All of the staff were so helpful in helping us with everything and so professional. They were all so kind too. We like natomas eye works optometry. After several bad experiences with several optometrists of my lifetime of wearing glasses for 32 years I've only found two optometrists I really liked. I would say Dr. fong was the one of the bests we ever had and the other optometrists we loved is in Concord. Dr Fong was very good about his instructions and he actually seemed like he cares about eyes. He was a lot more accurate in giving me a correct prescription and he very much cared if I could see properly. Thank you Dr. the other doctors we had examine our eyes rushed us out the door. About a month after I picked up my prescr iption glasses I had an annual physical with my GP. When I covered my left eye I could not read ANY lines on the eye chart with my right eye only. The woman who did my initial tests talked to me like I was a child. When I asked the doctor about my eyes getting kind of goopy and crusty during the night he completely dismissed it as nothing. When I got my new glasses the optician didn't bother to ask if they felt okay, she just told me it would take a few days to get used to them and I was out the door. A week later I went back because the glasses were not right. The optician had marked the optical centers in the wrong place. The doctor seemed a bit rude to me for having to recheck my eyes and the optician wasn't too nice either. In the end I got a good pair of glasses, but it took the optician two tries to get the lenses right. I won't be going back. read more

The Doctor is amazing, but sadly his staff dropped my rating down. The ladies in the front are absolutely atrocious. They dont acknowledge your presence and when you do get their attention their attitude smells worse then a fried fart on a picked butt. If you do not want to work, it shows, go home and give somebody else that will represent this establishment with class, customer service and a smile. I did not have very good experience with this office. Went in to get I eye check up recommend to get progressive lenses. The prescription was written I did not choose frames at this facility because they didn't have any that I liked. Went to another office with the prescription. The classes did not work for me for some reason it was super blurry. I took the glasses back to the second facility got a full refund. No problems they suggested I go back to the original doctor and recheck my prescription. The glasses were double checked by two different doctors at the second facility. Here's the problem calling back this Natomas Eyeworks to get a redo On the prescription. First of all very bad customer service. They told me that they would not do a redo on my prescription because they couldn't take a look at the Glasses. Well they should've told me their policy because I would've never got my prescription there. It does not cost a doctor anything for them to redo the prescription I'm not sure why they would they do mot want to satisfy their customer. I don't recommend this place I'm moving on! read more

This business does not care about their customers or making sure they give you the correct prescription. After an extensive exam I paid A LOT of money for glasses that are not correct. They made me feel dizzy and it felt like everything was overmagnified. They were unwilling to help correct the lenses unless I paid even more money on the already pricey glasses I paid for and cannot use. I went there a year and a half ago for an eye exam with Dr. Fong. I later asked for both my reading and progressive prescriptions so I could purchase glasses. The staff was courteous and emailed them right over. Upon printing them, I noticed they were the exact same prescription. I went in to the office and inquired about this and they said that was correct, not a mistake. (?) I then purchased reading glasses elsewhere using the prescription he gave me and noticed they seemed really strong. They gave me headaches and I struggled so much that I had to go back to using $2 drugstore glasses for reading. Yesterday, I went to a different eye doctor for my annual exam. In short, he said the prescription I was given by Dr. Fong was WAY to strong for me AND that the progressive and reading glasses prescriptions should NOT be written the same. On December 05, 2013, I was a new patient, I have had to pay out of pocket for all of my services due mis-filed paperwork. I have tried going in there to straighten it out myself however it does requires their cooperation in finishing their portion of the electronic form, I have also had representatives from both eyemed and bcbs phone, it's all very strange to me that these same two women act like they have no idea that I have called them every week for the past 4 months! Oddly enough one of my children had an appointment a week later than I, and everything was covered per our policy agreement. However the prescription she received is not accurate! read more

My experience has been awesome! I took my husband last year and Dr. Fong was very gentle with him as he could sense he was not a healthy man and did the exam for cataracts with his hands instead of the machine to make him more comfortable. We never mentioned he was on dialysis with kidney and liver disease, but again he detected his weak condition. I choose to have my first exam at this office myself last month because of his kindness and perception. Once again he proved to extend the same manner to me and I am healthy Dr. Fong did not push, suggest or offer purchasing new prescription eyeglasses from him. I brought my old prescription eyeglasses with a previous prescription that he offered to have Kimberly adjust for me since they were still good 15 yrs. later. Need I say more? I will recommend his office. Kimberly was very helpful and atttentive both over the phone and in person. read more

I have an eye disease called Myopic Macular Degeneration and need contact lenses to help correct the little vision I have left. I have 20/200 in the left eye and 20/400 in the right. Getting a new pair of contacts is a daunting task for me not to mention for an Optometrist. Dr. Fong was very patient and after a couple of tries, we just couldn't get the prescription right so I opted for some transition lenses instead. One of the side affects of having this eye disease is extreme sensitivity to light, unfortunately the transition lenses that were custom made for a pair of frames I brought them didn't work out either. They took too long to get dark and I was getting headaches :( During this whole time, Sandra (office manager) and Kimberly (optician) were VERY patient and understanding with me. At one point I was so mad I stormed out mumbling something under my breath; frustrated that the second pair of contacts weren't quite right. I came back a week later and apologized for my behavior. Kimberly says to me "don't worry about it, we have thick skin" :) One day, a sunglass rep was in their shop and Kimberly went out of her way to find a pair of sunglasses she thought I would like and I did! They're working out great. As an employee/owner of a small business (35 employee/owners), I pride myself in providing exceptional customer service. Our company motto since 1948 has always been 'Customers Make Paydays Possible' Well the team at Natomas Eyeworks far exceeded my expectations! Outstanding customer service! The office is warm and inviting and has a great location (next to the Rite Aide on Del Paso near Safeway). You can find many well lit and inviting places but what you won't find often is a person or team willing to go out of their way to make a customer happy. I would give this place 0 if it were an option. I've been here twice, once when they first opened and then today, both times looking for frames. My first experience was the same as today; I enter and not one acknowledgment from the ladies in the store. I thought after all this time the customer service would improve, not at all, still rude. I love Dr. Fong, he is simply the best. His front office staff is just unpleasant. They aren't welcoming, they are rude and condescending - and they are very quick to charge you for glasses and contacts but not so helpful if something goes wrong. My glasses that cost more than $900 after insurance and my spend - broke. I glued them together and then went to the office to ask if they could do something because they were under warranty. The woman who is 'assisting' claims to go and ask her manager what can be done and then comes out of the office saying that nothing can be done because I glued them. After explaining I need my prescriptions and will go elsewhere, she says she might be able to get me a discount. Nope! I am done our family spent over $2000 dollars including insurance there last year. I really think Dr. Fong is awesome, but those women in the front office are literally ruining his business. Absolutely a great experience with Dr. Fong and his staff. Was able to set up an appointment with no problems, they knew exactly how to work with my insurance, and the entire experience was really smooth. The biggest aspect of this visit that stuck out was their ability to fit me with contacts. I had never truly worn contacts before, and the few times I had tried in the past ended up with me being frustrated with the incorrect prescriptions. I had somewhat resigned myself to not being able to wear contacts. Well I decided I wanted to give it another go and Dr. Fong was fantastic in helping me find theright prescription (He narrowed it down to the perfect contacts for someone with an Astigmatism), and the staff was extremely patient with me as they showed me proper use. This olace is very nice and clean, I have been coming here for 4 years one of the ladies here has NEVER been nice at all, but on my last visit I waited infront of the counter for 12 min!!!!!! she saw me but not once stop to help me there was absolutely no other costumers in the office but me!!! then when she finally decided to help me I told her i wanted to order 6 months supply for my contacts I told her that i have two insurance on file to only use mine not my husbands since i wanted to use my husbands later on in the year, nope she didnt even look and she used my husbands insurance and somehow mine too so i had no credit left on either one both VSPs insurance had been used ....i went to 3 different optometrists and they told me unfortunately i had to pay out of pocket because she used both of my insurance ...not to mention how inpatient she was when i was trying to decide the color of my contacts....I will never go back to this place read more

I had my first eye exam with Dr. Fong at Natomas Eyeworks Optometry. My job changed vision insurance so I had to go to a new location. I was bumed out because I really liked my old Optometry place. Anyway, the staff was wonderful! The lady that did my testing before seeing Dr. Fong, was friendly, kind, and sweet. I was at ease doing these tests with her. After the tests where done, Dr. Fong came in and saw me right away. I really appreciate Dr. Fong. He was very thorough and took the time to explain to me the tests he was doing. I talked to him about some concerns I recently had and he immediately did a test to make sure my eye muscles were ok. He explained the images of my eyes in details. He showed me where everything is inside my eye and the nerves and why its important to have these images taken. He is a very patient doctor and really listens to your concerns. I recommend Dr. Fong to anyone, he does not rush you and makes sure you understand everything!! read more

I moved to California 5 years ago and had not gotten my eyes checked in all that time. I finally did 2 weeks ago and came here because it had good reviews and was close to my job and house. It was a great decision as this was the best eye exam I've ever gotten. It was so thorough and I had tests done that I've never done before. My eyes stayed the same and I'm confident with this exam it is completely accurate. I ordered my contacts through their office and a couple days later they text me that they were ready to pick up. Last week I scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Scott Fong. I was recommended to him and I am so glad I pursued this recommendation. I have found the best optometrist ever! He is personable, professional, and he explained every step of my exam. I opted for the Optomap, which is a ultra-wide field retinal imaging device. My insurance did not cover it but it was well worth the extra $29.00 I paid out of pocket to have this done. So much can be detected through the retina and this device can detect early signs of diseases such as; stroke, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. It is an impressive device and I recommend it to everyone. Dr. Fong went over my results with me, pointed out details in my Optomap photo, and I was happy to hear that I had very healthy eyes. Dr. Scott Fong will continue to be my official optometrist and I have already recommended him to friends and family. I also found the office staff to be friendly and professional. My fiancé recently had an appointment with Dr. Fong to resolve a was an acuity issue/not having crisp vision. After performing what was a rather routine examination she was issued a prescription for new lenses which supposedly would have resolved her issue. New frames and lenses were purchased and upon receiving them she had slightly better distance vision and her near vision was not improved. We scheduled a follow up appointment with the UC Berkeley Eye Care Center, one of the premier optometric schools in the United States, where she saw dr. Kathy Tran. It was determined in a 45 minute appointment that my fiancé was in need of cataract surgery and no matter what refractive lens she would wear her vision would be unimproved until the surgery was performed. I would not recommend Dr. Fong services which seem to be quite superficial in nature and this procedure certainly should have been identified by him quite easily. read more
