    SK Concrete - Foundation

    SK Concrete

    (63 reviews)

Shafiaq Khouli and his SK Concrete team built on our back yard a 14' x 14' SPA niche including a…read more12' x 12' x 5" reinforced concrete pad, foundation, drainage, three sides surrounding half high retaining walls and embedded SPA electrical wiring conduit. They also installed footing drain (French drain) on the back retaining wall, backfilled with the usual gravel, crushed stone and covered the outside of the walls with installed paneled stone veneer. They also did the initial former structure demolition, debris hauling and the requested earth moving and other necessary small retaining walls reassembly. It sounds like an easy simple job but, believe me, it got complicated quite soon. Along the construction way, I was able to interact with the crew and bounce ideas and corrections which were followed to my customer satisfaction, resulting in more than a very acceptable final product. When the inevitable, beyond his control, the one odd crew helper misbehavior occurred on the job, this contractor immediately corrected it, got on top of the problem and smoothly and quickly we had no more of an issue here. He also facilitated for me the customer to bring my own tile / stone wall-caps products and installer guys, which ended doing a beautiful job we're very proud of. Pricing fair, not inexpensive. Job done acceptable, with your own (the customer) continuous supervision and being able to stop working crew's irreparable mistakes before they happened, however, the final product came out well built and functional as we imagined and expected, we are grateful for that. Thanks again to Shafiaq and SK Concrete for accepting working on our small home project and for including us in their busy commercial and industrial schedule.

There were two spots where he said his crew could do the work, but said it would be really easy for me to do in a couple hours to save some money. Which I really appreciated him not up selling me. Then I received the bid the next day. After we went into contract his team showed up and started the work. It was started on Monday and pouring concrete on Saturday. They were great to work with and respected our house. What I especially appreciated was the care they took to ensure nothing around the house was damaged. This was a pleasant experience and I would recommend SK Concrete to anyone for their big or small project.

From start to finish, the team was professional, punctual, and easy to work with. They clearly know what they're doing and paid great attention to detail throughout the entire installation. The turf looks amazing -- clean, realistic, and completely transformed our space. The crew worked efficiently, kept everything tidy, and made sure we were happy before wrapping up. It's rare to find a company that delivers both great customer service and top-quality work, but Greenturf Pro nailed it. If you're considering turf installation, don't hesitate to go with Green Turf Pro. Worth every penny!

After dealing with a completely botched turf job from another contractor, I had to fight to get…read moreeverything redone the right way. Unfortunately, that company refused to redo the job, and the legal process is still ongoing. After all of that, I found Green Turf Pro and hired them to completely redo the job, and I am very glad I did. One of the biggest things that stood out to me was that they do not outsource the work to random subcontractors. They use their own employees, and it shows in the quality, professionalism, and attention to detail. They did everything the way it should have been done from the beginning, and I have had no issues. We can finally enjoy our backyard the way we wanted to and actually use it for volleyball, badminton, and just having a great time outside. Thank you so much, Green Turf Pro, for making it happen

Minez Concrete - Textured Stamped Colored Concrete

We found and recently hired Minez Concrete for a retaining wall project, and I can honestly say…read morethis has been the best experience we've had with a contractor. This is the first time we've worked with someone who showed up on time every single day -- no excuses, no delays -- just consistent, reliable work. Oswaldo and his crew were extremely professional and clearly focused on doing the job efficiently and correctly the first time. Our situation was not simple. We had a retaining wall failure and, during excavation, discovered a pipe that we weren't even sure who it belonged to. Oswaldo went above and beyond by helping us navigate communication with the county and making sure we understood what was going on. He took the time to explain every step of the process clearly, which gave us a lot of confidence. We received six different quotes, but ultimately chose Minez Concrete because we felt the most comfortable with Oswaldo -- and that absolutely proved to be the right decision. He even came out on a Sunday to provide the estimate and was right on time, which says a lot about his professionalism. We are already planning to hire him again for a second retaining wall project that requires permits, and he has already started helping us through that process. I'll update this review once everything is fully complete, but so far, if you need a concrete contractor, Oswaldo and his team are outstanding. Highly recommend. 100 stars!!!!!

A JOB WELL DONE We…read morehave a long concrete driveway that curves up a hill to our home. The driveway is 47 years old and was in need of repairs to the driveway and to replace a low curved concrete wall on one side of the driveway, which was badly damaged by time and a large truck. From the Yelp website, I selected 3 five-star contractors for bids to repair the driveway. I'm in my late eighties and handicapped, but in my younger days I worked in construction starting back in 1952 as an apprentice carpenter. I have worked on many projects where I built forms to pour concrete for homes, high rise buildings, and underground tunnels. I have also worked on cementing casing in oil wells as deep as two miles and I have personally poured and finished concrete at my own home. So needless to say, I know a lot about concrete and construction in general. Now that I'm too old and crippled up to work, I'm always apprehensive when I have to hire men to work for me. All too often you get people who lack the skill and experience to do a proper job and often, they don't care how the job turns out. Then they leave behind a mess for the homeowner to clean up. When Oswaldo Minez came to look the job over prior to submitting a bid, I was very impressed with his knowledge and attitude. He told me he was the son of a father and son business and that was my background as well until my father's early death at a young age. The bid from Minez Concrete was the lowest bid and I gave them the contract. A few days later they called to say they had an unscheduled delay in their next job and they could begin work at our home. Oswaldo said they would show up at 7 AM and to my surprise the crew arrived right on time and every day thereafter. Oswaldo's father, Ramon is in charge of the actual work and I could tell right from the start that Ramon is an old school craftsman. He has trained his crew to be competent workers. Too often companies in southern California show up with a boss, who doesn't know what he is doing, and untrained men hired to work by the day. Not the Minez Company, their men are professional workers, who know their craft. On several occasions I have hired people and had to stand there all day making sure the job was done right and sometimes pitching in myself to do the job. After watching the Minez crew for a short time, I knew we were in good hands and I went back into the house. Every time I came out to observe progress there was Ramon supervising his men while working beside them to give us a first-rate job. The repairs all turned out beautifully and several people have commented upon how nice the driveway looks. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the work to go so smoothly and quickly. It was such a surprise and relief to be treated so well with a beautiful result. Oswaldo kept us informed regarding progress and his suggestions and those of Ramon contributed greatly to the final outcome. If you want a first-class experience at a fair price then hire Minez Concrete. They know what they are doing and they do the job right for a fair price. In today's world, that is rare.

He was incredibly understanding with both myself and the challenges presented by our HOA, which made things quite difficult at times. Matt also played a key role by keeping me well informed and providing valuable guidance on how everything would come together. Thanks to their excellent communication and expertise, the final project turned out even better than I had imagined. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for quality turf work. The lien encumbered our property for three years. The work itself was a complete failure. The retaining wall collapsed. The owner never returned to repair defects or clean up after being paid in full. We had to hire private labor and purchase materials ourselves to address the damage. After an 16-18 month investigation, the California State License Board (CSLB) found 17 violations against this contractor's license, including 11 misdemeanor charges. He was fined $6,000. The investment property was listed for sale and could not sell due to the construction defects and the lien on title. We ultimately lost the property. All of this is documented public record. You can verify the violations directly on the CSLB license lookup at www.cslb.ca.gov. Check out evoturfandpavers.com for our experience with Michael Mulder
