We stopped to get fuel at the Sinclair Station and found there was a sit down restaurant so we found a place to park (lots of room for RVs to park) and went in. We were greeted, given menus and our drink order was taken. We decided on Fish and Chips (comes with fries or tater tots) and Potato Soup. The food came out and was brought right away. The food was hot out of the fryer. No sitting under heat lamps here! The fish was good but not hand breaded. The fish, fries and tater tots appear to be from frozen and they cook on site. They are good but not like fresh made. The soup was potato and had lots of potatoes and bacon. It was good even though I don't care for that much bacon in my potato soup. It's not 5 star dining nor is it intended but the food is hot, tasty, and service is excellent. It makes a great place to stretch and grab a bite. I would definitely stop again.

So far I've been here for 5 minutes. The place was busy. The server greeted me and told me it would be a minute. She was very nice. I asked about the menu and she helped me figure out what I wanted. The burgers here are non frozen 100% beef burgers. Can't wait for it to come out. It was amazing. Cook very well. I'm definitely coming back in the future.

Chicken fried steak. Way over fried or dirty oil.

Was very sad to receive a very over fried chicken fried steak. The waitress took it back for a new one. Brought back one just as burnt. There were three of us and the only ones there. Not like the cook was super busy.

Good chicken fried steak breakfast. Shared it with my wife. Always stop here on our trips through Burns. Oregon.

Good food at a fair price. Great hole in the wall. Service was spot on and not over the top. Hash browns were perfect.

Burns,OR May 2026…read more We came on a Wednesday night and there were only three other tables that were occupied. At 6:15 all the tables are filled. The restaurant is very clean. The floors, the food, the tables, the chairs. I am very impressed. My husband and I ordered a half chicken salad to share and we also split the chicken Alfredo. The Chicken salad was large. I found it hard to believe it was only a half portion. The salad came with a very large portion of shredded torn, hot chicken. The lettuce was Romaine and it had diced tomatoes with shredded cheese slices of cucumbers, large slices of red onion, and croutons. It was supposed to come with a sliced egg, but there was none on the salad. The chicken Alfredo was a very large portion. There was more chicken on the salad then in the chicken Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce tasted smoky. I swear there was a half a pound of pasta in that dish. Like all the other portions of food it is very large. They serve fresh bread with butter to the table. The bread is delicious. The waiter said they make it here. We were offered dessert but we chose you to decline. They have a display case of three different kinds of pies, bars, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and more. My only complaint is that the booths are so far from the table. I had to eat at the end of my bench. But I love that the backs of the booths are so very tall. You can't see your neighbor behind you. I was finished eating and pushed my plate away. My husband was still eating his food. The waiter came up to see if we needed anything else. As we were talking to him, an older woman came by interrupted our conversation with the waiter and started to take all of our plates. My husband was not finished eating, but since she piled the plates on top of each other, we were now done. Perhaps in the future, she should ask if we are finished before removing them from the table. The staff is friendly. The food is ginormous and delicious. This is definitely a place if I were passing through I would stop and eat again. I give this restaurant 4.7 stars.

We were seated and it was indicated that it might take our server a little bit to get to us. Honestly, we didn't wait any longer than a typical restaurant that wasn't busy. All good. With its supper club vibe, the entrees include a shrimp cocktail, soup or salad, bread, and choice of potatoes. They do not scrimp on portions. Even my wine choice was a healthy pour. The room was decorated with lots hangings that felt homey and welcoming. I chose the pork chop as my entree. It was served nice and hot and cooked perfectly. It was a thicker, bone in cut, served with cinnamon apples on top. Very good. Salad was huge, shrimp cocktail was served in a small stemmed dish with a dollop of cocktail sauce on top. Garlic mashed potatoes were buttery and creamy. Our server was great. We enjoyed this stop.

Not sure why all the bad reviews, perhaps disgruntled employees and their friends and family? Although old and outdated, with undesirable bathroom conditions, the food is fantastic diner breakfast quality! We ate there twice while staying at Crane Hot Springs and both times our eggs were cooked perfect, breakfast was hot, service was friendly and portions were plentiful. If the bathrooms were cleaned I'd have given 5 stars in the old diner category! I definitely recommend for breakfast and I'll be back!

The hostess/server seemed kinda shocked/dismayed we were there, as there was only one other table occupied. The food, although wasn't 'bad,' was the very definition of mediocre. I tried the corned beef hash, two eggs and 3 pancakes. It looked like 3/4 a cup of hash smeared on the plate and two eggs - for $16.99. I know that is likely the going rate for what I got, but the presentation seemed so...pitiful? Maybe I'm just old, but it seemed like a $6.99 plate, at most. My daughter got the pork chop meal, which was already controversial as they apparently forgot they even had them in stock. We should have taken that as a sign to call it good and try some place else, but she went for it anyway. Two little overcooked medallions of pork later, we're done. They got a great establishment there. Just need to spruce up the food a bit. Otherwise, it kind of gives off a 55+ community cafeteria vibe.

Let's be clear, we're largely talking pub-grub. But, it's probably the best pub-grub in Oregon, Washington or Idaho. And, the value equation is so good it's silly. All the food is from-scratch, and the wait staff is nice, with Eastern Oregon sensibilities. We had 5 in our party, and we each ordered something different. Chicken Strips, Pizza, French Dip, Cheesburger, and Cobb Salad (if memory serves). Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the details really stood out: The beef for the French Dip was not overcooked, and the Au Jus was tasty; the cheeseburger, despite being grass-fed and lean (from Silvies Valley Ranch) was still juicy and tasty (!); and the fries were absolutely perfect, nice and crisp. The topper for several of us was the Huckleberry Shakes because it IS Eastern Oregon - we were all quite pleased. If you happen through for hunting season, or the Malhuer Refuge Bird Festival, or maybe you're heading down to check out the Steen's Mountains, you should definitely stop in for a repast. You might need to resist the urge to eat in John Day or Burns, depending on your direction of arrival, but you'll be glad you did!
