Outstanding experience! I hired Lovelace Engineering to inspect a kitchen beam/wall in my home to see if it was load-bearing. Miles Lovelace, the CEO, personally stepped in to help me even though he was incredibly busy. He conducted a thorough inspection, confirmed the wall was non-bearing. Had an in-person visit with Miles few days after the unpleasant experience with the receptionist. Few words exchanged with mutual agreement concerning the payment issue. I agreed to pay for the amount in question. I still don't understand the behavior demonstrated by the receptionist. She essentially dared me to leave a negative review with yelp, and filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau. Customer service it was NOT. Regardless of behavior exhibited by the front desk person, the service provided was more than adequate. Started the renovation project based on Miles' work. I would certainly refer the firm's services to others. read more

I don't often feel the need to share my experience as I believe everyone will have a different one, however sometimes you encounter something special. Miles was referred to me in my darkest hour during a home remodel. He went above and beyond to solve an issue that threatened to derail my entire remodel. Without his expertise and prompt work, I would be living in a hotel with my wife and small children. Thank you for the great work and for being a problem SOLVER and not a problem underliner like many others I have encountered. Cheers to great work and a good support staff. read more

We are in escrow for a home that has had active water problems (leaks, main pipe burst). With deadline approaching we needed a rough idea of worst-case damage to expect from potential structural damage from water/termites. Another contractor we called wouldn't come out. Miles took the time to call back amid his busy schedule. He listened patiently to my questions and addressed each of them. I could sense a genuine desire to help. Since there was no way to perform an actual estimate of damages without opening up the damaged walls, his advice was helpful in assessing the order of magnitude of potential expenses. If we ever need a structural engineer, we would definitely call him. read more

Needed to find out if a wall could come down to open up our kitchen. We were told we needed a structural engineer to look at our plans. We were referred to Miles by a friend, he saw us within 24 hours and within 5 minutes told us we could take the wall down and explained why. He was helpful, informative and knowledgeable. He gave us solid advice at no expense. He was fair and if we needed his services we felt confident he would do a great job. THANK YOU Miles!! June 3, 2017 - Update to our February posting. As everyone knows remodeling is a long process with many unforeseen twists and turns. It turned out we needed plans drawn up from Miles with structural calculations for the wall removal. Miles took care of that for us in a timely manner and the costs was fair. When we went to the County for our permit we had to make several corrections, nothing to do with the calculations, and Miles made the corrections again within a day and sent us the revisions. A second trip to the County posed more questions and problems that had nothing to do with Miles and the structural calculations. He was very helpful in guiding us to someone to help us. Another trip to the County was more successful but "verbiage" needed to be changed before they could issue the permit. Again Miles was helpful, saw me the same day, fixed the verbiage and then back to the County. Finally we were granted our permit. I can not thank Miles enough for his guidance, help and immediate corrections. If you are looking for a structural engineer, you can't go wrong with Miles and the Lovelace engineering team!!! read more

Incredibly quick and professional response, which is so important when you are stressed out about the foundation of a home you are buying!

Had a previously built and permitted deck and we wanted to know if the joists and beams could support the weight of a spa and he worked with us on price and was quick to respond when others continuously blew me off because they were not doing the entire project from scratch. He was also the only one to give me a price for what i was looking for. read more

I'm so pleased with Miles, and I never even got to be a customer. After seeing these reviews on Yelp I reached out to him for a large beam construction project we're doing at my house.
