The drive-thru is still there. The indoor arcade with the pinball machines and other pastimes are long gone. Don't really miss it. There's nostalgic photos on the walls. Yum, yum and more YUMMMM. My sister works at the hospital nearby, and said I have to visit this location. I remember my summer nights growing up in Brooklyn, visiting The famous Nathan's Hotdogs at Coney Island. It was such a pleasure to be back, and visit at a different location. I ordered two hotdogs for my husband and I, with cheese fries and onion rings. It was DELICIOUS, and fresh . The manager even gave us free drinks (he's the absolute best). The total was $25 for all the food. They also DO NOT ACCEPT TIP, because of this I will visit more often and splurge a bit lol. read more

If I could give Nathan's more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Every visit just keeps getting better! I usually go for their chicken tenders, which are ridiculously amazing--so fresh, juicy, steaming hot, and packed with flavor! Their fries are great too, and I finally tried their 5-cent hot dog which cost this much only on Thursdays. While Nathan's is known for their iconic hot dogs, their burgers, sandwiches, and chicken are the hidden gems of the menu for me. The service here is also top-notch. There's a manager who walks around checking in on customers and it shows how much they care. They deserve so much respect for how they run the place! Nathan's is quickly becoming one of my go-to spots. The location on Central Park Ave is super convenient, and I'd recommend everyone to branch out and try their less popular items. Found myself on Central Ave the other day and couldn't resist. I grew up on the Nathan's on Central Ave..if your old like me, you remember the big iconic Nathan's with the arcade ( I love that it's pic is still on their place mat along with the other iconic locations like the obvious Conny Island ) Anyway, yes, that location is gone..but this smaller Nathan's did not replace it, it is the same one...it downsized and moved a few feet North..but this is the Original Yonkers Central Ave Nathan's..The food is spot on..and they are very nice there. I've been going to this Nathan's since I was a child. It was such an unforgettable experience and now as an adult coming back the customer service in this place is amazing. Absolutely terrible. Only person in the drive thru when I arrived. Placed order and was told to pull up in front of store. As I was paying 2 more cars pulled up behind me. I pulled up front as instructed. It took them 20 min to bring my order out and I watch 6 cars place orders and leave and no one entered the store through the front. So whyyyyyy did it take so long. I ordered a pound of tenders, small fry, small cheese fry, and a small onion rings. Inside how annoyed I was, after all that wait, and the food was terrible. The tenders and onion rings were so greasy I had to put the tenders on paper when I got home and the onion rings were not edible. Also the onion rings were all clumped together and just gross. Fries needed salt. Had absolutely none on them. And the cheese fries barely had any cheese, just basically in one spot. Also note, they don't serve corn did any longer. Stopped by Nathan's for dinner the other night and it was just OK for me. We ordered two chili cheese dogs, a large fry to split, and the 10 piece corn dog nuggets and took it home. It was just fine for me. I've had Nathan's plenty of times and this time just didn't live up to expectations. The fries seemed to be cooked in old oil and was probably my least favorite part. So many things on the menu looked good and the staff was so nice though so I'd give it another shot and eat at the restaurant next time. read more

The food is as good as any other Nathan's location. The difference is the service. I am very impressed with the service. The manager is friendly and acknowledges me every time I'm there. Mya, who takes my order is the best, very friendly and great personality. You don't usually get that atmosphere in a fast food restaurant. This definitely wasn't the best experience. It was a very long wait at the drive-thru and then when me and my family finally got our food. It wasn't good at all. It was all cold and the fries with all the meals weren't the fries Nathan's had always previously carried at this location and they tasted old. The chicken sandwich was chewy and not good. The cheesesteak bread was old and not crispy and the steak was chewy and it was very sweet tasting. The Manhattan burger was dry and the bread was not edible. They also no longer carry fish which was something we loved at this location. We have been to this location several times and this was one of the worst experiences. read more

Getting to the drive-thru at this location is a mess. When I finally got to order, the woman on the other end was friendly and patient. I've been to Nathan's maybe twice in 5 years. I ordered onion rings, a chili cheese dog, and 2 plain hot dogs which are on special for 5 cents apiece. I was asked to pull my car around front and my order would be brought to me. A full 10 minutes later, I finally get my meal! Luckily, I checked the bag and rescued the onion rings that were getting soggy, closed up in a styrofoam box. I ate those on the way home! They were crunchy with a hint of heat and the small order was very generous. At home, I uncover my hot dogs. I love hot dogs. These, not so much. The 5 cent plain dogs are priced right. I have troves of childhood memories making the short walk to Nathan's to escape the soul crushing boredom of visiting my grandmother in Yonkers and her afternoon talk show obsessions orbiting around Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin and the always obsequious Dinah Shore. Those were the antediluvian days of television when you watched what the adults watched, no questions asked. When I asked my mother why I had to endure my grandmother's elderly purgatory, she would just say "if I have to put up with her, you do too." But more often than not we found time to run away to the salvation of Nathan's glass enclosed never never land and an endless celebration of anything that could be boiled, grilled or fried. Foot long dogs slathered in mustard and onion, french fries so crispy they crunched as you scarfed them down. I even had my first taste of the mighty Knish and it's golden brown, spicy potato goodness - not to mention the arcade in the back that eagerly sucked down my quarters. All in life was friggin beautiful. Fast forward too many decades and the glow of Nathan's has slowly receded against the backdrop of their always mawkish professional eating contests on Coney Island and my two day stint in high school working at their long closed location in Rockland County, New York - where you could satisfy your fantasy as an Olympic speed skater with the inch deep coating of grease on the kitchen floor. I couldn't quit fast enough, or as I remember it, I just slid out the back and never returned. But I'll still bestow Nathan's with five stars for their critical role in letting me escape all those afternoons with Mike Douglas and special guest host Dick Cavett. Just great times. read more

So I walk to Nathan's on Coney Island Boardwalk, stand in line for 20 minutes to order a hot dog, get my name called, get my box, open it.... and see this anemic brown thing on a bun. I was craving hotdogs for some strange reason, So while I was waiting for my daughter, I stopped this Nathan's. It was just like I was back at Coney Island and coming off the boardwalk after a day on the beach. The food was fresh, piping hot and full of flavor. Extremely clean and the entire staff was warm and friendly. It's only hotdogs, but it's a Nathan's hotdog, the only thing missing was my ticket for the cyclone and F train pulling into the station. Stopped in as I was surprised to see an actual Nathan's store front still operating outside of Coney Island. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how clean this place was vs a lot of fast food joints in the city. The menu was more substantial than your average hot dog and fries and once I saw they used Pat LeFrieda beef that their cheesesteak would be delicious... and it was! Staff was very friendly and they bring the food to your table which I thought was a nice touch. One suggestion is that they should have the kids menu on display as I didn't see one for my toddler so ordered her an adult sized portion. Anyways, will definitely return! read more

Went in with the family to grab some lunch. Girl at counter tried to screw me out of a Drink as well, as pickles (she tried charging me $0.75 as chili to put them on the side). I said, that the burger I ordered already comes with lettuce tomato and pickles; so why are you charging me for the pickles? Then, When I asked for my other drink, she checked the receipt and, with an attitude, gave me my cup. Fast forward to trying to get straws and plates for the sauerkraut. I asked another employee and she didn't even bother to look at me, just said "No" with an attitude and kept moving. I'd avoid going here at all costs. It's not all the attitude it's the reverse racism that takes place. Yes I'm a lighter skinned person but I've never been racist or prejudiced to anyone. The manager, Vincent was amazing; the whole crew that's working here, amazing. They were patient waiting for us to order our meal. I gave it a two stars because the place looks nice l, which can draw you in but do not be fooled by this place. Ordered a hot dog meal and asked for sautéed onions on it. The hot dog was old a stale you can tell it's been sitting nowhere near fresh. The sautéed onions even worse inedible I had to throw out the onions. It's clear that the people working there don't care what they serve you. The fries were kinda raw and greasy. They barely have any sodas available. I took a look at the other toppings which were on a table near the soda machine, super nasty looking. All these things are unacceptable for any business serving the public. read more

A haiku for Nathan's: Your dogs are still good Missing the old days of fun Fries without arcades As a YO native from birth, I'll forever miss the old Nathan's and all the memories it held. I think I speak for everyone who remembers what this place used to be: a destination of great eats and lots of fun. Nathan's had a lot of our "firsts": first kiddie birthday party, first arcade, first photo booth picture, first time playing the classics like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, first (group) date, etc. We all adored it. I was lucky enough to live less than a mile away from Nathan's, so I was there so often, I remember every nook and cranny. I wish with all my heart that Nathan's was granted landmark status, but it wasn't meant to be. :( Now its heart and soul has given way to solely the food. Thankfully, it tastes the same. The fries, dogs (still have that snap!), corn dog nuggets and lemonade are all still boss. Their burgers are great too - they taste exactly like the ones you get from a BBQ in your favorite neighbor's backyard. The staff is super friendly too, but because of the ghosts of days gone by, I find it very hard to eat in without becoming very melancholy. The worst Philly Cheese Steak I've ever got. The meat was super dry, very little cheese and the bread was stale. For $13.95 I was screwed.

Ordered a order to pick up. It wasn't ready and nobody could even find the ticket. They prepared my order. Luckily I checked before I left. My hot dogs had nothing on them so even though I pre ordered to pick up I still had to go in and prepare my condiments as if I just came in and stood on line. I didn't realize until I got home, my wings had no blue cheese and The Philly cheesesteak literally looked like it was completely dipped in oil and the bread was obviously previously burnt but so soggy.
