I had an amazing experience with Nate! Initial contact: I originally reached out to him via email to get a quote, and I was astonished at his affordable rates. If I remember correctly, he actually had a quote to me within a day after I sent an email. Appointment scheduling: Although I didn't schedule an appointment with him immediately after receiving a quote, I did reach out to him via phone after my parts arrived from TireRack.com. Nate answered promptly, and I explained that he had sent me a quote earlier, for which he was able to find quickly while on the phone. He said he'd be able to come out within a day, and I was in no hurry so I left it up to him. I spoke with him the following day, and he stated he could come out today. He contacted me again when he was on his way to my house stating he would be here soon. The actual work: He arrived promptly and he completed the work in just less than two hours! After he was done, he took the time to explain the brake pad manufacturer's break-in instructions which was great as I would have completely forgot. Overall experience: Arizona desert sun and heat in the summer is no match for his work and his professionalism. 10/10 recommend going through him over any dealership (who wanted $2000) or independent shop (I received quotes of $800+ from various shops in the area). If I'm in a position where I need to replace the brakes on this car while I'm still living in this area, I will 100% contact him again. Thanks Nate! read more

Nate was on time and did great work. Very honest. Had him inspect our other car and see if it needed new pads/rotors. I guarantee and brake shop would've said absolutely and changed all of them. He measured everything and said the car/brakes still has at least a year of life on them. Highly recommend. read more

Nate was great. Nice guy, easy to work with, quote matched work performed. On time. Appears the work quality and parts quality were good. Only ding is he didn't clean off the new brake disks before installing which will impact the life of the pads. I recommend asking him to do that if he does your brakes for you. read more

Nate was kind enough to make time and meet me just down the street for a quick & free inspection, he was quick to responded, seeing me the same day I reached out! He told me my brakes looked good and did not need to be replaced. He even drove my car around to try and help me diagnose the problem, and recommended places to go to help solve the problem. Fast forward a few months after Nate's first visit we decided to change the front & back breaks. Nate made a weekend house call - super convenient! We thought it would take a a couple of hours, but an unanticipated exploded battery had to be replaced. Not sure how long we had been driving around like this, but it was perfect timing when Nate started the brake replacement job. Nate promptly let us know about the battery and set off to buy a new battery, installed the battery and finished changing the breaks all while we waited in the comfort of our home! We never felt that Nate was in a rush even though the job took longer than than expected because of the battery. He quickly addressed the issue with a positive and friendly demeanor. 100 stars is not enough to describe how grateful and appreciative we are with Nate's work and attention to detail. We would have been stuck on the road had Nate not replaced the battery. read more

Nate saved me $950 on a replaced radiator and $800 on the bushings! I appreciate Nate's expertise and integrity. Last month our daughter was stranded across town with an alternator failure, and Nate was available immediately to make the repair at her location for a very reasonable price! This month we were almost robbed $1750 by an auto service center claiming we needed repairs. Nate did a thorough inspection the same day and we needed nothing. I would always recommend Nate in any situation you find yourself in. He will help, he is honest, and I'm thankful for his expertise! read more

Nate was very professional, on time, and communicated well with me. He was great and even though the parts shop gave him the wrong rotor size, he was able to get the right parts and finish the job on time. I was shocked about the fact he came to my house, and was super reasonably priced. read more

Been using Nate's Brakes for the last couple years. Recently realized they can do a lot more than just oil changes and breaks. Can't beat the price, and also the relationship of having people I trust will not rip me off. I had a friend who went to the dealer and got a quote then ran it by Nate's Brakes and saved over 60% by using Nate's Brakes for the same auto service. I appreciate Nate's values of doing the job correct the first time, and would recommend Nate's Breaks to my friends as well as my grandmother because I know they will take care of anyone. Nate saved me $20,000!! Let me explain. While returning home from an extended road trip, my wife and I noticed our 2013 Honda CRV was whining and responding poorly during acceleration. Further investigation on arriving home revealed that the oil dipstick was totally dry. Nate came highly recommended by our usual mechanic whom we trust implicitly. I gave Nate a call, and he was willing to come to our home the next morning, and he changed the oil right at our home! I am quite certain that had the oil not been changed very expeditiously at that point our engine would have been destroyed. Very thankful to Nate for clearing his schedule for us. It's great to be able to speak with a knowledgeable mechanic directly. Appreciate his customer care, integrity, and knowledge. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! read more

I unfortunately ran my brakes to the point where they were grinding, and I needed to get them fixed ASAP. I wasn't comfortable driving my car anywhere due to the noises the brakes were making. I contacted Nate and told him my situation. He was able to come to my house that same evening to fix my brakes. Not only was he professional and courteous, he was efficient with getting my brakes repaired, and extremely knowledgeable on the parts that needed fixing and made my brakes as good as new. He answered all of my questions, and I never felt as if he was trying to upsell me like I do when I go to other mechanics or shops. He is honest, and his priority was making sure my car was safe to drive, not to squeeze money from me. I was quoted by other repair shops $200-$300 more than what Nate charges for doing the same service, without having to leave my house! I cannot recommend Nate enough, and I will 100% be using him again for my brakes and oil changes! read more

I had an alternator on a 300M that needed to be replaced. I had started the job myself but was stopped once i hit the point where I thought there was still a single bolt holding the alternator on. All the hood trim, belt tensioner, and everything else was off and out of the way. Nate arrived on time, but as soon as he started he began saying the job would take longer than 30 minutes. It felt as if he was already trying to "pad" the job He walked up to the Alternator and used pry bar against it gave it a little force and the alternator was out. It had a single pin I didn't know about. I offered to give him $20 for his time at that point (10 min), but he declined and continued. I had my hands dirty the entire time giving him a hand. He did not ask specifically but didn't tell me stop, let him handle it etc... I still thought everything was going alright. Then he said he couldn't find the correct bolts but I know i never take them away from the parts they are from. No biggie, he threw in some non standard bolts. But nothing major, they fit, looked strong enough to hold. Nate had an issue with a spacer that came on the new Alternator. He pushed it one way too far and had to put in back to the original spot. Again no big deal, said he had never seen it before. Then he was unsure of how the tensioner went back on. Eventually we figured out how to seat it right (hopefully). We put the belt on, which seemed a little off of center, where it sat on the tensioner. Again, I am not sure if that's correct, but neither was he totally. And that was the main issue for me. I then started the car and about 30 seconds in , all the lights came on the dashboard, the car started to act like it was getting ready to stall, and then started to smoke from behind the alternator, near where the head meets the block (in that area). I shut the car off, and then Nate said, "We'll sorry to leave you like this, but maybe it's your battery." He put the voltmeter on it and said the battery needed to be charged. He then left. I paid $50 for 40 minutes of work roughly (a third of that was messing with that spacer and a 3 minute phone call). He had originally quoted me $80 for the entire job. It was my understanding for $80 I would have handed him the part and been called over when he was finished. I think I overpaid by $20. But I should have said something before I gave it to him. My problem was; I was left with 30% of the job to finish, had done another 40% getting it to the point where the alternator was ready to be removed. and the car was in a worst spot then when he started. Even if he had nothing to do with the smoke coming from behind the alternator he could have at least offered to look into and repair it.(for payment) Nate was punctual, but seemed more concerned with getting the money and leaving as fast as possible rather than helping a customer get their car back on the road. I also understand Nate is much cheaper (shop would have been $300 with the alternator) than a shop but if something happens you have no protection and no recourse. This was my first mobile mechanic, but I think next time would use a shop or I would ask to valid ASE certification and insurance for the mechanic, either for personal injury if he is harmed on the property or if your car is damaged. read more
