Strawberry pie season is back! This location remains one of the strongest in this beloved Bay Area chain. Service is always welcoming and efficient, and the freshly prepared food comes out piping hot!

Nation's always hits the spot for me. Their burgers and desserts are so good. I mean the freshness of their produce on each burger. Yum!

2/21/2025. Bacon cheeseburger, gigante (breakfast) burrito, fries, and onion rings.

Sign me up for a burger and pies! Bacon cheeseburger ($12.55): seasoned juicy patty, with crispy bacon, creamy cheese, fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, 4/5 stars. Gigante (breakfast) burrito ($13.15): this was giante indeed with three scambled eggs, hash browns, cheese, and I chose sausage. First off, the salsa comes in a packet, but it was bland unlike the salsa from McDonald's. This burrito had typical flavors, but a bit dry and I'd stick with a burger from here instead, 3.5/5 stars. French Fries ($3.55): were soggy and under seasoned, 2/5 stars. Onion rings ($4.75): crispy to a well-done, but the onions remained intact and were sweet, 3.5/5 stars. Pies ($6.95 each slice): pecan, lemon creme, banana cream, and blueberry cheesecake: first off, their slices are skimpy. Anyway, the best were the pecan and banana cream pies, as they were sweet. The pecan, of course had a crunchy texture, while the banana cream was light but satisfying, 4/5 stars. The other two were good, but inferior and it's based on your flavor preferences, 3.5/5 stars. Another spot that you order up front but when ready, you pick-up your food on the side of the kitchen.

This restaurant is very underrated. Surprisingly, not much people come to this place, but they serve all sorts of food: breakfast, burgers, and pies. It's quite unusual for a burger place to have many options for breakfast. It's like I'm in an American diner tbh. It was quiet when I got here, but someone must have left the cup on the seat. Seems like the staff didn't bother to take care of it, but it's not very trashy here. The burger is very good here, but the fries are soggy though. It would have been better if they make it crispy. I also wanted to try one of their pies. The lemon crème pie is very sweet though. I wanted to have some of it, but the burger and fries made me full. So, I'll have some of the pie later. Perhaps, I should try breakfast here though and also the onion rings too. Onion rings look really good and crispy online and hopefully they don't disappoint me.

I usually just come for the pies since I live in southern California, but my cousin was hyping up the breakfast spot here, so I had to check it out. And she was not lying, the food was bomb, portion was huge, service was really good. Pies were even more delicious. Im only giving this review a 4 Star only because the table and high chair were sticky and dirty. So thay was kind of a turnoff. But all in all food, service, and the vibe was great.

Easy grab and go pies. Priced $18-$25 for a whole pie. Fall flavors are now available.

We received a coupon in the mail and wanted to use it as the burgers were so good last time. We ordered two burgers and fries to go and they were delicious as ever. I'm still so surprised at how tasty the burgers are here. Made it a home run with a filling dinner that was really good and we got it for a deal! Can't beat that!

Nation's had always been one of my favorite places growing up. They've always had an amazing selection of burgers and pies. My go to place was always Orinda Nation's and I wasn't sure if any place was going to beat that. But, I think the Fremont location is my new favorite! The first thing that's always a must is going to the display case to see all the pies. That way you know which ones of those you're walking out with. I always go for the classic burger, it includes a juicy patty, tomato, onions, lettuce, and generous mayo sauce. This burger was delicious and all the good things I remembered about Nation's burgers. I had my all time favorite of the cheesecake. It's a bit smaller than I remember, but I guess expected due to shrinkflation. It was rich and truly delicious! I have to stay one thing that stood out was the staff was super friendly. The cashier who took my order was very personable and it made it an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this location, there's lots of delicious things to try!

They always have good food. You know what you get when you order. Whether breakfast or burger Service is always courteous and quick. Tonight my wife wanted some Boston cream pie so you know what I did? Of course I came to Nations to get some.

With the inflation after COVID, eating out is so expensive even at fast food joints that serve burgers. Two people and the bill came out to $64+ after tip. The food was ok. Similar experience to eating at a Burger King or McDonald's but with a burger that's made to order. It was bigger, which justifies the price. The fries were standard. The milkshake was good...thick! Just the way I like it. The pies were yummy. I can see myself coming here to pick up a whole pie or cheesecake for future potlucks. Casual dining. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Came to pick up a pie for my coworker's birthday, she is not a cake fan and only likes key lime pie. I was excited to find out they now have key lime! The cashier who helped me was soo nice, she helped me decide what slice to pick for myself lol. I picked the banana cream slice and that was a 10/10! The key lime pie though was super rich and tarty, I would give it a 6/10 was just too tart for me. Love all the pie options and the prices are good, only $24 for a whole fresh baked pie!

Ask the Community - Nation's

Are you open on Thanksgiving? Should I order pie ahead of time for Thanksgiving?

Yes we are open Thanksgiving day. Feel free to stop by. We should have most types of pies available even in the afternoon and evening. If you want to make sure we have your specific pie ready (and to skip the line to pay), you can pre-order online…

When will they resume accepting online orders?

I checked the online order system and it looks like it is working now. We accept online orders from 6:30am to 11:45pm. If you tried before 6:30am it might not have let you because it doesn't know that we are open. The system also automatically…

Did the milk shake recipe change?

The milkshake recipe and ingredients remain the same. If you received one that didn't seem right, please contact us at https://www.nationsrestaurants.com/contact-us/ so we can look into this more.

Does this restaurant offer table service?

No...as in everything is self-serve here and they don't come to your table to ask you if you need anything except to clean up your table when you're done eating.

Do they usually have the sugar free apple pie available?

Nation's Giant Hamburgers has a "No Sugar Added Apple" pie available. The pie is a double crusted pie filled with granny smith apples. No refined sugar is used to sweeten the filling, but we do use apple juice. So, the pie is not "sugar free".

I've been trying to call since yesterday to reserve pies for Thanksgiving and I keep getting a busy signal. Did they change or disconnect their phone number?

They might have. They did move awhile back. And YES! They answer. (510) 797-3211

Are they open on Thanksgiving?

Indeed they are! Pies and all!

Will the store located in Fremont open on Christmas Day?

Yes, they will be open from 6:00 AM to 11:00PM hope that helps.

Are they open Mother's Day?

I am pretty sure they open

Also, got a smash burger, two orders of crinkle cut fries, and onion rings. The fries were disappointing. It was ok crispy. I was hoping they were hot and super crispy. But the onion rings were so crispy and good. The batter wasn't the doughy kind either so it was nice to bite thru. The smash burger was delicious. I think a double would have been too much. The Seoul burger was also meh. I love Cole slaw and cabbage in my burger and well it didn't deliver. The chicken was drenched in a spicy honey sauce but kept its crunchy texture. Itll be a while before I go back after seeing ants on the walls and disappointment on the fries.

The burger was fresh and made with high-quality ingredients. Honestly, I liked it even more than Billy Roy's smash burger, and they're amazing. The chicken fries were miles better than Burger King's, came in a generous portion, and tasted freshly made--definitely worth the price. Once you enter, you'll see some booths off to the side, a few bar stools and you can either order at the giant screen by the door or with the cashier. The menu is pretty straightforward. I opted for the single, my husband opted for the double, and we got some cajun fries to share. The place itself isn't big and it can be tough waiting for a table to open up if you come during busy hours, but we got lucky enough to snag a table. I will say, the staff was friendly. The food did take a while and I assume it's due to a mixture of online orders and in person orders so business is booming at least. Overall, I think the food was fine. I like the sauce they use in their burgers, but the cajun fries fell for me (got soggy in the cup) and the prices are kind of steep.

The cornmeal breading on the fish was super crispy even though I ate the sandwich 30 minutes after it had been prepared. The cheeseburger was solid, as good as one I would have gotten from In-N-Out, but just at a higher price point. No notes. The fries were the only item that I thought could've been improved. The fries here were on the thicker side, and ended up being quite soggy when I bit in to them. I'm sure a few minutes in an air fryer would crisp them right back up, but the fries also needed to be seasoned with a bit more salt as well. Overall, solid burger spot in Fremont.

Juicy, freshly fried wings -- but four pieces would be the sweet spot…read more I spent way too long deciding between the chicken sandwich and the wings, and eventually ordered the six-piece crispy wings with an extra tangy garlic sauce. The wings were larger than I expected. They had a craggy, heavily textured coating that was very crispy when fresh. The breading was on the thicker side, but the chicken underneath was genuinely juicy. When I pulled one apart, the juices actually ran onto the toast underneath. They were also extremely hot right out of the fryer, so give them a couple of minutes before biting in. The wings themselves were not spicy. They had a fairly straightforward savory seasoning and were flavorful enough to eat without sauce, which is important because this was not a case of sauce rescuing dry or bland chicken. The yellow tangy garlic sauce, however, was much hotter than I expected. At first I thought the heat was coming from the wings, but it was definitely the sauce. It had a strong combination of acidity, garlic, and spice, and a little went a long way. The white sauce was milder and easier to use throughout the meal. The wings came with one slice of toast cut in half. It seemed like an odd pairing at first, but it made sense once the chicken juices started dripping onto it. The toast absorbed the juices and also helped balance the richness and heat. The six-piece order was $13.99. That is not especially cheap, but the wings were large, freshly fried, and very juicy, so the portion felt fair. My only issue is that fried chicken this rich becomes repetitive after a while. The first two pieces were excellent, the third and fourth were satisfying, and by the fifth I was starting to feel the grease and heavy coating. Overall, Chicken G's does the fundamentals well: crispy exterior, juicy chicken, and wings that taste good even without sauce. I would come back, but four wings would probably be the ideal portion for me next time.

Quick update. We…read morewere again in need of lunch post Trader Joe's errand run. So when the feeling hits for Chicken G's you meet it. I think whenever we call in the order, we reach some kind of centralized help desk and they put in the order for the right location. This last time we got The Big G and 6 piece chicken crispy wings. From what I recall, one thing that wasn't to my liking was that it was a bit too spicy for me. I'm unsure if it's in the sauce or the seasoning in the batter. Maybe it was just this time round. But it was definitely crispy, juicy, and lots of flavor in addition to the heat of spice. It does take a bit of time to make so you may want to call in to order and pick up if you're in a rush and don't want to wait. I know we always end up waiting a little bit each time we go and this also depends on how busy they are. We're not always in the mood for a spicier chicken sandwich, but it's nice to have once in a while and this one is not a bad one to choose!
