She is so skilled at what she does. I have gone to her for lashes and eyebrow microblading and shading. Let me just say that I don't want to EVER go to anyone else for microblading!!! Cam is the best, hands down! I went to someone else a few years ago, and then came to Cam to fix it. I come back to her every year for a touch up, and I have recommended all of my friends to her, and they love her. She does such an amazing job, and I cannot recommend her highly enough! I just had an appointment at her salon today, and someone left after getting a permanent eyeliner service who had driven in from Delaware just so that Cam could do the service. That's how good she is! First of all, this place is an experience and not an appointment. If you were lucky enough to visit during the Christmas holiday, you would feel like you had just entered a winter wonderland. The ambience is so amazing, I just want to hang out here all day and drink hot chocolate. The customer service is impeccable. Since this place runs by appointment only, you don't have to worry about booking an appointment and waiting an hour because your time is valued here. Next, I want to talk about my nails. Um, have you ever met David at The Secret Jewel??? That is the name of the salon that Cam Tu and David run that is an extension of Cam Tu Beauty but also a nail salon. Like it's name, this jewel seems to be a secret, and I almost want to keep it that way because I don't want to end up on a waiting list when people find out how amazing this place is!!! David has years of experience, and it shows! His attention to detail is unparalleled, and my nails have never looked better. He does dip nails only. Some of you might be thinking, wait, what? I need acrylic. I promise you don't. I thought the same thing, and am now a true believer in dip nails. I will show you photos of my "birthday" nails and you will know what I mean. "Just dip" does not mean you can't have cool designs or tips. It is just an alternative to acrylic that is healthier for your nails. Trust me. I won't steer you wrong. David is a true artist and approaches your nails like a canvas. I happen to have lots of pictures of what I want my nails to look like, but lack the creativity to design them myself. No worries. David is literally a "nail artist." I gave him a few colors and told him to do what he does...I trusted him, and he delivered in a big way. David is so focused on perfection and detail, I felt like I was a celebrity client! This is a long review to basically say that Cam Tu Beauty/The Hidden Jewel is THE best kept secret around. My first lashes appointment was with Fernanda and they looked great, but they all fell out when I went on vacation and my face was assaulted by the wind and salt water of the Pacific - I also didn't know you have to wash them to prevent oily buildup, so yeah. I came back two weeks later with literally no extensions left and had to pay for a full set all over again rather than a touch-up. I do wish they had told me about needing to wash them, because I really wasn't provided with the full aftercare instructions the first time I got them. But, now I know. They sell a special foam wash and gentle applicator for the soap here, which I recommend purchasing. My second session was with Viktoriia, who is absolutely incredible. I ended up with two uneven eyebrows and broke out all along my eyebrows. I also got a lash lift while I was there which was done poorly and carelessly. The lashes were not curled properly and keep sticking together. For the past week I have had swollen eyelids and crust on my eyes. This place does not practice good hygiene or cleanliness and I would never go back. I look forward to my eyebrows and lashes growing back as soon as possible. I'm glad I have good healthcare so that I could get my eye infection treated from this terrible lash lift.

(If you're not familiar with a salon plaza, it's when one commercial building is divided into dozens of tiny, independently operated salons -- think: separate little salons for nails, hair, brows, etc. -- all in one building.) Now I'm not a very hairy person, but my brows needed a quick shaping and touch-up. The threader (whose name I didn't get) was very efficient and thorough and gentle. So $12 plus tip later, my brows look great! A few tips for first-timers: call ahead first and make an appointment. Even though walk-ins are welcome, the shop is not always open for the full run of its advertised hours. So you should call ahead and make sure someone will be there before just assuming you can pop in and get your brows (or other body parts) threaded. Also, street parking is hard to find, so go ahead and park in the attached parking garage. The shop will validate your parking, so that will be free.
