Always welcomed with a smile. They have what I need and the prices are comparable to other places I shop. Support local small businesses.

I love just wandering the store, seeking out new products and items. There is everything from fresh to frozen, canned, homeopathic medicine, soaps, and lotions. Most stores I enter have very few items I can eat. But here there are a lot of snacks, sweet items, drinks, and even packaged items such as chips. I adore that they carry a variety of flours, nut flours, gluten-free, cassava, tapioca, as well as others. The store always smells clean. In the wintertime, there is a smell of ginger. The employees are always courteous and knowledgeable. The only con is that they do not have a store in Sparks. Best tip: Don't forget to bring your own grocery bags or cooler. I bring a cooler in the summertime. Always pack more bags than you think you will need.

Yeah, never ever again…read more It's one of those stores that only seems to carry their own proprietary brand for most items. One of the very few supplements I buy into is the optimal omega-3 to omega-6 ratio inflammation thing, so I take a basic fish oil for an omega 3 boost on days I don't eat fish and eat a lot of "bad" PUFAs. I usually get Carlson Labs (which is a well-regarded brand that isn't prohibitively pricey). The proprietary store brand thing would usually make me turn around all by itself but I had some random 30% off coupon. Which turned out to be useless as - not specified on the coupon - it can only be used on certain "blue tag" items which are among the most expensive shit in the store. Still, they had a kind of crappy bottle for $5, but good enough to hold me until I find a good sale on Carlson elsewhere. Saleswoman was just unbelievably socially inappropriate though, trying to make me feel cheap for buying the smallest bottle - tries to "upsell" me to some $35 bottle and then is like "Oh, you don't want to spend that much? It's a budget problem?" No, it's a value problem - $35 is a total ripoff next to a better-quality $15 bottle of Carlson! Also all condescending about pointing out the different amounts of omega-3 content ... thanks lady, I write for a nutrition site, always appreciate people who know less about something than I do talking to me like I'm retarted. Anyway, so yeah. Never again. The other vitamin place over by Qdoba nearby has good sales and a range of different products, I'm told.

We went looking for Liquid Death Energy drinks because they are just plain good and not filled with a bunch of shite like the other brands. We heard that the Vitamin Shoppe carried them, and did they ever! They carry the cases! 100% full score! Then enters Adam, asks us if we need help finding anything, and so we bite. He takes us all the way to. the back of the store where the beautiful full cases are stored. He then proceeds to fill us in on how clean they are and is far more knowledgable about energy drinks than a healthy man should be, we were enthralled. THEN, dude takes us around answering questions about protein bars, protein donuts, protein cereal and Adam KNOWS his shit. Like seriously has the receipts on everything in that store and beyond. Word to the wise Vitamin Shoppe, you should keep this dude happy cuz he's either gonna run your corp one day, OR put you out of business with his own. Let's just say that we are newly formed fans of the Vitamin Shoppe. They obviously have the right people in place and know great people when they meet them. It was an honor to meet you Adam, we are now proud owners of more protein and health information than we should know too.

Cod Liver oil is thought to be good for humans, so Planet Mom, who claims the stuff also tastes…read moregood, consumes a tablespoon daily. During Planet Mom's recent visit to Planet Lisa, Planet Mom expressed concern that she was running low on Cod liver oil. To prevent Planet Mom from going dry Planet Lisa provided this guest planet with a lift to the health food store. Kings Nutrition is located closest to Planet Lisa. While my planet has long been aware of the store's location adjacent to Planet Lisa's neighborhood, this was Planet Lisa's inaugural visit. As with all stores in this strip mall, parking is literally right in front of the door -- always a plus appreciated by the inhabitants of both Planet Mom and Planet Lisa. Before entering the store, a sign on the door greeted us with this message: "Blessed be all who enter here." I may not be quoting perfectly, but that's the drift. Ambassadors of Planet Mom and Planet Lisa were the only customers and therefore felt extra blessed. The store is not large. Probably the size of an average living room. It's packed with vitamins, supplements and books, and is well kept with its stock nicely displayed. Judging by the attitude and appearance of the pleasant graying woman behind the register, she appeared to be the Queen of King's Nutrition Center. She knew precisely where everything was and when the store had acquired it. If not King's queen, she is certainly King's princess. Prices seemed about average for smaller nutrition stores that tend a little to the high side. But Planet Lisa figures that what her planet saves on gas and time makes up for slightly higher prices provided just one or two items are being purchased. A large number of God-oriented books were prominently displayed. Planet Lisa did not determine whether a Christian or Eastern God was being touted because Planet Lisa's inhabitants are toasters -- meaning, we are either plugged in (alive) or unplugged (dead) -- and therefore religion, beyond what it offers to us in values and philosophically, holds little interest. Planet Lisa spent $30 because the ambassador spotted an impulse item to purchase for Planet Husband. The receipt header says: "King's Nutrition, God Bless You." Indeed. It's nice to be blessed when spending $30. In the future Planet Lisa will be expecting blessings from other businesses since even a toaster will take a blessing when parting with its money. This tiny little Nutrition Center is tucked into a strip mall also housing Round Table Pizza and the new SPCA thrift store. The mall is located on 5th Street across the street from the Gold Dust West Casino.
