Booking was really easy and convenient through their online booking portal. They offer services from 9am - 9pm, seven days a week which is amazing and unlike any other salons around the DMV. Loved this lash boutique! It was super cute, girly, and so chic inside. I also thoroughly enjoyed listening to the music that was playing throughout the salon which was a mix of current hits instead of elevator style instrumental music I usually am stuck listening to while having my lashes done. Kiara, better known as Keys, was my lash technician and was waiting with a pleasant smile on her face when I arrived, despite my being a few minutes late. She was so personable, warm, and friendly that it felt like we'd known each other for years despite being my first visit to Winkd for lashes for my birthday trip. Keys was very informative, answered all my questions, and kept me very relaxed and entertained through my service. She accomplished both my lash extensions and brow tinting with such gentle care and precision, even though I was running late and she had another client right after my appointment. I'm not sure any other place or lash technician would have been so accommodating. Unfortunately, despite following the instructions I was given for lash care, my extensions only lasted me 4 days which was a bit disappointing for the $180 base price I paid for my set. My lash extensions don't always last as long as my friends' and colleagues' but i typically am able to keep them for at least 7-10 days minimum. I also wished the $30 brow tint would have come with a little brow trim or clean up, not a full shaping, arching, or waxing but a quick little trim or clean up would have been nice before the tint application. This would have been similar to how when I have my polish changed at my nail salon, they do a quick trim / file/ buff of any misshapen nails before polish application, as a courtesy. Those aspects would not deter me from recommending Keys or Winkd salon to a friend though, so check them out and get yourself WinkdByKeyyyss *****check them out with that name on IG).

The brows that she does she explained to me Is not microblading which some who provide that particular service can sometimes scar but I got powder brows and I am still healing but I had no bleeding, no discharge and they are spectacular. The color faded briefly during the healing just as was explained to me to give it three weeks and the color would come back and it has. I am so happy I got this done because my brows were almost nonexistent. No more drawing them in with hopes of them being correctly placed on my face and not looking crazy. Kristen is a gem. I was a client myself and also brought my 16-year-old daughter for treatment. The owner was unprofessional, inflexible, and provided poor customer service. When the treatment was ineffective, my daughter was made to feel as though it was her fault, which is completely unacceptable--especially when working with a minor. There was no clear plan of care, no accountability for poor results, and the equipment used does not appear to be state-of-the-art. Rather than adjusting the approach, responsibility was shifted to the client. I would walk around with a full beard before I ever give this woman another penny of my money.

My first lashes appointment was with Fernanda and they looked great, but they all fell out when I went on vacation and my face was assaulted by the wind and salt water of the Pacific - I also didn't know you have to wash them to prevent oily buildup, so yeah. I came back two weeks later with literally no extensions left and had to pay for a full set all over again rather than a touch-up. I do wish they had told me about needing to wash them, because I really wasn't provided with the full aftercare instructions the first time I got them. But, now I know. They sell a special foam wash and gentle applicator for the soap here, which I recommend purchasing. My second session was with Viktoriia, who is absolutely incredible. Mynx & Inks is definitely out of the way if you live in DC, but it's worth it for the fair pricing and amazing quality.
