This is a bit of a difficult of a review to write because the work these folks did was phenomenal! They took our super sun-damaged front door and made it even more beautiful than it was when we moved in. The reason I docked 2 stars is to due to scheduling issues. We were told that we would have someone repair our door starting at 1PM for a few hours. We both blocked our schedule to meet that need. However, we get a knock on our door at 8AM. We told them we were not expecting them for hours and the guy seemed stumped and confused. Needless to say, we made it work. Well, a crack the door had re-opened (no big, things happen and they offered to fix for free) and told us they would arrive between 10:30 and 11AM. Again, we blocked our schedules to receive them. 11:15AM gets here and no phone call, no text, no "Sorry were running late". My husband finally called and they said they would have to reschedule. Two instances of messing up scheduling without notifying the client is unprofessional and difficult, especially for two people with busy schedules and meetings to attend for work. read more

We had 2 large metal doors refinished. Within a few months the paint would easily scratch and peel. Gerry came by once to fix the issue. It was not resolved - the paint continues to peel. Another painter indicated that Latex paint was used and it was not the correct paint for an outdoor metal door. Gerry did offer to come fix it - but after 2 times we had no confidence in his work. read more

Brian, from Austin Door Refinishing, just re-installed our oak front door having spent half a day refinishing it. After 18-years I can hardly remember what the door looked like when new, only that it was beautiful in the beginning. The door is now more so. The staff that showed up were on time and wore face masks when talking with me. They were very polite and professional, and explained exactly what they were going to do and how long it would take. After taking my door off, they installed a tarp to keep the warm air in and the cold air and dust out. After they finished staining and refinishing my front door, it looked like new! It was poorly sun and weather damaged, but they restored it back to its original look. Afterwards, they cleaned up the work area and restored it as it was before. Our front door was in pretty bad shape from the hale storms in the spring. We seriously thought an expensive new door was in our future especially since the door has seen other storms and is about 15 years old. We had also tried to do some refinishing on our own. :( Austin Door Refinishing came to our rescue. They sanded the door down, removing all the divots from the storms and the "stain" we had applied. They matched our wood door to our distressed wood floors inside. Even though our door is oak and our floors are birch the staining they did blends both so there is a beautiful compliment to each wood. They were also very timely and finished the complete job in about 4 hours as they said they would. I had no clean up whatsoever and the finishers were friendly, polite and very easy to work with.
