I love the new location. There is such a large variety for those with various dietary needs, such as keto, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other options. I love just wandering the store, seeking out new products and items. There is everything from fresh to frozen, canned, homeopathic medicine, soaps, and lotions. Most stores I enter have very few items I can eat. But here there are a lot of snacks, sweet items, drinks, and even packaged items such as chips. I adore that they carry a variety of flours, nut flours, gluten-free, cassava, tapioca, as well as others. The store always smells clean. In the wintertime, there is a smell of ginger. The employees are always courteous and knowledgeable. The only con is that they do not have a store in Sparks. Best tip: Don't forget to bring your own grocery bags or cooler. I bring a cooler in the summertime. Always pack more bags than you think you will need. read more

I shopped here for the first time for my organic produce and I will say they did not disappoint! I got great produce at a reasonable price. Although , they did have some limitations as far as bundles of produce. The produce, all organic, is so fresh and good. A bit pricey compared to other markets, but the quality is consistent. Spacious aisles for easy shopping. Bring your own bag. I've been here plenty of time but of course I've never gotten around to writing a review. This place offers pretty reasonably priced wholesomely organic-ish food choices. I personally come here for the eggs and to refill my water if it happens to be on the way. They have a rewards program that is pretty decent and I love how the staff here is very personable. They also do raffles and give out freebies from time to time. I like coming here but it it's really out of the way for me. I also really how this place has a small community feel to it. read more

Natural Grocers is a good source for brand name vitamins which are far more effective than the generic, average, drugstore brands which have a lot of additives, processed, & lesser amounts of actual vitamins. They have a nice selection of natural oils, such as eucalyptus, lavender, frankincense, rose petal, lemon, peppermint and others. Natural oils, leaves and roots of plants are homeopathic (natural) remedies & cures for many illnesses. Since the store relocated to its new location, it feels crammed into a smaller retail space filled with high shelving, reduced inventory and now its own impulse buy aisle you have to walk through on your way to the check out. It's no longer my fave go-to store in Reno. It feels like they consulted with a "make MORE money" firm and sold their soul. I'm taking my business to SPROUTS. read more

The fresh fruit selection is pretty slim pickings. I'm trying to figure out why on Earth organic peaches and nectarines are $5 a pound! This is sustenance this is needed food for children and adults and seniors. I feel this is a crime to charge that much for fruit. These items are double the price they should be. How much of this is actual inflation or how much of it is corporate greed is hard to tell. No wonder the peaches and nectarines are sitting there rotting, let them rot at those exorbitant prices. Maybe next time they will price them at a label where people will actually buy them instead of letting them go to waste and throwing them in the trash. read more

I love everything about Natural Grocers and this location is fantastic! The store has gorgeous, healthy produce and a lovely lay out to find holistic health, community friendly items. The staff are extremely friendly, respect, and helpful. They joke and help pack up items with such pleasant personalities. They use recycled boxes to pack groceries for the environment and they have lots of natural health items not easy to find other places. I feel happy coming here and when I leave I'm grateful. read more

5 Stars?!? Well it depends on what you want. Do you want Whole Foods? Then go to whole foods you.....dipwad!?! Oh wait. Sorry. I like this place. It's smaller and seems more likely to be like a bodega than the Walmart feel of whole foods. It's quiet, and honestly I don't like that they picked this location but should have gone somewhere in Sparks. They would have been able to own the snob food market. Good prices on everything I have purchased. This actually seems like what grocery stores should strive to be. Imagine a little more low energy Trader Joes. I'd been calling around trying to find eggs, bread, milk. Most stores I called were out. Then I remembered this store was listed on Instacart so I called. Yes they had the basics so I told the person who answered the phone that I'd be there shortly. I don't often shop here because I usually go to Whole Foods. Nothing against WH but I'm going to be coming here. The store is spotless. There is more of a selection of frozen foods than I remembered. And their prices are great. They'd lowered the price on milk and eggs and bread. Yes I said lowered. How great is that in this time of hoarding and price gouging. Thank you for how you are serving our community. read more

I just love this store. All of the fruits and veggies are organic so you don't have to look for which bin is marked which is a real plus when your trying to hurry. They have such a great selection of vegan/vegetarian items from the fake meats to frozen dinners. The workers here are so helpful and friendly. This store has everything you need including, health and beauty items, food, jewelry, candles, protein powders and vitamins, ect. I have never been in when it was too crowded either cause they will open another register if they start to get a big line . Please check this place out. The only downer is they do not have a salad bar like Whole Foods but if you buy something that you want to eat right away they do have a microwave you can use to heat up your food. read more

This is my store! I find all my natural goodies, snacks, and ingredients for homemade cosmetics I whip up every now and then. They also carry my new favorite berries (elderberries) for such a good price. Also, one of the many places that always has water in stock for refilling 3-5 gallons at a price that doesn't make your pocket scream for help. Staff are always nice and they always have deals. After a horrible experience at Whole Foods, I refuse to go back there. It's a good thing that Natural Grocers is around. Like another reviewer said, it's a hidden gem. The store is clean, uncluttered, and always well-stocked. It's never full of angry, pushy shoppers and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I'd never been to a Natural Grocers until moving to Reno and I definitely have been missing out. It's like a combo of Whole Foods, Sprouts, and Trader Joe's all rolled up into one. The biggest disappoint here is the produce. The selection is teen-iny and very pricey. Everything else in the store is appropriately priced. The selection of dry food is just enough for me since we don't typically buy much from a "box" and they carry several unique items I can't always find elsewhere like coconut aminos, ghee, different cooking fats. They sell farm fresh eggs and even duck eggs. They have an incredible selection of frozen meats, including ones straight from the butcher. They also sell Pederson's bacon which is the only one I can ever find without added sugar. Yes it's $6.99/pack. Yes I'm willing to pay that. But they also have elk and bison meat at incredible prices... if you haven't yet make yourself an elk or bison burger! Or even combine the meat with regular beef for a more rounded flavor. I thought when Sprouts opened I'd start shopping there but I was so disappointed with their selection of items and especially their prices that Natural Grocers has me fully committed as a customer. Will just have to buy my produce and a few dry goods from Trader Joe's to keep my kitchen stocked. read more

Upon first arrival, I wasn't sure what to expect from this store, it seemed a lot smaller on the inside than I had anticipated from seeing it from the outside. But as I began to walk around and look for products, I was really impressed with the selection of dietary restrictions they could accommodate with their products. The staff asked me a couple of times, while I was shopping, if I was finding everything okay or if I needed help finding anything. Overall, the products were actually priced pretty well. I got a ton of dietary specific items for a little over $100, when I had anticipated it being a lot more. I was extremely satisfied with their selection and my entire experience in the store, including thee staff's knowledge of their products and willingness to help. read more

This is our favorite grocery store within 100 miles. They have almost everything we want to find and their prices and crowds are much better than the other natural foods stores in town. We buy only organic vegan food so we love that all the produce is organic and they have a good selection of plant-based packaged foods as well (Miyoko's cheeses, plant milks, tempeh, a pre-packaged bulk section, etc.). We'd shop here almost exclusively if they carried organic Veganaise, Sown Creamer, and a couple other specific items that seem to only be available at that space traveling oligarch's store. I also love their policy of not giving people bags. They offer boxes left over from their shipments or you bring your own bags. Great policy to help minimize waste. read more

Clean floors, neatly organized shelves, workers greeting you through every aisle from the moment you walk in the door...these are the makings of a Grand Opening, which began today at Reno's newest health conscious grocery store. Not only are they geographically located between Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, their costs and selection seem to fall in between these two as well...coincidence? The store seemed easy to get around, though I have to admit I was probably one of ten customers at the time. I think the aisles are wide enough to support some of their busiest hours. The signs are visible and easy to read. There were free samples set out here and there throughout the store. There seemed to be a fair variety of brands for each kind of product one might have on their shopping list. I also noticed a community room where shoppers can sit at a bar or a choice of few tables and connect with one another over a cup of coffee or tea, and it's located next to a small library with a couple of oversized chairs. As I was greeted at the door, a clerk handed me an issue of their "Health Hotline", which highlighted a number of their products, explained their Five Founding Principles, and offered articles regarding GMOs, stress, and children's nutrition. He also handed me a flyer on their upcoming events like talks on the Paleo diet and cooking demos. I enjoyed perusing the aisles and checking out the various products and prices. It didn't seem they have all the staples I like to have in my kitchen, but I will be back as the needs fit. Though they have bag-free checkouts, they do provide boxes to help you get your groceries to your car. And when you do bring your own bag, they donate $0.05 to our local food bank. So, bring your own reusable bag and help the environment and your local community at the same time! read more

Today was my first time at this store and I am hooked! I took a slow walk around the entire store and saw a ton of items that are gluten free that I never even knew existed and their prices (at least on the things I have bought in the past) are definitely cheaper than Whole Foods. I even bought 2 sprouter jars for $5 something each. These are larger than the much more expensive (and plastic) ones on Amazon. They even have a great selection of seeds for sprouts, beans, and micro-greens at a much lower cost. I could get into SO much trouble there....lol... They have SO many cool items (that I know are cheaper than I have seen elsewhere or have never seen before). They have great quality and a nice selection of produce. It's not as large as Whole Foods, but the prices were better on most of the items I know the price for at WF. A huge percentage of their produce is organic, but doesn't seem to be as expensive. They have high standards for items to even be sold at their store. I also scoped out several items that will make a yummy and quick gluten free lunch when I am out and need something. That's hard to find around here. You will want to bring your own bags or they can pack your goods in a box. I had 2 boxes FULL! ;) They also have a GREAT selection of homeopathic "medicines" and essential oils for very reasonable prices. Be sure to pick up their little coupon book when you go inside. I easily used four today buying things I normally would. Two of the items cost less than a dollar after the coupon. read more

This is a competitor of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's out of Colorado. They are trying to get good food, supplements, and humane cosmetics to local markets and seem to be asking for low margins in return. It probably would've been off my radar, since I actually find most of my organic goods and supplements at Costco; but Mrs. "Daniel E." found it and there we were shopping at Natural Grocers. This stuff can still be pricey with low margins, but if you're really trying to control your pesticide intake, give this place a shot. Remember to bring your own bags... I found my now favorite chipotle hot sauce here (organic, of course.) There is a fine selection of kombucha (you know you are curious what it's like...). Their energy and trail food selection actually rivals REI's selection. And they have a selection of kefir, that for some reason, contains the only type of kefir that we can use. There is also a small coffee shop in the back of the store with wifi if you just want to hang out. read more
