Repainted metal door and frame. Looks like new and reinstalled perfectly!

Sturdy doors did an amazing job again! I was really happy with their work restaining my wood front door so I used them again. I requested a quote to refinish my metal exterior door that had some rust on it. The quote was reasonable and Jesse came out and did the work promptly. My door looks brand new! I really appreciate that Jesse also covered the doorway with plastic so my A/C wasn't affected while the work was being done. Jesse also gave me some good advice about keeping rust off it in the future which I greatly appreciated. I'll definitely be using Sturdy Doors again for my door needs.

Rob and team did a great job! They came in, explained everything and got to work. Finished in a few hours and final product looked beautiful!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!. I took the bait in a mailer and scheduled them to refinish my double entry way doors. Pictures were sent and instructions given to match the inside of the doors and finish with a high gloss appearance. They took the job without mentioning that they did not think they could accurately match the color on the inside of the door. Additionally, they did not give my wife the opportunity to pick which color she thought was best (as indicated on their website) but was only asked if the color the technician chose would work. What was she supposed to say? In the end, the technician rushed the job to complete all sanding prep, staining, and final weather protection on 2 doors in 2.5 hours. This is not possible. Needed 100 grit, 150 grit, then 220 grit to prep. Then each coat of stain/urethane should have taken an hour each to dry but somehow this guy got it all done in 2.5 hours. In the end, my doors are ruined orange, the beautiful wood character is muted like it was painted and I either have to redo/fix it myself or find another vendor. During a lengthy discussion with them about the matter, at not time have they apologized that we are unhappy nor have they suggested any options for fixing it. This is 100% unacceptable. This work was done in San Antonio TX

Their service is second to none folks. I mean seriously- the ease in setting up the appointment, the carpenter arriving earlier than expected, his being very professional in explaining all facets of the job and the finish product: we are extremely satisfied! He made us aware of the accessories on the door and how he removed, cleaned up and reapplied them was reassuring in case I decided to take on this project years down the road (not!). You can't beat the cost of this type of job at all - what was quoted is exactly what was charged. I recommend them highly as we barely heard from the 2 other firms we reached out to for service - Sturdy Doors responded quickly (same hour I reached out to them on a Saturday). Can't even beat this type of service which almost seems extinct nowadays.

Jesse refinished and stained our front door and repainted our back door, installed new hardware and weatherstripping for a very reasonable price. He did an excellent job. He revived our front door that hadn't been refinished in 28 years. Hire them!

I had my front double doors stained by Sturdy doors specialist, named Rob. He sounded very knowledgeable, talked quiet a bit and seemed like he knew what he was doing. About 7 months later on the exterior side of the door, I began noticing some mild chipping of the stain. Gradually over just 1 year, the entire exterior of the doors appeared cracked and chipped. I called the company and was told that there is nothing they can do since it's been a year. And I would have to make another full payment in order for them to fix this mess. I thought it was really unfair and an unprofessional of them. I called another company to restrain the doors. Come to find out, Rob didn't even sand down the original laqure before staining them. How can a so-called specialist stain the door on top of an old laqure rather than sanding it down first and then placing the stain on freshly sanded wood? Very poor service, lousy company, they will lie to you to get your business. Would not recommend this company to anyone!!!

It's exactly like having a new door! Quick response in scheduling an appointment. On time with Jesse Shaffer, who refinished my front door. Cast iron grill looks amazing too. Efficient, attention to detail, on task for 3 hours - this was Jesse. Aftercare recommendations for my door. I am thoroughly pleased with the pricing and Jesse's fantastic hard work.

Wood is very dry due to natural elements.

I love my new, refinished door! The guys who came out here worked inside my garage because it was a cloudy day. When I checked on them, I couldn't believe my eyes, the wood on the door was so smooth and light (compared to dry and aged). The color that I choose was really nice too. They also installed a new set of doorhandles that I purchased from Lowe's. These guys saved me a couple of hundreds of dollars. I will used them again for my garage door in a couple of months. I was very, very impressed with the finished product and highly recommend them.

    Before refinishing faded and ugly.

I found Sturdy Doors via an add in our community magazine. I looked them up on Yelp and saw lots of great reviews so scheduled an appointment. We had a bunch of back-n-forth with the schedule because they are short-handed, but they notified me early and checked if it was alright before changing. The refinisher and his helper arrived at 9:30am and were finished around 11:30am. They showed us their work early on and offered to leave the stain lighter or go deeper with a clearcoat protection. We opted for the latter and are super happy with the results. They were very friendly and cleaned up everything perfectly. I recommend them if you need to add some life to your door for a very reasonable price. I'll be happy if it lasts 2-3 years; with the clearcoat, they will come back within 2 years for any touchups needed for free. What an improvement in our door and our entry way looks lovely again.

Great job, Tyler and Bryan!! I had tried so hard to do it myself and made such a mess. It took them 5 hours getting through 30 years of sun-baked layers polyurethane to the bare wood, then matching the color perfectly and VOILA!! Thanks, guys. I'll definitely recommend you to others.

I sent pictures and received a quote online. My door was very sun damaged and dry and thought beyond repair. They showed up on time, completed the work, which took most of the day for my size door, and did a wonderful job. We are amazed how much better it looks.

I recently had 21st Century repaint the exterior of my house. You can find that review here as…read morewell. I'm writing a new one because this is a different project. After they finished painting my house, a few weeks later after heavy rains I noticed a stain on the ceiling of a guest bedroom. I knew immediately it was the long nagging problem of the "dead valley" along my roof. The house was designed and built according to the architect's drawings to have the roof of the first floor bedroom run into the siding of the house. It was a short "run" and rainfall should go quickly into the gutters. But, this was built under a big, old oak tree and for many years, I've had leaves and twigs built up, damming up the water. If I can remember it, I have to get up on a ladder with a rake and rake the leaves away from where the shingles meet the siding. After one major hailstorm, I had the roof replaced and when they replacing it, I asked them to build something to reduce the leave/branch damming. They did build it, but apparently not big enough. It lasted probably 14-15 years until this recent Spring. Since I had a good experience with 21st Century, I called them out to give me a bid on repairing what was probably rotted trim and exposed flashing and other rot elsewhere. And while they were at it, I asked them to build me a better diverter away from the siding. They came out and took care of it in a day. The guy was there from 8:30 to 5:00, taking a break for lunch, but got it done. Since they were also the painters, they asked me for the leftover paint they left for me (for touch-up) that came in handy as they had to replace the rotten trim and as it turned out a section of the roof decking. Attached are the pictures they took for the bid and then afterwards when they were complete. They were detailed enough to ask me first, "hey, this diversion we're putting in is a lighter grey then your shingles. Are you okay with that? We can go back and get darker materials". I said that was fine. No one can see that part of the roof and so it was trivial to me. The only negative thing from the painting and the roofing experience is so minor it's not worth taking away a star is that there will be a gap between when you sign and return the contract and they contact you about scheduling the actual work. In both cases, I had to drop them a line to remind them I was in the queue. Being a service that can't work when it's raining, I can understand that they have days where scheduled work is delayed and that causes a snowball effect of delays.

Based upon information…read moregathered via informal conversations with friends and colleagues, we were expecting that a thorough, professional exterior paint job for our 2600 square feet home (plus 2 car garage) would likely yield a hefty price tag. So, we developed an informal prospectus based on this assumption. Sometime later, we happened upon a poster advertising That 1 Painter, a licensed and bonded enterprise based in the Treasure Valley. Their reviews were strongly favorable and more so noteworthy was that T1P had been voted Best of Idaho twice (among many other plaudits)! So, when we were ready we contacted them with the intention that they would provide us with our first estimate. We were visited by Ruth Brinton, a professional house painter and owner of T1P. She presented well with confidence and comprehension. She looked at many things that we would have likely overlooked. She made many observations and shared her thoughts with us. She also looked at the property and made recommendations regarding colors to not only enhance the house, but also to optimize the use of colors that would give balance and compliment to the property on the whole. The next day, we received the detailed estimate for the job. We were stunned to learn that T1P would do the job for well below our most auspicious estimates! All the information we had gathered convinced us that we did not have need to solicit another estimate. Within a month's time (from initial contact) our house was very nicely and professionally cleaned, prepped and painted. The crew performing the work were polite, friendly and professional. Clearly, the team at T1P are committed to customer service and satisfaction. We offer a solid 5-star review and our full endorsement.

Their attention to detail was incredible, and it gave us total peace of mind. They even removed the shutters to paint them. The work was all completed very professionally, and they took no shortcuts. What impressed us most was their consistency: always on time, quiet, efficient, and respectful of our property. George personally checked the work every day, which really showed how much pride he takes in his business. Even after we asked for a few extra repairs while the work was in progress, the price stayed exactly as quoted, and it was already the best bid we received.
