Quick and communicative and fairly priced. I only have good things to say about the experience. I have an enclosed deck that was recently updated with tile and the waterproofing was inadequate. Water had leaked through and there were other issues with the install. Robert first came by to give an in person estimate. While he was here he answered all my questions honestly and confidence. He was able to pinpoint the reasons that my old deck had failed and gave me a detailed plan on his approach to the fix. They were able to complete the work quickly and the site was kept clean. Communication throughout the process was great. They used their 5 step lifedeck coating as well as a bonderized steel railing around my deck walls. The work began within the week and they even rushed a bit to finish before the rain. I appreciate that Robert and his team went above and beyond to do so. Happy with the result and would gladly recommend their work read more

We wanted to thank Robert for the wonderful job his crew did sealing the deck and honoring his warranty. Monarch Deck is a quality business that does exceptional work. read more

I can't say enough good things about Monarch Deck Coatings! From the first consultation to the final walkthrough, their team was prompt, professional, and clearly passionate about the work they do. Our garage was in pretty rough shape, and now it looks absolutely stunning--like a brand new space! The crew paid attention to every detail and made sure we were happy with each step of the process. They explained all the coating options thoroughly and helped us choose the best finish for both durability and style. The results exceeded our expectations. If you're looking for high-quality workmanship, clear communication, and a team that genuinely cares, Monarch Deck Coatings is the way to go. Highly recommended!! read more

Did such an amazing job on my floors! Quality you can definitely count on! Robert goes above and beyond!!

Monarch made satisfactory repairs to a balcony two years ago. I made a call May 27 of this year asking to add a new layer of topcoat because hairline cracks have appeared. After several phone calls from me and unfilled promises from Monarch to call me back, I've decided to give up and look elsewhere for service. read more

They do a horrible job. They fixed my balcony 3 times and it is still leaking. They don't know what they're doing. I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone. Does anyone want to join me in suing them? read more

Monarch did some work on one of our decks at my property. They did a great jobs and handled the issues we were having very quickly. I appreciate the service and would highly recommend. The gentlemen who did the work were very efficient and communicative. I really appreciate the work they did. It came out great. read more

I asked Monarch to redo my two decks. One had been worn about and was ready to start leaking on to the lower floor. Robert's team came and gave a fair estimate. They completed the job in two and half days and cleaned up after themselves. Overall they did a great job. I will make a small comment though. Although it doesn't change my review. They would say that they would be at the property at a certain time and often it was late by about an hour. When they are supervised by Robert, they are excellent; when he isn't there they do a good job but are not as thorough and detailed. read more

Robert Senior and his entire team demolished and rebuilt our 25-year-old 3rd floor leaky enclosed deck this summer in Corona del Mar. They replaced several pieces of rotten plywood under the old deck coating which was the source of our leaks in the bedrooms and closets below. They replaced the flashing and 8" of stucco around the perimeter of our deck floor and repainted the walls surrounding the deck. They were knowledgeable, professional, reliable and honest. I highly recommend this company! It's best to get this work done before the rainy season begins!! Thank you, Robert and your entire team! read more

Very happy with the work done. Had a leak and a lot of damage to a deck to fix. Robert and Robert Jr negotiated a fair price and did everything they said they would do. Would go with them again. read more

I called Monarch Deck Coating to fix a leak in the balcony which was dripping to the living space below. They came and fixed the leak and there was no leak despite the heavy recent rains. Robert you responded to my 9/5/2021 negative review blaming it on new ownership ( you have deleted your response) . I decided to give you a chance again to redo my deck. Your son Robert Junior came out to bid my deck 12/2021 he was clueless on how to fix it. He sent me an expensive bid that I asked some questions about . You canceled the bid and didn't even contact me or return a phone call. Robert Junior was unable to answer simple construction questions on building decks and applying waterproof coatings. People looking for a deck company I strongly suggest you call Prestige Deck Coating or Crank Waterproofing . I see you have edited and deleted all the name calling and ranting against me. You removed your insults and threats along with your agreement that your son was clueless. Robert your customer service has been extremely poor two times. I see many of your 5 stars are epoxy garage floors which might be your strength as a company. You have not been able to give a useable bid to replace a deck and waterproof it. I stand by my recommendation of Prestige or Crank Waterproofing. read more

We had a great experience with Monarch! We appreciated the speed at which they were able to complete our job, flexibility with working around our contractors schedule, and of course with the final project result! read more

Monarch Deck Coating is very professional on their work and customer service. They set a goal to get it done and it was completed on that date. Most of time construction companies or contractors give you a date and always run over. The clean up was perfect, very little dust. Their equipment was top of the line. Highly recommended. Plus having some my customers asking for their number. Here's couple of photos before and after. Thank you read more

A highly unreliable business. They never followed up after providing the quote to which I agreed in its entirety. They did not return calls and ignored all messages. Buyer beware. Don't waste your time with them. There are much better options out there. Reply to your comments: Robert: The names I dealt with in your business were Robert M and Robert A. I also called and left several messages that went unanswered. I have already moved on and hired another company which is doing a great job. Thank you. read more

We had a great experience with Monarch. They are a family business run by two generations of Robert. Our specific problem was a deck whose waterproofing had spring a leak during this year's rains. They quoted me for a replacement of the surface and a fixing of a soft spot in the underlying plywood. Their pricing was very reasonable. Once we had taken up the boards, we found some rot in the supporting 2x4, which had to be replaced, and was added to the quote. This was extra, but the quote was still reasonable. The new deck system we have is a big improvement on the previous one in terms of structure, and looks pleasing to the eye. The crew that came was efficient, and worked quickly to get it done on time. Robert senior supervised them closely, starting and finishing the job. They are conducting multiple jobs in a single day around the area, so their arrival times are fairly rough estimates, but I think this is how they keep their costs low. We also have their warranty coverage and will use them again to renew the deck covering when it is time. read more

I highly recommend this company. These guys are very professional and do great work. They show up on time and leave the site clean every day. They installed new flashing and new deck coatings on a large deck. I am confident from the layers of fiberglass and coats of life deck that it will not leak. (Forgive me if I left out steps) Thanks!!! read more

It took several calls before someone answered the phone. "Will call back Monday to schedule." No call. Follow up call resulted in a return call a day or two later to schedule an estimate. Once estimate meeting occurred, I was impressed with the review of issue and promise to call back at 3pm with estimate and conference with owner. No call, no estimate. Later that week I sent a text 'curious why they chose not to estimate the job?' "Oh, it must be in my spam box. I'll follow up when I get back." No response. Sorry they dropped the communication ball. Bad business at the least. read more

Absolutely brilliant company to work with. I had a number of quotes and went with Monarch due to the fact their pricing was good and that Ryan is an open, honest person who is a pleasure to deal with. The crew turned up ontime every day and left the deck immaculately clean, I had to go away for the last day and Ryan sent me photo updates as to the progress so I was always updated as to what was happening. The system they use is excellent and has also been enhanced to provide additional waterproofing, for the first time in years I am not worried about the winter rain! read more

Monarch Coatings did an amazing job refinishing the concrete in my home! Ryan patiently walked me through the entire process and was extremely responsive to all my questions. This company does great work at a reasonable price. After getting quotes from multiple vendors they gave me the best price with the same scope of work as all other vendors. They finished the job in about 3 days. I made a small request to fix some of the caulking that wasn't smooth around my support beams and Robert sent someone to fix it the next day. The worker on-site, Haris, was kind and focused. I would recommend this company. read more

Guys came a did a great job resurfacing our deck over two days. Online payment was easy.

Robert and his team came out to get us a free estimate the day after I called, inquiring about Monarch's services. We received a fair and well-thought out quote to re-do our restaurant patio, and Robert kept in communication with us while we deliberated the work with our landlord. After we accepted the quote, Monarch got us immediately on the calendar and soon was back to get the old deck completely removed, patio infrastructure repaired where needed, and put the new flooring in. The team was courteous and understanding, working quickly, efficiently, and paying great attention to detail. We love our new patio, and are extremely satisfied with Monarch's work. Our guests have noticed and complimented it, and our team loves the feel, look and durability of our new patio. Highly recommend both Monarch's team and product. read more

I would not recommend using Monarch for deck repair. New owners are not honoring the warranty on the work done on our deck by the previous owner Ryan. This is disappointing as I now have a deck that is leaking water into our house and it is within the warranty to time to be repaired but the new owners will not help me. Best to try another company for your deck work/repairs. read more

The whole Monarch crew were not just 'floor guys" - they're artists that worked in concert with us to design the most amazingly beautiful kitchen and entryway floors. But beyond the skilled workmanship - their work ethics are above reproach. It your appointment is for 10 - they show up at 9:50. If there's a reason for a delay - they let you know immediately. If you need them to come back - they answer the phone (or email) and make arrangements to come back out. The product line is superb and professionally applied by skilled workers that were a joy to have in our home. read more
