However, I had a very unprofessional experience with one of their work vehicles. One of their workers was backing up and almost hit my car. I honked to signal that he was about to hit me, and instead of acknowledging the situation, the worker gave me the middle finger. Accidents can happen, but the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Representing a company means your behavior on the road matters too. I hope management addresses this type of behavior with their employees. Very disappointing experience.

I knew enough about construction and engineering to seek professional input and reached out to Alpha Structural. They were pretty booked out, however when I explained the gravity of the problem (people in a home office below the tub area), Franchesca worked her magic and got me an appointment in 2 days. Damien showed up promptly at the 9 Am start time. We walked around the property while I explained my concern, and noted several other possible issues. Damien was extremely through, asking numerious questions and providing input and advice along the way. He took the time to explain causes for the different issues and was personable, professional and extremely helpful. Luckly for me, my problems traced back to normal settling, a recent solar panel and roofing job and normal aging. It's no wonder why Alpha has so many 5 star reviews- They absolutitly deserve every one of those. I only wish other businesses were as well run, and with such amazing people like Damien and Franchesca.

One issue, however, was that there was differential settling. This is where Alpha Structural comes in. I feel the entire process went well. Ken came out to survey the situation. We had a good conversation and came to consensus on the scope of work; and I feel I received a fair proposal. David Gonzalez (supervisor) was good at communicating once the job started. He provided an accurate timeline for Alpha's part of the rehab project (so that I could schedule subsequent contractors). When demolition revealed new things, I was informed. And he provided a good debrief when work was completed. Matteo and Dennis spent three days on the project. Whenever I visited the worksite, they were busy. I don't think people realize what is involved when re-leveling a house. These two demonstrated a lot of skilled work. I (and my neighbors) also appreciate the company's "clean as you go" process. Regardless of the work happening, the worksite was always neat. Going forward, I feel I have a good (new) baseline understanding of what is happening within my house.

When I decided to renovate 3100 sq feet of floors in my home using large-format tile, I knew it would not be an easy job for just anyone. I knew floor preparation and leveling would be extremely important. Covalt Floor Leveling came highly recommended and they absolutely exceeded my expectations. From day 1 it was obvious, their knowledge of large tiles and leveling was obvious. Dealing direct with Martin Covalt on technical advice was the key to better understanding of why floor leveling was the only way to start this overwhelming floor renovation. The value of leveling floors prior to installation is something we had to get educated on and Martin Covalt knows this value: he has been in the business for over 35 years. And he has a great crew to prove it. The Covalt crew was the bonus as they were also extremely professional, punctual and precise to make sure every detail was checked before the start. Their attention to meticulous items I would never have perceived necessary with flooring renovation, gave me complete confidence my new tile floor would have proper foundation right from the start. Their reliability stood out to me during the process. This quality is surprisingly difficult to find in this industry because we had several bids during reconstruction. Covalt crew showed up when they said they would, communicated clearly, worked efficiently, and treated me, my family and my home with respect throughout the process. The entire experience was smooth and stress-free. Martin Covalt and Covalt Floor Leveling truly takes pride in their work. I highly recommend Covalt to anyone who needs floor advice, work or full renovation. They are true professionals and I will only ever use them for future projects.

Some contractors only walked around the exterior of my home, while others took a quick look underneath. Jon, the field representative from Sunshine Foundation Repairs was different from the moment he arrived. He was on time, friendly, professional, and immediately went into the crawl space to perform a thorough inspection. I was impressed that I received a detailed proposal the very same day. The biggest reason I chose Sunshine Builders was the quality of Jon's inspection. He was the only contractor who identified sagging floor joists in my living room, which likely explained the squeaking floors I had been hearing. He documented the issue with photos and recommended the appropriate repairs, giving me confidence that he was looking out for the long-term integrity of my home--not just trying to sell a standard retrofit. Throughout the entire process, Jon kept me informed every step of the way, from permitting and plan check to scheduling the installation. Communication was excellent, and I always knew what to expect. On inspection day, everything went smoothly. The contractor arrived prepared with all the required paperwork, met with the City inspector, and ensured the inspection was completed without any issues. Jon made an outstanding first impression and represented Sunshine Foundation Repairs exceptionally well. His thorough inspection, attention to detail, clear communication, and guidance throughout the entire process are the reasons why I chose Sunshine Foundation Repairs I would highly recommend them. There was continuous and steady progress, and I usually was invited over each week to check on the progress of work. The project was well timed. The initial estimate was for around 5 months. It ended up taking 5 months and 3 weeks. The small delay was due to city permitting back-and-forth and weather, which all seemed understandable. The cost estimate was also quite accurate. We only went less-than-10% over, and generally due to things that we decided to upgrade partway through, or issues we discovered only after tearing open the walls. They also had a one year warranty on issues with the work, which they have honored with no hassle. Ultimately the company acts with integrity, and in this industry that's saying a lot.
