His crew worked tirelessly throughout the day, and then demonstrated professionalism by sweeping our walkways, locking the gate, and creating blocks so my dogs wouldn't ruin the concrete. My job was small. Once scheduled, It took a while to get them to property. Work was completed in a 24 hour time period. I was unable to be home for completion. After they left property, I asked for them to return to caulk entire line instead of just leaving it caulked half way. I believe this was in lieu of stucco I opted not to have patched. Now after rain, I still have water pooling in the same areas on my patio and was hoping this work would remedy that. I have used or recommended this company multiple times over the years. They are very professional and know their job.

We were very happy with Ram Jack and Larry Gomez. They came in and provided needed bracing for our home. We have a very old house that was a move on well over 50 years ago. We bought the house from someone else so we don't know how old it is but it used to reside in the SDSU area. We only know that because the contractor who did the moving lived next door. We have owned it since 1970. That is not a typo. We decided to have the house "earthquake hardened" for insurance purposes as well as protection. We went to CEA's website for approved contractors. We went to the one listed for our area. Premier Choice Restoration. Don't go to them. They came out and instead of providing us with a bid, sent us a link to another contractor with no explanation except for some pictures with no labels that had arrows pointing to certain elements. When I finally nailed them down, they said that they couldn't do a brace and bolt because our whole house had to be lifted and then the foundation repoured and that's why they referred us elsewhere. To say I was in shock was an understatement. This would be many thousands of dollars even if it could be done. Which it couldn't be as it turns out. I reviewed the reviews of their referral on yelp and other places as well as checking them out on the contractors licensing board, secretary of state and local government. This is standard for me before hiring anyone. I wasn't over the moon with what I found and I highly suspect that Premier would have received a referral fee from the people they reccomended. I went looking and found Ram Jack and called them in after throughly vetting them. Larry told us that a brace and bolt literaly could not be done because of the way the foundation had been executed. He also said that a lift and repour was "old school" and that is not done anymore except in very extreme cases like when there was improper compaction of the earth below the foundation. In our case, that would not have been possible either because the former garage sits on a ground level concrete foundation while the rest of the house is on a raise concrete block foundation with crawl space underneath. The ground level space is connected to the rest of the house with shared wiring and plumbing in the connected wall and their would be no way to "lift" the former garage area (now our master bedroom space). Larry reccomended some additional bracing in certain areas. The people who did the move on did not tie the home together well. It was moved in 3 different sections and in one instance they had partially cut a beam and it was cracking and needed to be shored up. If Larry and Ram Jack were not honest they could have sold us a bill of goods and charged us a lot for doing expensive inappropriate work that would not have helped brace the home for an earthquake. Instead, they provided a solution to ensure that the house will keep standing (sans large earthquake) for another 50 years or at least. This wasn't cheap (a bit over $8,000) but well worth it for piece of mind. If the beam had broken, home owners insurance probably wouldn't have covered the ensuing disaster because it wasn't a sudden calamity and would have cost much much more than what we paid to Ram Jack. The beam had been stressed for as long as the house had been moved on. Even though the initial goal of earthquake hardening was not achieved, we wouldn't have known about this otherwise. If we have an earthquake, at least we do have insurance for that. read more

Don impressed me as very knowledgeable when he came out for an evaluation in December 2024. He stopped halfway through the evaluation and asked for me to contact a structural engineer who he is affiliated with. I did that, then emailed him three separate times over a 6 month period with the engineer's report for follow through. He did not respond to my first or third email and after the second email he said he had been on vacation and would get back to me but he never did. I spent $2K on the structural engineer report. The structural engineer mostly confirmed in his report items that I pointed out to him that needed fixing and I did not find his input to be helpful (at least not worth $2K). I am disappointed that Don did not follow through with multiple emails that I sent him. I have given up on him and am looking for other foundation contractors. read more

I highly recommend Ram Jack Pacific. We had one of their specialists visit to determine if we have an issue with our foundation. We just might have an issue due to a tree root problem, but luckily we can wait and see as the root decays and the house settles back. Don came out twice, once to examine the foundation of an extension that I thought was sinking into the ground. He ended up reviewing his level the entire house was along with the extension and let us know that there was nothing wrong with the foundation - no work needed. On top of that, he went into the crawl space and let me know that there was debris and wood that needed to be taken out to prevent termites as well as advice to install crawlspace vents. On the second visit, I asked Don to check out some moisture-damaged concrete in my garage. It wasn't a part of Ram Jacks offering, but he walked to the hill-side of the property and advised me that the side of the house actually needed foundation waterproofing as well as sub-ground gutter tie-ins to usher water away from the property. Along with that, Don advised me to look into water drainage blockages on the other side of the property and even narrowed down the cause of our mysterious high water bill by looking at our water meter and determining that we didn't have a property pressure leak, but rather a leak somewhere in our irrigation system. Simply put, Don is a craftsman with deep knowledge on home construction and was more than generous with his time by going out of his way to help me understand my home. We will definitely be using him and Ram Jack for foundational matters after resolving our bigger foundational issues. read more

These guys are honest! I didn't end up using Ram Jack Pacific, because they came out to review a rather significant crack in the brick wall across the front of my house. After they reviewed the foundation twice to ensure their measurements were accurate, they declined my business because they couldn't detect structural damage to the foundation. They informed me that my issue was most likely just a masonry issue. I want to stress, I had other foundation people out who told me the issue was MAJOR and would require 12 piers and a lot of money.
