a quote, but Ricardo from M & J impressed me the most. Not only was his pricing reasonable, but he was very professional and respectful when he first introduced himself upon arrival to my home. When I told my husband I wanted to hire M&J, he asked why them of everyone else? And I said that I liked how he presented himself and that his fees were very good also. Due to ill staff and the rain, we had to delay service a couple times, but when the day came, his crew arrive promptly at 8:00 am and started working immediately. In additional to hillside clearing, I had them trim a couple trees and cut one down. It took them all day to complete the job, but they did amazing work and cleaned up wonderfully. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend M&J for any of your tree trimming needs (and hillside clearing!) read more

Great work. Very skilled. Good customer service. I have been a regular customer and always a good experience.

5-stars I will definitely recommend and refer Ricardo and team. They were on-time, fast, and efficient. M&J was one of several companies I had received quotes from. Ricardo came to our initial appointment prepared and wrote down all of our needs and has a proposal for us immediately. We had a few mature trees and shrubs removed. I needed a few trees removed (one very large one) and a palm trimmed. The service I used to use no longer has an active license, so I went on the search for a new company. I contacted two companies. One of them never got back to me. The other got back to immediately with an online quote. For good measure, I decided to reach out to a third company, which was M&J. M&J got back to me quickly and came out the next day provide a quote (the price was comparable to the other quote I received). I decided to go with M&J because they are more local to me and Ricardo Jr. actually came out to look at the trees. I texted him after he left and got on the schedule for a just a few days later. When the crew arrived, Ricardo Sr. came out to go over everything, then the crew got to work. They did an excellent job with removal, trimming, and clean up. Ricardo Jr. came out when they were done to make sure everything was satisfactory (it was). A couple of days later, we ran our sprinklers and saw that a pipe near the tree was broken. It was totally understandable given that they had to grind down a massive stump. I contacted Ricardo Jr. about it and he took care of it right away. I am so happy I went with M&J - not only because the crew did great work and communication was excellent throughout, but also because the two Ricardos seem like good people who take pride in their company and treat customers with respect. I will definitely be contacting them again for tree trimming, as well as recommending them to others. read more
