Wow! I was calling around to different companies trying to get quotes for some foundation stabilization on my home built in 1912. Right off the bat, knowing nothing about my home, told me all the issues with working on a home as old as mine, despite me having a report from a structural engineer. Perhaps, putting on your website: profile that you will not work on homes over 50 years might be helpful, instead of wasting people's time and /or mansplaining things that are completely contrary to a structural engineer's assessment. read more

I didn't end up needing survey done since I didn't get property, but he was very kind to explain over phone the process and what type of ways he determines issues with property. Very disappointed with foundations on the level. Price was competitive, but I guess you get what you pay for. Peter told me that because he was only lifting the house an inch or two in some areas the damages would be minimal. Possibly some drywall cracks, but not much beyond that. He also told me that everything will be put back the way it was found. Here I sit months after they "finished" the project still cleaning up after the mess they left behind with well over $10,000 and unexpected damages. They left my deck and shambles structurally nowhere near the way they found it. That repair cost me $4000. they also left my kitchen completely unlevel. There's about a one and a half inch difference from the window on the one side to the window on the other side. I essentially have to redo my entire kitchen now because the countertops were left on level as well as the window because of how they lifted the floor. Doesn't make any sense aesthetically or functionally. When I ask Peter about the damage that he never brought to my attention, he told me to reference the small print in my contract. Nice way to conduct business and set the right expectations for your customers. Again, just very disappointed. In addition to that after Peter started the project, he conjured up a $5000 adder for concrete that he claims he didn't know was there. Not only did we discussed the concrete that was there, I also showed him pictures when he came out. To his benefit in my detriment, he didn't recall and still charged me. I would've told him absolutely not, but they had already started the project and dug a moat around 75% of my home Peter also told me that after they lifted the foundation perimeter, they would quickly and cost-effectively make adjustments as needed to the supports underneath the house. After paying him $70,000 to repair the foundation, he popped his head under the house and said they look fine. That was his assessment. Meanwhile, there are huge drops in my bedroom and bathroom floor that he can't explain or fix. read more

The review is long overdue, but I would like to praise the work Peter and his team did. When we ripped old floors we found slab cracks. Peter came on a short notice, diagnosed the severity of the problem, recommended preventive measures. Looks like he knows what he's doing, have plenty of business and did not try to upsell his services. However, I still needed to fix the cracks before the new floors coming up (with installation being scheduled next week, naturally). Peter was extremely responsive and performed the work I requested, Polyurethane foam injection under my slab, earlier than I thought he would be able to get to it. Foundations on the Level was one of a handful of foundation repair companies referred to me by a geological engineer friend. I spoke with the owner Peter on the phone and sent him a picture of my known issue (crack in stem wall foundation). He showed up on time for our appointment and spent about 2 hours reviewing and measuring my property inside and out. He gave me an honest opinion of the repair required and suggested I didn't need his level of expertise to handle the issue. He also indicated why I was having an issue and how I could go about resolving it. Mind you his service was free of charge and he didn't try to sell me any repairs, in fact, quite the opposite he suggested a less expensive route. His solution was the most through of all the bids we got and he was very honest and a straight shooter who wants to do the job right. I feel grateful to have found this company for our foundation stabilization repair. We had 4 other companies come out to take a look. One wanted to do the job without getting proper permits. One wanted to nickel and dime every last thing. Three of them wanted to do a more complicated repair building a secondary foundation. Peter was the last one I called and thank goodness!! After getting multiple quotes for foundation work I decided to go with Peter at Foundations on the Level and I am glad I did. Peter was very thorough with the project and ensured I was aware clear on everything that needed to be done. He also came in several thousands of dollars less than every other company, while giving me more support piers and tie backs. At the start of the project we had a water line break and he came out on the weekend to fix it within an hour, even though it may have occurred with another contactor. Since it was raining a lot during the project he ensured boards were placed down for us to walk on them and not get muddy. He also found that some equipment wasn't needed so he didn't install it, which saved us some money. Well... we set up an appointment, and by my mistake we missed Peter by about 5 minutes for our appointment. I was very apologetic, and knew that it was my mistake. We still wanted to move forward with Peter, so I gave about 3 different phone calls and left voicemails for him. Knowing that he was busy, I called him a few more times with no response. I finally got a hold of him, which at this point he was incredibly rude and disrespectful. He told me "I'm in an airport I can't help you", then randomly screamed into the phone "What's wrong with your house". When I explained the flooring situation he proceeded to rudely tell me we would need to spend $30k, and get a permit that will take a year. This is not what we were told by other opinions, and Peter had never seen our flooring to make that quote. The way he spoke to me on the phone was incredibly gross.
