Poor communication in the initial phone call that set our timeline back 10 days, when I had to reach out, there was no attempt to remedy.

Just to be clear - the pictures showed up in reverse order. The door with the smooth rich dark finish is the After picture. The faded, cracked mottled picture is the Before. I recently had my wooden front door and courtyard gate re-finished by ANOTHER COMPANY. Front door was done well; however, the gate is an absolute disaster (review to come soon). My wooden-faced garage doors were up for a face-lift as well, and there was no way I was going to use the OTHER company...enter Dr. Door! Dr. Door, a.k.a. Clay, responded to my estimate request at warp speed. His prices are significantly less than other bids I have received. And, despite all of the ATX rain and his super busy schedule, he managed to fit me into the timeline I requested. As can be seen by other reviews, Clay does STELLAR work on front doors...and YES, garage doors as well. And he only uses the BEST products on the market. If a contractor wants you to buy stain from one of the "big" stores (e.g., HD or L's), I would suggest walking away from him or her. He removed the door hardware (including electronic keyless lock), pulled our 8' glass filled entry door off the hinges, stripped it, stained it, and sealed it in just a few hours. I called Clay as he was referred to me by The Front Door Company. I had bought a font door from them which was unfinished, and I needed to get it stained. Clay put us on the schedule (2 weeks out) and the day finally came for him to do the job and it rained. He then rescheduled us another 10 days out and again the day came for him to do it and it rained. Clay then pawned is off on someone else who flaked on us twice both times canceling on us last minute. I reached back out to Clay shortly thereafter hoping he would make things right and help us out, but instead he once again tried to pawn us off on someone else. Unbelievable!!!! I inevitably ended up staining the door myself because I got fed up with looking at it sitting in my garage. Thanks Clay. Can't recommend Clay "aka Dr. Door" enough. He was super responsive, showed up and finished when he said he would, and did a great job for the lowest price than any quote I received. He installed a new digital lock w/out any additional charge, plus he made some minor adjustments to the door and jam to make it close better. When finished, he asked if we had any other door issues he could look at while here. My wife noted that one of our internal bedroom doors doesn't latch shut anymore. He checked it out, saw immediately the issue and spent about 10 minutes fixing it....then didn't charge anything extra (even though I paid a little extra anyway for the effort).
