I'm sorry that I even need to make this but I've been a pretty loyal customer for quite a while. I'd say, since I was about 14? 15 years old? Anyway. I'm 30 now. I felt that I've been pretty tolerable. Other locations? Great. This specific location has terrible customer service and makes me DREAD working with them. There is this one specific receptionist that goes by the name of "charisma". I called to make an annual exam and truthfully, it was a hurdle on its own taking to someone who was clearly having a bad day. On top of that, she made it absolutely abysmal to even confirm my identity of all things. The manager made everything right and she was fantastic but why do I need to pass through a vile gate to get to the kind lady? This is NOT the first time I've spoken to her but it will be the last. Also, I needed a basic eye exam to refresh my prescription. Basic eye exams are 60$ and this is what I've always gone with. I was now told that "they have always been 130$". A wide selection at various price points and even if you don't have insurance, there are usually sales of some sort going on so it's worth a look whenever you're in the area and keep track of sales for the best deals. The day I went I not only had exceptional service from everyone from the desk to the exam to the ordering, and as usual, Dr. Nguyen-Vu. It was extra fun since it was Ugly Holiday Sweater Day so everyone was extra fun and upbeat yet as professional as ever. I really appreciated how much help I received to get the most of my insurance benefits such as adding in anti-reflective and blue light protection. The reason I can't give 5 stars is that during the course of the year I had trouble reaching them by phone, and the first order I placed took close to 6 weeks to get since it was on back order and I think I should have been contacted and asked if I wanted to wait that long or pick another frame that was in stock. That's not a problem with this particular office but one that Nationwide as a company should be dealing with re: their supply chain and also ensuring phone inquiries can be handled better. read more

Terrible. Customer service was really bad. The lady didn't seem to know what she was doing for the first test. Seemed extremely tired or drunk or on some kind of meds that make her drowsy and barely responsive. Then I get into the eye test and the rude, dismissive doctor blames me for not being able to decide which is clearer (I've never had this happen before and I've done countless eye tests). Finally I get my contacts and they are way off on one eye. Never has this happened to me at any eye exam place - it's normally a breeze. Not to mention, it's overpriced. Never again, Went in for an eye exam and after i was told to wait to get checked out, i waited 20 min until i went up to the counter to ask how much longer. They pulled my stuff up right away so i was waiting for no reason. Then they wanted to tell me my eye exam was $200! That's ridiculous!!!! I've never paid more than $50 for an exam. I don't even buy contacts from them anymore because they don't even have the ones i want and they wanted to charge me close to $800 last year for a year supply.... Absolutely insanity , i can buy them on 1800 contacts for $2-$300.....If i was told that my EXAM would've been $200 i would not have even gone there. read more

Was told no credit for contacts and had to pay for glasses. Requested to speak to manager since January 20 and she has not responded. I ordered 2 pairs of glasses on June 28th. I was told I would have in 2 weeks. I called every day last week, order still not in. So I call today was told the frame is on backorder and lens for the other glasses is on backorder. It has been 3 weeks since placing my order, and no contact from Nationwide Vision as to why they are delayed. This place has gone downhill since Brandi left, they do NOT care about their customers. Worst Customer Service provided by ' Manager". Went to get glasses post cataract surgery and she did not know how to provide service, after I asked for a manager, she said she was the manager, well after persuading her on asking to contact someone that could assist as I received a voicemail from another manager that I could receive glasses under my plan. She told me she got it resolved but told me several customers were ahead of me and I could get help getting the glasses when they had time. Mind you I was the first person who walked through the door before anyone else. This the second time I have tried to go here to get my glasses tightened as this is a service they offer for free the first time they had the doors locked 30 mins from closing time. I just left there because u waited 26 mins after being told she was gonna answer the calls that where in hold as I understand cause I'm a receptionist my self but a man walked in that lost a contact on the side of the road and she went to help him when I was next! Unbelievable didn't bother to acknowledge the fact that I was already waiting for 10 mins or more while the other lady in there that was helping a customer talking about nails and just talking to her like nothing she didn't acknowledge me either but sure did to the man that walked in! Went in to look at new glasses frames and our lady was helpful finding me the best deal. I was impressed with the actions and safety precautions they were taking for our safety of covid-19. The only reason why this isn't a five star review is because I have to have my eye re-examined because my subscription ended during pandemic. The store was closed and I couldnt get in the store before it expired to order more contacts and glasses. Now I have pay for another examination which ain't cheap and they wouldn't work with on it. My 4 year old son has had glasses his entire life. He unfortunately was born with the need. I came into this facility and provided a digital prescription. They produced the glasses in about a week. When I went to pick up the glasses they refused to release the glasses without a paper copy of the script. Common sense I offered to email, text, drop box, google drive or in any way I could provide the digital copy so they could simply print it out.... they refused. They don't print. Pretty sad when your employees double bill also called fraudulent billing, then while give they you your contacts in the wrong prescription and even as you tell them multiple times I can't see I got sent home with just takes time to get used to it. I knew something wasn't right but apparently money is more important than consumers who paid and don't get what they paid twice for. I was sent home with the direction to use the lenses and just suffer while I can't see ANYTHING to only find out a week after suffering I was given the wrong prescription twice in same visit. Then yesterday as my insurance company reached out to tell the rude store manager (I recorded her even asking why she was laughing at me on my recording) that she was infact incorrect in lying to the customer stating my insurance doesn't cover contact lens exam she flat out refused to bill the insurance company and refund the second charge I paid in cash and bill my insurance as I presented my insurance and an additional $250 of flex card benefits so $550 spent in insurance and flex benefits and still had to pay $167 out of pocket. So most businesses would be happy to help the consumer by using insurance available instead of stealing hard earned money from the consumer ontop because the store billed the insurancefor an eyeglassexam that never took place using my insurance then billed me $50 for another contact exam in the same visit. I never even spoke to the doctor about glasses. I did repeatedly staye i had just purchased glasses from Nationwide vision at another location less than two months earlier. I had a valid eyeglass prescription. I also suffer dry eyes a condition I was previously diagnosed with so again on recording I ask the female helping me if they had preservatives free cleaning solution and wetting drops. She brought me back two bags already bagged and I confirm if she checked that they were in fact preservative free and she stated yes but the truth is she lied and so I wasted my new contacts I just received that were monthly lenses by soaking them in preservatives. I directly added preservative blinking drops to ease dry eye but actually had more complication and irritation causing a migraine. Why? Why do you have a location that is being managed with poorly trained workers who would out right lie to get a sale? Why won't anyone from corporate return the consumers call after 4 messages left for the district manager and one to his supervisor. Today being told at past noon that those employees are to busy to address my concerns. I'm glad I record and document my experiences and can skip the he said she said stuff and release the way my experience was on social media. Times are hard and I would rather spend my money with a business that has time to address my concerns I mean they got paid 9 days ago and yet I got nothing in return but double billed, wrong prescription twice, contact solution that I specifically asked no preservatives yet got to suffer further pain and irritation, got laughed at by the person who identified as a manager but rather treated me with deflection and disdain. Now in the last 9 days I've spent over 12 hours of my time, gas (we all know it's not cheap) trying to just get what I PAID for and refunded for what I SHOULD NOT HAVE PAID FOR. I have the multi 4 bottle contact solution and 2 bottles of rewetting drops that all have preservatives so more financial losses and your company doesn't have any upper management to actually speak to the consumer? Bad business #dobetter I will be doing fraud claims with insurance and my bank since I have tried and tried to get resolve and now will have to repeat my eye exam and time loss at another vision center ALL BECAUSE THE MONEY AND SALE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN IF THE CONSUMER GETS WHAT THEY ACTUALLY PAY FOR. read more

I had my appointment at 11:50 am on 10/3/23. Took 4 hours off from work to show up at 11:30 am. One of the front desk lady talked to me (Not very friendly). I noticed the office was crowded. She finally hand me a piece of paper and asked me to call my insurance provider. I was shocked and asked her. Why do I have to call? My previous visits, I did not have to call. She told me because the office is out of my insurance provider network. When I was there in person a few days earlier to make the appointment. I was not told that I have to call my insurance provider. I was asked if I am going to use the same insurance on file. I said yes. Anyway, I just told the lady that handed me the paper and asked me to call that I don't have time, and left the office. I believed that they did not call to verify my insurance information prior my appointment. Then over booked other appointments. So when I showed up for my appointment. The staff are friendly and helpful but the current doctor is beyond awful. Dr. Teresa Nguyen-Vu is rude and barely even speaks to you as a patient. I've seen her before and regretfully went back. The first time I thought maybe it was an off day but no she's just that terrible. She won't introduce herself, ask you any questions about your eyes, very quick and rude for the exam then walks out. That's it. That's the entire appointment. Doesn't check new contacts on you, doesn't tell you if your eyes changed, doesn't ask if you have any concerns. She acts as if you're bothering her. I highly recommend calling and making sure you don't have an appointment with her if you go there. read more

My appointment was at 1:20. At about 1:00 I got a text confirming my appt for 3:30, when I called to question this they said they had to change it! How do you NOT tell the customer that you changed their appointment??? When I got there at 3:15 as requested I sat in the waiting area until 4:15 before they even took me back to do the 1st set of tests. Then I was there another hour to get my actual exam and order my contacts. They did not offer me a trial pair, which I needed since my prescription had changed. Then when I asked for the trial pair they gave me the wrong prescription!! Really!!! When I went back in about a week later to pick up my contacts they had them marked for the wrong eyes. Luckily I know which contact goes in which eye. What a mess. I have been going here for years, but this was absolutely my LAST visit. I tried to ask her a few questions after the exam was done but she turned her back to me as a hint to get lost. The staff wasn't any better. I am a new customer to nationwide vision off of 83rd and Bell in Peoria AZ. I went in about 3 weeks ago to get a eye exam, contacts, and saw their deal on glasses so I went for it. They said it would take 7-10 business days.The customer service that the manager gave me was mediocre and as she ordered my glasses and contacts. Tried to call several times to check on the delay of my order and no one ever answered. My husband went in to find out why I haven't received my order and Come to find out they want to blame the system for not ordering my glasses and sending my contacts to an old address. During my initial ordering process I expressed how we have a different address (2 times) than what is on file, and that we should send my contacts to the store with my glasses. When I Inconveniently had to come back to re-order my order from about 3 weeks ago there was no apology for any inconvenience that they gave me, and tell me they will try to put a rush on it but it should be another 7-10 business days or basically 2 weeks. Thats means it is over a month altogether. I will never come back to nationwide vision. read more

I've used this location for years and recently got contact lens prescriptions for my two sons here. The staff is always super friendly and prompt. Samantha taught my kids to put in their contact lenses. It took my son 45 minutes to become comfortable with putting a contact lens in his eye, and Samantha had neverending patience and encouragement for him, plus she taught him multiple techniques until he found the way he liked best. read more

She was kind, patient & did her best to make my daughter happy. I didn't feel pressured at all, like some of the other locations. My total was way less than expected and that made me happy. I set two appointments here for my girls because their pediatrician recommended that they get checked out. The location is close to my house which is a plus. The staff here was nice and they were able to get my girls in within 10 minutes of being here. The office is clean. The choices they have for glasses are limitless and have everything from retro to what's in. When getting a child glasses it helps to have options as this process is nerve wrecking for them and to be able to choose from different options makes things easier for their transition. Luckily our insurance has covered all the expenses which get pretty high when you are dealing with numerous children. I like the Kate spade collection their adorable. Would def recommend this location to anyone looking to get their eye wear needs met. read more

I also had a problem where my last pair of lens ripped and the girl who helped me(Samantha) was able to give me a sample pair for free until my new pair came in the mail. I have been lucky enough to have great vision my entire life, but have been experiencing really bad headaches frequently. As a nursing student, I spend most of my time studying, reading, and on my computer and would often lose focus and get such a bad headache I'd have to stop. When I was advised to see an eye doctor, I felt silly because I could see just fine. I contacted nationwide and spoke with Brandi. She was so kind, helpful and made me feel very comfortable. At my appointment, there was very little wait time and the doctor was wonderful. She was able to find the problem, explain it to me, and give me exactly what I needed to stop the headaches. Brandi helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses, and I got them in less then 2 weeks. They already make such a difference when I am studying and on the computer, and I hardly get headaches or any of the other things I was experiencing.
