Resurfaced Pool With Lots of Stone Repair
    Kit L.

Jon came out to my pool before the review was written and looked at the pool and it was from the pour and not calcium. Take a look at the photos and you can see the original patterns in the quartz finish. This expansive issue was from a porky mixed Friday pour. Stop alleging this was calcium when you came and looked at it and said there was nothing you would do after pouring the pool the second time.

Jon and his crew did a fantastic job adding steps to our existing spa. Jon and Carlos came out checked everything before and made sure we got as many steps so the raises weren't do high for my bad knees. When the crew left everyday everything was super clean. Don't look any further for your pool needs Nationwide is the best.

Our backyard design with pool, spa and fire pit

We would definitely recommend Nationwide Pools! Mike designed the most amazing pool/spa and backyard for us. He was always professional and responsive. He answered every question and helped navigate us through the entire process. We had never built a pool before, and have a big yard and really didn't have a design in mind only few ideas. We gave him those ideas of a couple things we'd like to have...a fire pit, pool/spa, swim deck and a water feature. Mike designed the MOST beautiful backyard resort paradise that incorporated all of our ideas including an area to play corn hole! All of the guys that worked on our property were nice and helpful. They were definitely the BEST of the BEST. All of our neighbors have said how great our design looks and how timely it was completed...it wasn't without minor delays or hiccups but nothing compared to the months of delays our neighbors experienced with other builders. We are so glad we took our time and found Nationwide Pools.

The salesman, Chris Pocino, that showed up at my house to give me an estimate came right on time and gave an accurate description of the job and laid out the costs clearly and effectively. He was also very customer friendly and elicited a practiced and professional manner. I was in the process of gathering quotes for my pool re-plaster project and sure enough Chris's quote came in the lowest and so they got the work. I have had some issues with contractors for home projects here in Las Vegas and I am very happy to say that Nationwide Pool, and Chris Pocino, in particular was not one of them. Their teams stuck to the schedule that was laid out initially, their personnel were professional and explained the steps in their process clearly and effectively. And (most importantly) the price at the end of the job matched the quote at the beginning. This was a project that needed to be done out of necessity not out of vanity and therefore I wasn't looking forward to shelling out the money to have it done. That being said I am happy to support local small businesses here in Vegas and I am very pleased with the fact that Nationwide was the company that I went with. I would (in fact I already have) recommend this company to anyone in need of a pool project of any kind. Thanks again Chris, nice work all around.

I'd love to use your company for my monthly pool service if your manager could call Me That would be great

We suffered this same result. I wish we'd found this prior to our job.

Avoid Nationwide Pools. I've held this review for a month, hoping Nationwide would do the right thing and complete the unfinished work, and fix the broken concrete. They haven't, so now we're working with an attorney to be made whole for the contracted work. The salesman that came initially appeared to be quite good. He definitely said all the right things. Then, we signed the contract and he disappeared for quite some time, eventually citing a story about a nightmare family event in Houston, with battles between family members. Pool work started two weeks after he indicated it was scheduled for. When the chippers did show up, they damaged our decking with their grinders in several places. They did good work, but again, they damaged our deck, and damaged the rings that hold our lights in place. Nationwide assured us they'd replace the rings and ensure the lights were working before water went in. The tile setters were amazing. Great guys, good work, and when an error was made, the rep from Nationwide insisted the bad work should be acceptable and "no one would notice." Well, we noticed, and the tilesetter agreed the work was shoddy, and he agreed the work should be torn out, and redone. It ended up beautiful, except it cracked in two places within a week The tile workers even took a few minutes out to teach me how to properly set the concrete for future repairs. The plasterers had schedules all over the place, making it impossible to schedule water delivery. Eventually, the tile setters that weren't responsible for the plaster, called us with the schedule that Nationwide should have provided. Meanwhile, Nationwide's rep came to re-connect the lights that the chippers had taken out of the wall. He did not have a new ring to replace the damaged one, instead, he'd polished and bent the damaged one to what he felt was acceptable. I told him I was disappointed, as both Leslie's and Fresh Pools had a proper replacement ring. He insisted they didn't, and that he'd been "all over town trying to find one." I drove to Fresh, bought a replacement ring ($65.00), and brought it back, along with a fresh gasket. I handed it to him, only to hear him say "that ring won't fit." Except according to Pentair, it is the replacement model for the ring his chipping crew damaged. I think he just wanted us to accept the crappy, damaged ring. Then, he put the pool light back together. He used a weird, small gasket vs the OEM replacement specified by Hayward. I had the OEM replacement that Hayward specifies, but he didn't want to use it. "Those are too hard to install," he says. At the time, we warned him that we'd had problems with that same cheap gasket, two years prior. He assured us it would be fine. It wasn't, but more on that later. The plasterers eventually showed up a day after expected. They did the work, installed the lights in the spa, and left. They did a great job, other than leaving quite a mess in our grass (which killed a large section). The real trouble came when we began asking questions about when to open the pool, chemistry, etc. Then we noticed our filter was leaking. Then, we noticed our lights were not working. In short, a tremendous amount of damage was done to the pumps, lights, filter, and we asked Nationwide to send a manager vs our absentee rep who had disappeared two months previous. Their local manager showed up and was argumentative from the start, telling us "You didn't contract us for the lights, you didn't contract us for the lighting installation, and you didn't contract us to repair your filter (all of which were working properly prior to the start of this project, and throughout the project). The Nationwide rep opened our electrical box and without any conversation, flipped on breakers attached to wiring, not knowing what breaker lead to what circuit. Brilliant. We had removed the switches from the breaker box because we were concerned that the constantly tripping breaker was affecting the smart switches, and didn't want to continually receive notifications from the switches. The manager became confrontational about the switches because "he wanted to see for himself that the lights weren't working." Does one really think we'd complain about working lights? He then began railing that the light bulbs we gave them to install required a special gasket and that's why the lights were leaking (they weren't). He insisted the lights weren't working because "they use special gaskets that we didn't provide (they don't)." He also insisted that because we didn't buy the lights, rings, gaskets from them, they "had no responsibility to fix the lights that they had uninstalled, and then re-installed." Further, it is Nationwide's perspective that they "repaired the bad concrete work at their expense because the client was unhappy." Not quite. Even the tile setter and concrete foreman pointed out that the work was shoddy, and a weak piece of stainless had bent under the weight of the concrete, END OF PART ONE.

After getting several bids from other reputable pool builders we decided to go with Nationwide. The unique shape of our backyard created some design challenges. Although Nationwide wasn't the cheapest bid, they had the best design and ultimately it exceeded their proof of concept even after we had a few change orders.   We couldn't be happier with the design, construction, features, installation, cleanliness, OUTSTANDING finishing crew (tile, stone, and deck), attention to detail, and EXCELLENT customer service exceeded all our expectations!  I would defiantly recommend Nationwide to anyone looking to build the pool of their dreams. We can't say enough how happy we are with our pool.

Thank you Nation Wide Pool for our amazing pool! Great service, informative, clean, and timely. Exactly what we wanted!

Ask the Community - Nationwide Pool Design

Does anyone know if Chris Pocino still works for Nationwide Pool? He assured me he would have a quote the following week, and after numerous messages left, there hasn't been any response. Guess this is the "red flag" one should take before hiring.

Chant it loud and proud so that the folks in the back are reminded of a funny…read moremarketing phrase of yesteryear, where the consumer truly felt like the service received is commensurate with the payment rendered. Nowadays, pay more and get less has become a far more common trope than people realize. Consider it a sign of the times; a blight in the era of post-inflationary prices, where the sticker shock still holds you hostage in your own home, twists your arm and makes you scream uncle until you forfeit over your credit card because your options are as limited as buffet choices in this town, but I digress. This isn't a review about spoiled imitation crab cakes and all you can eat Doritos at The Feast (or was it The Beast?), but instead, it's about three guys doing the lords work and saving Vegas pools one acid wash at a time - spoiler alert - (whispers) they do SO MUCH more than just scrub plaster and blast tiles. More on that in a bit. Payless Pool Service became a family favorite, so-much-so, that we've used their service a handful of times in the past year and we don't plan on using anyone else to come near our pools. Jaded pool guys with a bad tan and every other word uttered being "bruh" is not part of the Payless credo as these classy chaps exemplify the professional attitude you come to expect from a family run business. With Steve running point and Danny and Diego on the wings grinding away calcium buildup on tiles and plaster, you can rest assured that you have experts that are committed to getting the job done right the first time. Let's start with the initial call. Steve promptly answered and said he could stop by the next day to assess the condition of my pool. Upon arrival, Steve took some measurements and asked if we'd like to also sandblast the tiles, as the calcium buildup was enough to start our own cheese farm. He showed us some pictures of the work his crew had done in the past and it didn't take much to convince us that along with the acid wash, the tiles DEFINITELY needed some much-needed TLC (see photos and compare for yourself). As far as pricing goes, I personally thought the quote was more than reasonable for both mine and my parents pool, especially when you consider how much work these guys did in the span of a few days. Not only did Diego and Danny sandblast the tiles back to 2004, they even made the plaster whiter than Erik Estrada's smile. Additionally, I had asked Steve if they could install a new vacuum side port, and without hesitation he said, "not a problem, we'll take care of it." (gasp!) Come again? You'll take care of it and not nickel and dime me!?! How refreshing that there are people out there willing to go above and beyond for a job, which just tickled my heart. It's the small things/gestures which makes a business shine in the eyes of the customer, because it's such a trivial thing for them that it didn't require a separate quote. Same with Diego when he finalized my parents' job. They just purchased a new Zodiac MX6 vacuum and needed help with the initial operation. Without hemming and hawing or hand-wringing or face contorting, he said "SURE!" took the vacuum and its hoses out of the box and showed us step-by-step how to get the most out of it over time. These guys are such a delight to work with that I think the three of them should hold a TED talk for a lot of other contractors and service technicians in the valley on how to exhibit a professional demeanor, while still remaining affable and relatable to your customers. Kudos! Total time was no more than three days from drain to fill on both pools, which is about the amount of time it took you to read this Yelp! review, right? ;) Additionally, Diego returned and balanced the chemicals, took care of cleaning the pool filters and vacuuming up the remaining sand left behind. Payless also covers a whole litany of other services for your pool. We even asked about re-plastering and resurfacing the Kool/Cool Deck at some point in the future, and along with our initial encounter with Payless, they even repair old Jandy Valves. If you're looking for someone that values your time, gives you top notch service and isn't trying to bleed you dry with outrageous pricing that is so prevalent these days, please consider giving Steve and his guys at Payless a call for a quote.
