Great place on the way out of Burns toward Frenchglen. Gas, showers, best burgers and milkshakes you can imagine. Highly recommended.

Such friendly people everywhere we've been in this part of Oregon and the Narrows was no exception. The ladies running the place the Saturday we came here were great, so nice and helpful. At first we were the only patrons of the restaurant, though they had a steady business for fuel and the mini part portion of things. The woman that helped us told us we wanted the peppered fries, no question. She was not wrong, they were great! Thin cut but not so thin that they were chips, good flavor. We ordered the chicken salad and the club. The portions were massive and both were great. The toasted part of the club was unexpected, as well as the olives, but it was so good. We split the two dishes so we tried both. Everything seemed fresh and made with care. Just know, this isn't fast food. And there was one woman doing all the cooking, so the wait was longer than maybe some people are used to. But the food was great. Our server was even experimenting with making their shake of the month (lemonade) and gave us some samples - it was delicious by the way! The combo store, restaurant, bar is nicely laid out, lots of space and clean. Sounds like they just painted it too so the usual art on the walls wasn't there. The RV campground looked nice, and we are interested in coming back to try that out too! read more

They need to replace the RV site host. This fellow has no idea of what it means to be a host. He fails to replenish the dog waste bags at the dog walk. Failing to bring bags with you on your walk expecting to use bags from dispenser, you return with your own bags to clean up. In the meantime the host confronts you rudely telling you have not cleaned up after your pet and is going to fine you $50. WOW what an AO. read more

This is a nice little RV Park! We came in around dinner time and we got desert to go from the restaurant - big milkshakes and pie and ice cream. Delicious! The restroom/showers were super clean and the service was great! Our only complaint was all the mosquitos! We normal eat outside and take the dog for walks, but we stayed indoor this time. It wasn't so bad if you have repellent on. Bummer coffee shop wasn't open the morning we left - but that ok! Next time! We would definitely stay again if misquoto read more

Only RV Park, gas, store, restaurant, laundry facility between Burns south past the Steens Mountain horse management area. But, the best part is the prices are good, the owners are very nice and willing to go the extra mile, it's super clean, and overall just a nice place to stay. If you are just passing through or looking for a place to stay to go looking for wild horses or bird watching, you cannot beat this place. read more

We were driving home from Nevada and decided to take a different route. Luckily, we came across The Narrows RV Park. We were low on gas and hadn't eaten for awhile. Boy, were we glad we came this way!! Everything was fantastic--the food, the service and the attention from the owners, Scott & Tina!!! In my opinion, they are the salt of the earth kind of people. God Bless them both for the service they provide to RVers and everyone else who passes through. I wish more people in the world were as supportive, helpful and kind as them. If I ever get this way again, I'll definitely take this route. read more

Interesting little place out in the middle of nowhere. The service is excellent. The food is really good. Went for the prime rib dinner. Old fashioned dinning. We had a salad and rolls along with mashed potatoes and gravy and the daily vegetable. It was soup or salad at the beginning. It's small and intimate. Tina & Scott are fabulous hosts. We pulled in after 10 pm and set up our tent in the dark on the Friday night of Memorial Day weekend. Easily found a spot on the grassy lawn. It was quiet except for bird song. I called earlier Friday when I knew we'd be late and Tina gave me all the needed details so we could access the bathrooms and showers. We were up early and were at Malheur Headquarters by 6. We came back around 8 to get quarters for showers then headed out again. Super friendly and helpful staff. Felt totally safe leaving all of our stuff there exposed during the day. Great place to stay 5 mins from refuge headquarters! read more

Sites are level and have plenty of room. We have a 40' fifth wheel fit fine. General Store, restaurant, and bar . Also Gas, Diesel and propane pretty much covers anything you may need . Very nice people and good food. We will be back . read more

First, I think it is important to mention that this RV park received national attention during the Bundy protest at the Malheur National Refuge. We spoke to birders who would not stay at her place because they believed the owner supported the Bundy protesters, even though it is the closest RV park to the wildlife refuge. I did some research and learned that that the owner was allowing everyone to stay, including reporters. I believe that she really didn't know how to handle the situation and she did not actually support the Bundy protesters. She probably wasn't fully aware of the entire situation. In fact, she may have been terrified and was trying to keep the peace. She wasn't just accommodating the Bundy protesters, but reporters as well. If I truly believed that she was supporting the Bundy protesters, I don't think that I would stay at the RV park again. She was really nice to us at times and at other times she barely acknowledged us, but she seemed stressed, as did her employees, who were darling. The RV park is pretty pristine. The park is a haven for bird lovers. There are bird houses along the fences, bird feeders everywhere, a killdeer that was being protected in a taped off area, trees with an irrigation system in the gravel camping area and bird fountains with cute decorations. The restaurant is clean and nice. The breakfast is great. The store is very well stocked. We had no need to use the common bathrooms and showers, but I found it disturbing that they charge for showers. read more

Even if they hadn't supported the Bundys, I'd avoid this place like the plague. Dump station barely works, tap water tastes like ass, the shore power was so unstable, I pulled out my solar panels and just went off-grid. I guess if money and replacing things are no object, have at it. Not me. If we ever go back to Malheur, we wont even waste a single night (or nickel) on these Nazis. read more

This place is awesome. It's in the middle of nowhere! The owners are a retired couple, super friendly. The wife and I were desperate for gas and happily stumbled across this place. Decided to stay for lunch. The server and the cook who happened to be one of the owners were super friendly. The burgers were amazing. Hand pressed beef hand cut fresh fries and great homemade potato salad. A beer for me and a glass of wine for the wife. If we lived anywhere near here we would come back on a regular basis. This was a great place to stay. The couple working here were friendly and helpful. Nice sites with reasonable spacing and good facilities. Lots of sites with full hookup for RV's and a nice lawn for tent campers. The bathrooms and showers were good and very clean. The restaurant and mini mart seems brand new. We didn't eat there--but it sure smelled good! Easy access to Malheur Refuge. Gas and diesel are available. The prices were reasonable for everything. We will definitely be coming back. read more

The park was pretty basic but the thing that ruin our entire stay were the swarms of mosquitoes that attacked any time we stepped out of the RV. Basically held hostage inside our camper by this ( even with bug spray we could not keep them at bay)! In addition, they charge $2 for a 4 minute shower and an additional 50 cents for every additional minute after that. My advice: stay away... stay far far away!!! read more

Stopped in for a cold beer and ended up having lunch. Great burgers and BLT. We were so welcomed even though they have been short staffed. Ended up stopping for breakfast on our way home and the meal and service were just as splendid. Clean, quaint, and loved everything about the place. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here recently, and it was our first time out with our new (used) trailer. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and knowledgeable, and gave us a few tips on trailer care. The location is great! Right next to the wildlife refuge. There is also great rockhounding in the area. We will definitely stay here again. read more

In May we spent our 3rd time staying at Narrows RV park & had another amazing trip! This RV Park has everything you need with full hook-ups, laundry facilities, small store, gas/diesel/propane, & a great little restaurant! The Malheur NWR Headquarters is just down the road so it was very convenient to run down early & late in the day to check out the birds. There was also great birding within the campground and we saw multiple Tanagers, Orioles, Kingbirds & much more in the campground every day. The restaurant has great food & we ate there several times (fantastic burgers & shakes!). The new owners Tina & Scott were very friendly & hardworking. I especially appreciated how positive & helpful our interactions with Tina were (she's like a little powerhouse ray of sunshine). We had a great time & are looking forward to our next trip! read more

The new owners came out to greet us on our first visit. Very friendly and want to please their customers. We sat outside in their picnic seating area. We stop by here few times a year. This place is in the middle of nowhere however the scenery is spectacular and the service is just as good. This place has it all. A small grocery, gas, an RV park with showers (I have not had the pleasure of staying overnight), free wifi, a pool table, a family restaurant, and bar. Everything is homemade and run by a couple of gals. The prices are reasonable, portions are big, and the food is delicious! Very kiddo friendly and an all around great place to look forward to when traveling through the desert. *If you need gas, get it here because there is not another place for a very long time. This is a nice little place out in the middle of nowhere. The RV spots are more spacious than at many places, and the wifi is fast and solid. The cafe food is well above average, especially compared to other offerings in Harney county. The breakfasts are quite good, but the burgers are awesome. They are hand-formed, made from local beef, and they will cook them however you like. Likewise the salads, unlike many in this area, have leafy greens and veggies in them, for which thank you! The store is well-stocked with whatever the passing -through camper or RV'er might need in the way of food or toiletries or beverages. The owner's have done a really nice job here; it's impeccably clean and the bar is quaint- could use some liquor, but the small beer selection is thoughtful. read more

Very nice stop , loved the little village . Has a country store , coffee shop , cafe ,bar , laundry, showers, restrooms and RV park . We enjoyed visiting with the staff .The art work is definitely worth the stop . Prices were very reasonable for the area . Played darts and had a cocktail my husband had Cascade Lakes 20 Brown Ale . They carry a large selection of wines . Had a large outside patio you can use to enjoy your drinks and the view is spectacular.The menu had a large variety of items . This was an interesting place to stay. For the most part, it was all right, especially since we were self-contained. Unlike many RV parks, it the pictures on the web site actually look like the park. But there are a few things worth mentioning:. 1. When we called, we were told that we had the last open space. But there were at least a dozen similar spaces with better locations with better locations. 2. The showers had a lengthy six-digit code, puzzling considering there was nothing else in the area which would attract people sneaking free showers. Possibly it was because of the charge for showers, unusual in private RV parks where you pay for the shower as part of your space charge. 3. The people running the place were nice and friendly, after you got their attention -- not always easy. We might go back, it is the closest RV park to the Malheur Wildlife Preserve, but before we do we will at least check on other facilities nearby. read more
