While I found the studio to be nice and Recy and Alice both welcoming, I am less than pleased with the final product of my eyebrows. I had my eyebrow appointment on January 18, 2022. It's been just over a month since my appointment. Initially while still in the studio, I thought my eyebrows looked okay but way, way dark. I told myself the color would fade (it's not my first time microblading) but I also didn't realize how dark they were nor how misshapen they were until I got home. I was a little nervous coming to a new artist so I completely forgot all of the questions I needed to ask. First of all, I should have been concerned when Recy asked me if I liked my shape and color multiple times. My answer to both questions was yes - because I did, however, Recy did not match the shape or color.. at all. I should have been concerned when Recy did not measure out my eyebrow (as my previous artist did) but instead was free handing my eyebrows. Again, I should have said something at the studio but I was keeping my mind blank to brace myself for the pain (I'm a big baby when it comes to pain) and I was also trusting Recy as a "Master Artist". This is a warning to everyone - do NOT let your artist free hand your brows! Make sure they map out the shape of your brows!!!! The result of this is that my brows are not symmetrical to each other nor does it match my face. I have one eyebrow with that is much more visibly arched. On top of that, one eyebrow has two lines that are not even within the shape of my eyebrow (one top, one bottom). Second, the color. She asked me if I liked the color of my current eyebrows, and I did! The color she picked for my eyebrows was NO WHERE NEAR the color of my previous brows. It makes my eyebrows look sharpie black, makes my face look sharp and angry. My previous color made my face look soft. Additionally, my natural hair color is NOT black but a dark, dark brown. This black microblade makes my face look SO off. Putting my first microbladed eyebrows (done by an artist out of state) next to my current eyebrows and there is a distinct difference. I am actually embarrassed by my eyebrows and do not like looking at myself or taking pictures of myself. If I could turn back time, I would actually buy plane tickets to California to visit my previous artist or just continue to fill in my brows daily! While in the studio, Recy also mentioned that I may need a touch-up. However, she failed to mention that the touch-up is NOT included in the $700+ price of the procedure. When I called to schedule a follow up, I was shocked that I was being told it was $100+ for a touch up. Additionally, when I told the person on the phone that I was unhappy with my shape and wanted to fix it, I was still quoted $100+. I currently have a touch up appointment scheduled but am highly considering finding another artist at a different location to fix my eyebrows. Lastly, I was less than impressed by the aftercare. She essentially gave me a little booklet that showed the phases my eyebrows would go through and two packets of cream. There was little in the way of actual instructions. read more

Update: after allowing my eyebrows to heal, I'm noticing more patchy coloring with one of my eyebrows. A touch up really should be included given the prices they charge. _________ The experience: feather touch combo, $675 with Penny Overall, getting my eyebrows done here was a positive experience albeit overpriced compared to the west coast. Here are some things I wish I knew beforehand: 1. The design is done entirely by hand with eye measurements; I know other places use more objective measures like rulers or inked string. This led to some asymmetry where one eyebrow tip is higher than the other. When I pointed it out, they didn't believe me. It is definitely slightly lower and I'll probably just have to fix it with my regular Botox treatments to lift one side to match. 2. Language barrier. Recy's English is significantly better than Penny's. I would ask Penny a question and find that she didn't understand me because her response would be incomplete or limited or not appropriate. If you speak Mandarin Chinese, this will not be a problem. 3. After following all the aftercare instructions, there are still patches where the ink is lighter and will need to be touched up. This is normal. Touch ups are generally included in the fee, however, touch ups start from $75 here. Fortunately, I am familiar with the process and can do my own touch ups. 4. The feather touch combo isn't worth it. Just stick to all hair-strokes or powder techniques. I can barely see the few dots she made in between the hair-strokes. Of note, they use Biotouch Pure micropigments if you're interested in that kind of thing. read more

I want to start by saying, I am VERY picky and not an easy client to work with. No one has ever touched my eyebrows, and I've drawn them myself (the same way everyday) for the last 3 years. Right off the bat, I knew I wanted the 4D combo after reading the reviews (I highly recommend). I live in VA and drove 30+ minutes for my first visit. Although we couldn't agree on the shape during my consultation, Recy and Penny were very patient with me. They stressed how important it was for me to be happy with the results and allowed me to schedule my procedure a few days after. I went home with their recommended, drawn-on design and I let it grow on me. My next appointment, I went in with a full face of makeup on (including my normal eyebrows) and after some minor tweaks and touch-ups, and a thumbs up from Recy, Penny worked her magic and it turned out wonderfully! The process itself was a bit painful (a little better with the numbing cream) and took about 1 hour, but at the end, it was all worth it! It's going to take some getting used to but my bf already likes it more than when I do them myself :-) thanks so much ladies! This is my first Yelp review but I had to write one for them because they did such a great job. I'll try to be helpful and informative! 1) When you call to schedule, you may not be able to get an appointment for at least a month out. So if you're eager and you know you'll have the money by a certain time, then make the call! 2) When I went in, I did both the consultation and the procedure in the same day, and the whole process took about 2.5 hours, but I already went in kinda knowing what I wanted. You can do the consultation during your appointment time and then schedule the actual procedure for another day. 3) There's different options, ranging from $475 - $750, depending on what you want. To me, the more expensive options look more realistic. I got the "4-D Combo," meaning that Recy gave my brows hair strokes and powder. This was $750. 4) You choose the color yourself. I chose the darkest color possible because I knew that they would fade through time, and also because my natural hair is dark. I was worried that they would look too dark and unnatural on my lighter skin but as you can see, they look perfect. 5) They shape and design your brows for you. So, if you're not a makeup person, don't worry about not knowing exactly how you want your brows to look. They're truly artists and they'll design brows that are good for your face. They'll show you the design on your face before they do the procedure. 6) You pay after the procedure. I thought they would make me pay before because I'm young, but they didn't discriminate or treat me differently at all based on my age or my possible inability to pay. You sign several forms before the procedure that I didn't really read haha, but they probably guaranteed that they would get paid. 7) If you pay with card, they use one of those machines that asks for a 15, 20, or 25% tip. Be careful lol. Of course I automatically hit the "25%" because Recy did such a great job, but remember that this was 25% of $750.. so that's $180 that I didn't mean to spend, on top of the $750! I didn't think about it until later. So just be careful, and you can "write in" your own tip because even 15% is a lot if you're not prepared to spend it. 8) I did the procedure over my winter break from college so I had absolutely nowhere to go during the healing process. My brows were fully healed in two weeks. I didn't wet them, or touch them (I used face wipes, and I slept on my back). I used the ointment that Recy provided for 10 days after the procedure. She provided more than enough for me, so I didn't actually have to go out and get the ointment after the procedure like some of these reviews say. It made my brows shiny, so I was glad that I had nowhere to go during this process. Maybe I was using too much of the ointment lol. Just be prepared for that. 9) I went in for the touch-up a month later, which is optional. I wanted to get some spots filled in that had faded, which you can maybe see in the photo. Natural brows are not supposed to be "perfect" anyway, so I really didn't even have to do that. This was $75. Either way, I would still go in for the touch-up appointment just so Recy can see how her hard work has healed! 10) The brows will last three years before completely fading. Most people go in every 1.5 years for a $475 touch-up rather than starting the entire procedure from the beginning after three years. The top photo shows my "before", the middle photo is the "after" right after the procedure, and the bottom photo is one month later, when I came in to do the touch-up and the brows were fully healed :) Recy is AMAZING and I'll be coming back to her next year and every year for the rest of my life for my touch-ups. I had Microblading done on my eyebrows. I give 4 stars because of the friendliness, the great customer service and the office atmosphere. I don't give 5 stars because there are some areas of my eyebrows that do not have the color anymore. I noticed this after fews weeks of healing, but they did say everyone has different results. Also my left eyebow is longer slightly so it's not even with the right eyebrow. I paid over $700 which includes tip. I thought price was high but I was paying for quality since they had good reviews. I was told I can come in for a touchup for $75. This place is far from my home and parking in the garage is expensive for the almost 4 hours I was there the first time.
